ALT1:... that Hilda Vīka was expelled from Soviet Latvia's artist union because of "remnants of formalism" in her paintings? Source: "In 1945, painter joined the Artists' Union of the Latvian SSR (AUL), from which she was expelled in 1950 'for remnants of formalism in her oeuvre'." (Latvian National Museum of Art)
