Unreferenced material edit

I removed this material from the article as the reference that it referred to was incorrect. Celtic Crossraods only goes to page 391. The material is also irrelevant and confusing:

This version of the song is regarded by "Van fanatics" as one of his greatest ever live performances.[1]

i.e. - Who are the "Van fanatics" and why should the reader care what they think? Agadant (talk) 15:00, 8 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

The 2000 edition of the book has a filmography section, in which the 1973 version of the song is listed, described by Hinton as "legendary among Van fanatics". If this is not "Van fanatics" opinion this is Hinton's and should be mentioned in the article. Kitchen roll (talk) 18:12, 8 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
The ISBN is for the 1997 edition, which i have, and which goes to page 391. The 2000 edition would have a different ISBN number. Also, if all it says is "legendary among Van fanatics", that does not exactly translate into "regarded by Van fanatics as one of his greatest ever live performances." It could also just mean for versions of this one song. And who really cares about this - these articles are not written for Van fanatics but the general public. I just think it is immaterial and out of place, except on a fansite blog. Can you find something more interesting to put in the article about the song? He's refering to the whole concert performance of four songs, which I possibly could have made clearer and then praises the video collection that the song also features in that appears on page 404 without the other four songs in the concert. Although I may have been a bit biased towards it, considering I believe that this performance of the song is Morrison's best live performance ever. However I haven't taken anything from the Hinton quote out of context and still think what he has said about this performance can be written in a way that would be informative and not out of place to a reader on wikipedia.Kitchen roll (talk) 18:59, 8 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Also would you say this article is written in Brittish or American English, as to the spelling of programme. Thanks Kitchen roll (talk) 19:03, 8 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think that a lot of time has been spent talking about this one sentence that could have been spent elsewhere. I changed the spelling to correlate with the show being an American one and the rest of the article, etc. The main article is and should remain with British spelling. Sorry, but this is all the time I have for discussing this minor edit. At least you should now be aware that I wasn't just discriminating against your edit but acting as an impartial editor to the best of my knowledge and I don't think the sentence is necessary or pertinent as it refers to a minority group - overall and is not encyclopedic in tone. Makes sense. Thanks for your time. You've persuaded me that the info. removed is not relevant and therefore shouldn't be reinstated. However I will add the Hinton ref. to prove the appearance at Kirshner's rock concert. Thanks Kitchen roll (talk) 20:04, 8 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
