Proposed move

edit
  • Anybody watch this talk page? If so, why is this "Alfred Lee (basketball)" instead of "Butch Lee?" NOBODY called this guy Alfred when he was in the public eye. If it's Magic Johnson and Red Auerbach, this page should be Butch Lee. If a nickname is so ubiquitous that hardly anyone knows the given name, seems like the nickname should lead. Any opinions on moving the page? Rikster2 (talk) 18:39, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Agree per WP's naming conventions in page titles. Jrcla2 (talk) 19:09, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Further comment: I think that your proposal would qualify as an uncontroversial page move. Even if nobody responds to this, I support that it'd be ok to go ahead with the move. I doubt anyone would care. Jrcla2 (talk) 19:11, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Agree per WP:COMMONNAME. He is listed as Butch Lee on Marquette's website and on basketball-reference.com[1]. In NBA.com, he is listed as Alfred (Butch) Lee, but the link to his profile is using Butch Lee [2]Martin tamb (talk) 20:21, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alfred Lee (basketball)Butch Lee

  • It's probably my fault, I should've said "has been discussed and supported" to avoid misunderstanding. Just saying that it has been discussed might seem like it has some supports and some opposes. — Martin tamb (talk) 18:32, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Come on....

Butch Lee may be Puerto-Rican, but the man is a black man. Being PR does not relieve anyone of their race. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.233.215.114 (talk) 15:50, 16 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
