Lead

• It would be good to add "Argentina" in the first line.

• I think it would be better to explain the geographical setting and maritime influence; the first para can be rephrased a bit like this (I have included some CE in this): ... Due to the maritime influences of the adjoining Atlantic Ocean, its climate is temperate, and hot and cold days are rare. Thus the cold air coming directly from the south (moderated by the maritime influence) is warmer than the southwestern winds (which are not moderated by it).

•  Done I would agree too. The addition of the extra information helps to relate the maritime influences more better. I changed it to reflect this. The second sentence "Thus the cold air..." was modified by me to "Thus, cold air coming directly from the south are moderated by the Atlantic Ocean and warmer than winds from the southwest (which are not moderated by it)". I think that this explains the causal mechanism behind how come the air is more warmer if it comes from the south than from the southwest. • I have checked the source. There was a misinterpretation that I did not catch. If you change the language of the source to the English version and go to page 2, this is where the information is from. According to that source, it says "In autumn and summer, it (the South Atlantic High) produces cyclogenesis generally in the north of Buenos Aires but can affect the La Plata River area creating intense winds from the S-SE that occasionally cause swelling of the river level and flooding in the waterfront area." What the source is trying to say is that the South Atlantic High produces cyclogenesis And produce strong winds that may cause swelling of the river and lead to floods in the area. • Polar maritime refers to a cool (polar as arctic is the very cold air mass while tropical is warm/hot), moist (maritime is moist, if it was continental, it is dry). I changed it and add a source that is relevant to Argentina (most air mass descriptions focus on USA or UK). A definition for air masses is at this source by the US National Weather Service. •  Done I have explained the term nortes which was transferred from the article on climatic regions of Argentina. This is because the source from it is reliable and I could not find any other reliable sources on this. For the second sentence, it is used to illustrate how large is the difference in mean temperatures in the city proper than in suburban and rural areas owing to the urban heat island effect. • I checked the link for heat wave. If one reads the definitions, it does not have a worldwide view and is biased towards developed countries. As well, the National Weather Service uses the 90th percentile temperatures with respect to the normal as the threshold which is how they came up with those numbers (though adding this in may be confusing to many readers). Poor grammar — needs to go back to the source reference to correct

The following has poor grammatical structure and i cannot correct it without referencing the source as it is also unclear as to the intent in English.

” The average heat island is in summer than in winter. This varies by season; its influence during the day is the strongest in July than in January. In contrast, the urban heat island effect during nights is the most intense in January than in July.” Freakdog (talk) 16:16, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

I edited it based on my intuition. If this is ok, i will delete this section.
