  • "was on the editorial board of five other magazine and newspapers; and was also the Vice President of the Literary Center of Zulia." aren't there any articles missing here?
  • No, it's a fine sentence. I think you meant pronouns, which is covered by the 'Trujillo' at the start. Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Are geni, Noticia el Mundo, notitarde, El Zuliano Rajao, poetaszulianos.blogspot.com and Arturo Serrano reliable sources?
  • I can look at the blogspot again, but the rest should be - Arturo Serrano is a Venezuelan professor of film history, a couple of those are big newspapers over there. Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Some sources have broken references or links.
  • I'll take a look, hopefully related articles will have replacement links or archives. Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Infobox does not appear to be supported by any source.
  • All the info in it is in the article... Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • AGFing on some sources due to access issues.
  • Sources for the list?
  • World Cat, it's in the external links but I can add it. Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • I don't think that #7 supports the statement sourced to it.
  • Will take a look at that, has been a bit of an issue. There's two other refs for that info, though, so shouldn't be an issue if it needs to be removed. (Referring to Villalobos Finol, right?) Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Is there any more information on this guy? The article is quite short.
  • Not that isn't really redundant. Are there any areas you'd expect to have more coverage? Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Didn't notice any copyright violations or plagiarism.
  • Article is otherwise neutral, comprehensive (my previous comment aside)
  • Do we know about the photographer?

Pinging SandyGeorgia as the only Venezuela-related editor I know to see if they can spot some other problem. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 18:54, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'll leave a message for Sandy, who I've gathered is not a fan of pings. Kingsif (talk) 19:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
SG review
  • I can find nothing at https://noticiaalminuto.com/ to indicate reliability and have never heard of that source. Also, it says something different than what is in the text, so a new and reliable source is needed here.
  • Try this instead,[1] which also says same, "“El Cordón de Gran Oficial” de la Orden del Libertador, en su segunda clase." (the Second class ribbon).
  • See WP:RSP; Geni is not a reliable source.
  • Removed, I think some of the info is covered in the article published by Issuu, and I'll see if the rest is pertinent to the subject before hunting other sources. Kingsif (talk) 00:28, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • This source needs a page no for verification: Semprún Parra, Jesus Angel (2019). Diccionario General de la Literatura en el Zulia: Autores Libros publicados Revistas. Periódicos Premios Instituciones Eventos Editoriales Grupos Movimientos y Generaciones Literarias. Zulia: Sultana del Lago (published 16 August 2019). ISBN 9781686763892.
  • Managed to replace it with the Quorum Academico source, which contains all if not more info from what I recall. Kingsif (talk) 00:32, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • It's got an interview with one of his grandchildren, who supplied the photo, so I think it's fine. Kingsif (talk) 00:28, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Comfortable with Notitarde for this purpose.
  • Comfortable with ElZulianoRajao, but it says, "Fue diputado por el Zulia ante el Congreso Nacional y secretario general de gobierno del Zulia." The "Assembly" of Zulia might come from the second source, which I cannot access, but this source only says "government".
  • Altered the text for ease of verification.
  • I cannot download the Serrano article.
  • This has me confused, as it is available on the web page without downloading. Kingsif (talk) 01:06, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • PoetasZulianos is a blog.

Overall, I don't feel comfortable that this article is verifiable enough, yet. More sourcing work needed? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:59, 5 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Yes, thank you for the detailed source review, Sandy - I did a lot of sourcing work at related articles in their GA reviews, and was expecting the same again. @Jo-Jo Eumerus:, I should hopefully be able to work on this soon. Kingsif (talk) 17:41, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Put this on hold for improvement. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 18:21, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Kingsif and Jo-Jo Eumerus: unwatching for now, pls ping me should you need further feedback, Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:25, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • @Jo-Jo Eumerus: I have fixed the problems identified by Sandy, as well as adding other refs and info from them. I've also added an updated picture, ostensibly from the twitter of Maracaibo archivists (which theoretically confirms its PD nature; it's also so similar to the other photo - same suit, same backdrop, etc. - that I'm not concerned with the twitter account's use being misleading). Kingsif (talk) 01:09, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
    1. 1 does not seem to say that that is one of the highest honours of Venezuela. Courtesy ping to SandyGeorgia in case they still have problems with the article. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 08:56, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Missing publisher on first source. “One of the highest” because he was given the second class ribbon. This is so widely recognized as the highest honour that it should be easy to source. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 09:09, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Updated [1], added a Princeton source about Latin American honors that explains it. Kingsif (talk) 20:20, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
    Update ping to @Jo-Jo Eumerus: Kingsif (talk) 23:49, 20 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Kingsif: Sourcing seems OK now. Perhaps you could add some text to the lead about his career. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 11:04, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Jo-Jo Eumerus: Lead expanded, let me know what you think of it Kingsif (talk) 16:23, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sigh. I forgot one thing - the Princeton source implies that it's a pretty high honorific but it doesn't explicitly call it one of the highest. SandyGeorgia, I think that's the only item left, yes? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 16:32, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Jo-Jo, I am so sorry, but I just don't have time to review further now, because of That Other Thing. Kingsif: source-to-text integrity. We know it's the highest honour, but you need to source that. If you can't, please ask Jamez42 or one of the other Venezuelan editors to help you find a Spanish source to do that, or remove the wording. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:42, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Jo-Jo Eumerus: I have now added an eMedals source: the Princeton one explains the varieties of the Order, including Grand Officer, and eMedals very explicitly says The Order of the Liberator was the highest distinction of Venezuela. Does that work? Kingsif (talk) 18:54, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
