Her own website confirms 1958. Wikipedia is not the right place for your campaign. --Sitacuisses (talk) 20:03, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

LOL Look at the site gettyimages and looking for Arielle Dombasle. We can see pics of her in .....1957. She was 4 years old. Stop jokking ! On French Wikipedia the administrator leaves 1958 because the actress threatened it!!! Moreover she phoned me by crying by saying to me " Please stop that, I want that people believe that I was born in 1958 as my two idols, Sharon Stone and Madonna! "

If you don't finally try to understand Wikipedia policies, this article will have to be blocked just like the Frenche one. Why don't you read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:No original research? Please try to be a little smarter than you have presented yourself so far. --Sitacuisses (talk) 23:39, 3 January 2010
(I am another editor, no link with the contributor who launched this debate). As you very rightly advised, I read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and especially the section WP:SELFPUB. Quotation from this section : "Self-published (...) sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, especially in articles about themselves, (...), so long as: (...) 4. there is no reasonable doubt as to its authenticity; (...)". As long as the copy of a birth certificate has been produced (see link underneath), I think there is a "reasonable doubt" on the authenticity of the information given by Mrs Dombasle's website. Hence this website cannot be used as a source for this birthdate. Only sources independent from Mrs Dombasle are at our disposal ; none is really authoritative, so the best bet seems to me to give two contradictory informations, both sourced by sources of equal quality. That is the direction I am going to take, editing the article in a few minutes. French Tourist (talk) 21:11, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Birth Certificate here =

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Arielle_Dombasle.jpg

Is this certificate for real? It is highly unusual for this type of french certificate to mention the present husband without mentioning previous marriages as well.Uffe (talk) 20:39, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

For the benefit of the Wikipedia user, it would be fair to mention there is some questions raised about which year of birth is correct. For example, by simply using the Canal+ profile as source (1953).Uffe (talk) 20:39, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Arielle said she was 11 when her mother passed away (last sentence of the first paragraph) https://www.parismatch.com/People/Arielle-Dombasle-ses-confidences-sur-la-mort-de-sa-mere-1205087. And her mother dead in 1965, february : https://gw.geneanet.org/titeufs6?lang=en&pz=gisele+rose+marie&nz=alabert&p=francoise&n=garreau+dombasle So, we found 1953 as year of birth for Arielle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Willrick (talkcontribs) 16:28, 27 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Inconsistency edit

Her first husband is named 'Paul Albou' with reference to a Vanity Fair article (ref. 2). However, checking the reference you only find her husband described as a 'playboy society dentist'. But there is no mention of his name. This article thus cannot be used as a source for naming her first husband. I did some search in other sources (in French) to sort this out. Many sources assert and confirm Paul Albou as a university professor in (sort of-) psychology. Dentistry is completely ruled out. His date of birth match their 32 (or 27?) years age difference. In one reference, The 12 confessions of Arielle, she is quoted for saying she was married to Paul Albou. Interestingly, she ads that when they married, he was already known for previous affairs with 'the most beautiful ladies of the world [Bardot, Fonda, Welch, Bisset]'(!). If all this is true, perhaps Paul Albou deserves an article too... I have not been able to find an English spoken reference to enable the necessary correction of the article.

Nationality? edit

Does anybody know it for the lead? TIA --Tom (talk) 22:43, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

... America, the country of her citizenship. --Sitacuisses (talk) 01:39, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Plastic surgery edit

Due to plastic surgery Dombasle has been very busy during the last 10 years. 109.113.72.111 (talk) 21:48, 31 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is this just vandalism?Uffe (talk) 20:39, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Fromental edit

This surname Fromental appears in the article both as de Fromental and du Fromental.
Neither Fromental is mentioned by the French WP article.

Pronunciation edit

I assume that the 's' in Dombasle is a silent 's'. Is that a correct assumption?
Varlaam (talk) 00:21, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes indeed. In fact, the 'e' is barely audible as well. The '-basle' part pronounced nearly as the 'bal' in 'ballet'. The stress is on the second syllable of the name. The article's phonetic spelling is correct. Uffe (talk) 19:34, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm French and I confirm. We don't pronounce the "s" Willrick (talk) 15:20, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
