Video game writer

edit

Rucka wrote the plot for the video game Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. It should probably be written into the article. Here's the source:[1] - Throw 16:25, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

First writer to write Action and Detective

edit

This is untrue - Siegel and Shuster were writing Superman in Action Comics while also writing Slam Bradley in Detective Comics. Furthermore, any claim to this effect would be unverifiable anyway - for decades DC used anonymous writers and artists on Superman and Batman who worked uncredited, and it's not always the case that we know who wrote what. On leaving DC?

edit

Should his leaving DC be elaborated upon? If so, this quote from his AMA on Reddit seems to describe the conditions of it well:

The quick version, and without casting aspersions, comes down to the fact that I was terribly, terribly unhappy, and in almost-constant conflict with various people in editorial. The straw that broke the camel's back was, honestly, one broken promise too many. And there had been a LOT of broken promises leading to the last one. I was at DC for the better part of ten years. It was time to go.

the old guard: force multiplied

edit

so just to be clear, according to the genius who contributed this info to Rucka's bib, Greg Rucka wrote #1 in December 2019 then went back in time continuously until #5 came out in July 2017. FUCKING GENIUS.

Son's arrest

edit

I propose leaving out the arrest of his son. It had nothing to do with Rucka, and it was just an arrest.לילך5 (talk) 20:27, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Rucka's son is a none notable person and WP:BLPCRIME states: Accusations, investigations and arrests do not amount to a conviction. For individuals who are not public figures; that is, individuals not covered by § Public figures, editors must seriously consider not including material—in any article—that suggests the person has committed, or is accused of having committed, a crime, unless a conviction has been secured. WP:NOTPUBLICFIGURE also states that In such cases, exercise restraint and include only material relevant to the person's notability, focusing on high-quality secondary sources. The sources that User:FrankensteinsDad keeps finding are typically labeled generally unreliable/deprecated by WP:RSP (WP:NYPOST, WP:THESUN, & WP:DAILYMAIL) or have little to no information about their editorial staff or policies (newzandar.com, reportdoor.com, etc). Given there's no high quality coverage of a conviction, I don't think it should be included here or at Jen Van Meter. Sariel Xilo (talk) 21:02, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Even without that alphabet soup of policy, it just isn't relevant. If his son had a page of his own I'd agree all that policy would apply there, but on this page adding incidents involving his family that do not involve him other than some blood or relationship ties isn't irrelevant.לילך5 (talk) 21:26, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
As you requested, I omitted all three of those reference sources, but I still have submitted at least eight others that are surely valid. The section on Rucka's personal life mentions him having a wife and 2 kids,so I didn't bring his family into this. (BLP violation removed) FrankensteinsDad (talk) 22:40, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

::I strongly suspect this Sariel Xiro person is in some way personally associated with Greg Rucka and is deleting any information that he (or she) doesn't like on his page, regardless of whether it's true or not. There is some kind of strong personal relationship going on here, otherwise why is she harassing me and reporting me for contributing a simple statement of fact that I've backed up with NUMEROUS reference sources?? In fact, why wasn't that story added to Rucka's page two years ago when it happened?? It's obvious she is a personal friend or acquaintance of his, or maybe just an overzealous fan. I'm asking wikipedia to investigate the connection between this Sariel person and Greg Rucka. The whole things smacks on censorship. Also, why are the NY Post, the Sun, and all of these other newspapers considered "unreliable", but the Washington Post and NY Times are fine?? Isn't that a little bit backwards there? Do I detect a prejudice against conservative news sources in general?? Every ONE of them is unreliable??? Something funny going on here. FrankensteinsDad (talk) 22:58, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
It has everything to do with Rucka. It shows what kind of child he has raised, which says a lot about him as a father. Also his son travelled 3000 miles to commit his crimes that day, which makes it a very unusual and intriguing story in general. A very unique crime! FrankensteinsDad (talk) 23:03, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
His child is a different person from him. Stop putting it back in the article, everyone disagrees with you FrankensteinsDad.לילך5 (talk) 03:43, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

:::I just noticed this person whose editing name is לילך5 is not a real wikipedia account. It is a fake name she made up to harass me. Check it out, it's a fake wiki-name!!! Unbelievable....so now Sariel Xilo's using fake editing names to make it look like other editors are supporting her?? FrankensteinsDad (talk) 18:35, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
A fake name? That's an egregious attack.---Lilach5 (לילך5) discuss 04:40, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
