I have a question regarding his place/date of birth when reding wikipedia in portuguese, spanish, french or dutch. Is someone able to correct ? Piku 9 mars 2006 à 21:14 (CET) (contributor on french wikipedia)

Medical Treatment after Fatal Accident

I removed this from the article: "[he died] also because he was racing and the closest hospital capable of treating his injuries was in Lisbon, 400 km from the place of the accident." It has not been established that distance was a factor; rather, time was probably more important, as Agostinho did not want to be treated immediately after his accident, insisting he was OK. -maf 16:12, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

The circumstances of his death still need a improvement in my opinion - as of today it reads "He fell into a coma in the ambulance and never emerged" which, unless he is still in the ambulance today is patently not accurate. I'm afraid I don;t have the knowledge to be able to make the correction. 217.113.170.97 (talk)

Use of hemet

The use of helmets by professional cyclists in those days was optional and the so called "helmets" consisted of an open work grid of leather covered rubber straps. At any rate, most professional cyclists preferred to make a few extra bucks wearing a sponsored cap with the upturned peak. In amateur cycling, the compulsory use of helmets, I think was introduced in pre WWII times. CharlieCares (talk) 14:56, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
