Because He Is a New York Yankees. His bio on Espn.com has him Listed as a New York Yankees. There is not always an official announcement, But I hope if and when there is an announcement you fix this otrosity and change his status from Free Agent to His current team THE NEW YORK YANKEES.

Another reason not mentioned previously to not make this change yet is that the Yankees have a full 40-man roster and cannot add Cole to it without subtracting someone else. They may be working to make a small trade today. Anyway, the Internet tells me an introductory press conference for Cole is set for noon tomorrow. If they announce his signing sooner than that, we can change it sooner than that. Figure that's the latest time possible for them to announce the transaction officially.
