unsupportive of independent comic book creators and self-publishers? edit

This assertion is poorly worded, and does not appear to have any support. It should be deleted.

College doesn't make sense? edit

It says he did the cartoon for the University of Maryland, College Park's Diamondback, but it never says he attended school there... (the Nursing School is in Baltimore). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Omarcheeseboro (talkcontribs) 15:47, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Frank went to the nursing school in Baltimore, but his comic appeared in the Diamondback. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.164.245.217 (talk) 22:29, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Comics B-Class Assesment required edit

This article needs the B-Class checklist filled in to remain a B-Class article for the Comics WikiProject. If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. Influences? edit

This could use some note(s) on influences of his style. Is he a fan of classic masters like Frank Frazetta or the more modern artists like Mark Schultz?Rickremember (talk) 07:38, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

C-Class rated for Comics Project edit

As this B-Class article has yet to receive a review, it has been rated as C-Class. If you disagree and would like to request an assesment, please visit Wikipedia:WikiProject_Comics/Assessment#Requesting_an_assessment and list the article. Hiding T 14:07, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done - needs expanding and a tonne more sources. I'd normally put this as a Start-class but will leave it at C but it is a low C and needs a lot more work. (Emperor (talk) 01:22, 30 May 2010 (UTC))Reply

"Well Endowed Women" Euphemism? edit

Not an expert, but surely wikipedia should just say what it means rather than deal with this euphemistically? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.172.225.200 (talk) 01:05, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

"Well-endowed women" is not a euphemism. It's simply the proper, formal way of wording as per WP:TONE, so it does indeed say what it means. What wording would you prefer? Nightscream (talk) 01:54, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page edit

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly. Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Triggered by (?<=[/@.])examiner\.com(?:[:/?\x{23}]|$) on the local blacklist

If you would like me to provide more information on the talk page, contact User:Cyberpower678 and ask him to program me with more info.

Ive removed the link and the infobox that this bot produces from the article. The link was to examiner.com which is a confirmed non-reliable source and it 404'd anyway. Googling for the article name that the link was supposed to point to only produced this wikipedia article and sites scraping it. The reference also humorously enough listed examiner.com as The Washington Examiner which is washingtonexaminer.com and is a newspaper and not a PPC self publishing forum. Ill do some homework and follow up here in case further action is needed - the misnaming could have been deliberate, Im not sure. Jaydubya93 (talk) 13:34, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Here is when the link was placed: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Frank_Cho&diff=prev&oldid=199987388 It was added by Quackslikeaduck. Originally, the source was labelled as Examiner (Washington D.C.). Currently its based out of Denver but that might have been different 5 years ago. It also was not formatted as "Washington Examiner". Based on this and the other edits by the user seems to have been a simple mistake, compounded by editors who tried to be helpful after the fact by renaming the source of the citation without bothering to click-through the link and reading the name of the cite or any other sort of verification of their modification of the citation, let alone verification of the citation itself. TL;DR no intentional spamming or bad faith of any kind. Jaydubya93 (talk) 14:11, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
My apologies, Jaydubya93. I will be more diligent in the future, and in particular will not use citations from Examiner.com. ~ Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 21:18, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
No worries! I have just been going through pages flagged by the blacklist-bot so please know I did not intend to single you out in any way. My real concern was the mislabeling of the citation, which was unusual but definitely wasn't intentional. Please keep up all the good work and thank you for your continued edits.
