The result of the proposal was move to Camp Hansen.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 11:18, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Requested move
edit- Oppose move. Camp Hansen is ambiguous. For example, there is the Camp Hansen in Kansas that is run by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. There was a CCC Camp Hansen in Idaho. --Bejnar (talk) 06:53, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Support move per WP:NC and proposer FieldMarine's reason, "name consistency with other bases in Okinawa" (see List of United States Marine Corps installations#Japan). Other Camps with common names do not have similar disambiguation in their titles. Disambiguation is unnecessary because there are no other articles on Wikipedia with the same name (Camp Hansen currently redirects to Camp Hansen, Okinawa) and articles on the scout camp and former CCC camp are unlikely to be written (the CCC camp is not even mentioned in the CCC article); and if they are written, this Camp Hansen is likely to be primary anyway. Also, this article was originally at "Camp Hansen" until a vandal moved it in June 2007; it looks like rather than asking an admin to reverse the vandalism, it was simply moved again to Camp Hansen, Okinawa JA and finally here a few days ago. - Support. There may be other camps of the same name but they don't have articles at Wikipedia and/or are not notable. — AjaxSmack 01:19, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Support. The Okinawa disambiguator in the title is unnecessary precision (because Camp Hansen has no conflict) and so contrary to the guidelines of WP:PRECISION and WP:D. --Born2cycle (talk) 07:06, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Support. At this time Camp Hansen, Okinawa is the only Camp Hansen in this Wikipedia. This fact does not establish this camp as the primary topic, nor does it establish non-notability of the other camps, but for now it does make the question of disambiguation irrelevant. --Una Smith (talk) 09:18, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Chimu Airfield
editI have just created Chimu Airfield, it seems that Camp Hansen was built on or adjacent to Chimu Airfield, but I am unable to confirm this, if anyone is able to provide any information please post on my talk page or the Chimu Airfield talk page Mztourist (talk) 13:30, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, that former airfield is inside Camp Hansen. Geo coordinates could prove it. I know AA 12:55, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
