Merger

I don't think this article should be merged -- INSP is a separate religious channel that is part of a larger Inpiration Networks. It would be like the CBS network being merged into CBS Corporation's article. I say leave it as it is. -- azumanga 18:06, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

These articles should not be merged. The Inspiration Networks is the parent company of INSP-The Inspiration Network and 3 other distinct cable networks. They are not one in the same entity. Like FOX owns Fox News Channel, FX, etc. The Inspiration Networks owns INSP, iLife-TV, INI, etc. toddbarwick 13:13 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Apparent press release inserted verbatim on August 29 2008

Based on its style and tone, it's obvious that these edits [1] inserted the verbatim text of a press release into the article, which I then removed. Wikipedia is not a means of advertising or promotion and articles must not be written as if they were advertisements. Further, regardless of whether or not this press release was picked up and printed by a newspaper, copyrighted sources may be used as a source of information, not of verbatim sentences. Cut-and-pasting of material from such sources is disallowed. (Applicable Wikipedia policies include WP:NOTADVERTISING and WP:COPYRIGHT; "All works are copyrighted unless either they fall into the public domain or their copyright is explicitly disclaimed.") Thanks, Mike. I'm confused then. Third party sources are to be used for updating a Wiki entry, but we cannot quote the third party source. If we write what the third party source writes, but don't quote, it's not accepted either. How can we add information to a Wiki entry without quoting but siting outside sources? I'm sure you could get more detail by checking the links provided, but the gist of it is that the article should not consist of direct quotes, although it may occasionally contain direct quotes. The article should contain the same facts as are in the copyrighted source, but not the same exact words as the source. In short, the source should be cited (referenced), not copied.
