Starter

edit

Not really sure where people get their information. Meredith was only LeBaron's backup for two years. They split time in '62, with Meredith getting the majority, and Meredith was the full time starter in '63. I'm going to fix the mistakes, which are easily researched.71.115.202.76 (talk) 10:17, 24 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Google answers lists Meredith as throwing the longest (in the air, and unofficial) pass here. Probably trivia that doesn't belong, but what the heck. Ched (talk) 03:50, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I saw both of those Dallas Cowboys' games on TV where Google Answers this might have occurred. The two pass completions of 95 yards and 86 yards that occurred in them were shown several times. Neither pass was in the air for even 60 yards. Google Answers is wrong to state otherwise and also wrong in saying "the statistic is in the NFL record book." There is no statistic kept for longest pass in the air.TL36 (talk) 03:53, 26 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

>Meredith is also said to be the only player to play his high school (Mount Vernon), college (SMU), and pro (Dallas Cowboys) career in and around the Dallas, TX area.

What about Bob Lilly (Olney, TCU, Cowboys) or Harvey Martin (South Oak Cliff, East Tex State - Commerce, Cowboys)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.96.66.39 (talk) 19:06, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair Hooker

edit

It is an urban legend that Meredith said of Fair Hooker that he had not met one yet. The initial 1970 MNF broadcast is on YouTube and Meredith only says only, “Isn’t that a great name?” Keith Jackson said nothing, while Howard Cosell said he was not going to touch that one. This should be noted. 2600:8800:3B1:8D00:E406:439:AFD8:167 (talk) 20:38, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
