I intend to fix it so is not so much advertising and it talks about the first women-owned sex toy business's history in the us. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gabelula (talkcontribs) 18:07, 6 March 2006.

Toys in Babeland was not "the first women-owned sex toy business...in the US". That would be Eve's Garden founded by Dell Williams in 1974. Another early business of this type, and perhaps the best known, would be Good Vibrations, which was founded by Joani Blank in 1977. Iamcuriousblue 14:26, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I should say that was the first in Seattle. Good Vibrations was a cooperative and not really a sex toy business in the beginning. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gabelula (talkcontribs) 14:35, 30 August 2006.

This article makes no mention of the Seattle brick and mortar store. I don't know the details, but I think I remember shopping at that store as early as 1995. I just about positive that Seattle was their first store - not New York. I think Claire and Rachel are from Seattle and that this was originally a local business.

inaccurate history edit

The about page on babeland's website says they started in seattle in '93, not online then new york in '95. someone correct this. http://www.babeland.com/about —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.25.136 (talk) 08:29, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
