Section on protests edit

Should it include 'Due to the size of the crowd, many protesters were unable to maintain 2 metres (6.6 ft) of physical distance, which had been mandated by the province in response to the COVID-19 pandemic'? Surely this has been true of any decent-sized protest since physical distancing orders began, and seems calculated to delegitimize the protest. I think in other pages it might be relevant to say. It is true that in some provinces the protests may have been illegal gatherings of over 50 people, and that physical distancing guidelines may not have been followed. I think that might be relevant in other pages about COVID or the protests if properly sourced. I am not sure it is relevant here though. This article is about the death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet. It is obviously relevant to mention that protests occurred and were linked to her death, but beyond mentioning that, I am not sure how much we need to go into the details of the protests.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 17:32, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would say it is relevant, because compared to any other protest, it still happened during a worldwide pandemic. In retrospect now there is little evidence of any transmission of the virus, but it was a concern. Also the initial organizers of the first protest openly asked participants to self isolate and get tested. CaffeinAddict (talk) 17:16, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Full SIU report edit

The full SIU report has been released to the public, if any of the information would be useful in being disseminated here: [1] CaffeinAddict (talk) 19:18, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Might be worth waiting/putting that in a "further reading" section until it's been thoroughly dissected by news organizations, as it's arguably a primary source. But I think it definitely belongs in further reading at least. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 19:23, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

This was not an accident. She would not have been killed if police were not present. Seeseace (talk) 21:50, 29 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Video of mother edit

I'm of the opinion that the video of Korchinski-Paquet's mother does not add anything to the article. Wanted to begin a conversation here. CaffeinAddict (talk) 13:05, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Indigenous edit

Was Korchinski-Paquet First Nations? Which First Nations? The article says Indigenous, but doesn't specify further. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 03:49, 28 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
