Source question for MilHist people edit
Does anyone in MilHist know of any good sources for finding draft information for WWII? I can't seem to find any info about Thompson's draft/enlistment status; I just know that he went into the Army. KV5 (Talk • Phils) 01:01, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- the enlistment records are searchable online at ancestry.com An initial search on John Samuel Thompson, b. 1917, white, generated over 1600 hits, and I don't have time to go through them all. It has enlistments, I'm not sure about commissions. Your public library should have access to this database. You'll need to restrict it to military records. They also have Stars and strips, and grave registries. Good luck! Auntieruth55 (talk) 19:48, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Please clarify a photo edit
"Thompson and Jim Konstanty were called up to the major league club together." appears as a photo caption. Please indicate who is in the photo; if it's Konstanty, try something like "(shown here)". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.82 (talk) 16:38, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
