– The kickboxer is the primary topic with 300 daily views per day not counting the surge in views from his recent signing to the UFC. The footballer gets 0-1 views and the other two people Alex Pereira Soras/Lopaz do not generate views, but can be put on the disambiguation page that will be put in the hatnote of "Alex Pereira", the kickboxer, should this be approved. LOL, with „Orthodox“ it means his fighting style, not hes religion, he is/was not a orthodox Christian. And i read somewhere that Pareira left islam and went back to his original indigenous religion and culture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:E1:8730:D000:2879:323F:ABC0:D5E1 (talk) 18:00, 14 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Untitled 2022 comment edit

Please change the religion of Alex Pereira to Islaam as he has converted many years back. I have noticed that this request is being asked frequently and no response on it from your side. If editing wont find place within 48 hours. I will have to stop my funding and support to your site unfortunately, because it starts giving me doubts about its true purpose who's I'm a big supporter of, sharing truth information.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Reliable independent sources for Islam conversion edit

The following are not reliable sources:

  1. cisweb is not reliable not independent source as it is an Islamic religion website - see here-1
  2. archysport is not a reliable source - see here-2
  3. sportskeeda refers their content from an article calfkicker - original source which the calfkicker content is not independent (interview piece) and calfkicker is not an independent nor reliable source - see here-3.
As for Sportskeeda - Although started since 2009, (who know how many actual journalists in the company) and only turn profitable in 2016 and sold about 63% (USD 6million - not a big company persay) and involved in esport and gaming - see here-4 and in addition - it site needs to specific how their article is being processed prior publishing - see here-5 which truly reliable, well establish sources would not have such info published. To me the source is not yet consider a reliable source. So in short, none of the sources above is considering reliable nor independent. I suggest you to open a discussion threat in the article talk page and stated why the content and sources were removed and you can copy and paste my reasons above (and state content added/changed needs to be supported by independent, reliable sources (IRS), such as from the major newspapers or books, for verification which is the Wikipedia core policy and the editor who added/changed the info needs to provide the say above to WP:PROOF

I mean when you bundle up the facts that Alex Pereira from his own mouth converted to Islam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
The above is PRIMARY SOURCE that proves that Alex Pereira converted to Islam. Anyways in the above video Alex Pereira recites a SHAHADA, which is required for conversion to Islam. Note the word Pereira recites are: "Ash-hadu alla ilaha illallah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadar-Rasulullah"
This basically means: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." Saying Shahada means you're a Muslim.
There is no other requirement to be a Muslim other than to say Shahada. This statement is from wikipeida itself: "A single honest recitation of the Shahada is all that is required for a person to become a Muslim according to most traditional schools" Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shahada So Alexsandro Pereira reciting Shahada means he is a MUSLIM. as per wikipedia.
So based on primary source, which Pereira's own mouth, he converted to Islam
Also you guys include articles from NOT-SO Reliable sources on MMA wikipedia pages all time; like Sports Keeda, MMA Junkie and MMA Mania https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#Sources. You demand Alex Pereira conversion to Islam articles should be from RELIABLE sources like BBC, CNN, Al Jazzera come on. That's an unreasonable standard that you ppl don't follow yourself
If you guys really thought that Sports Keeda was a bad source. Why did you guys include Not one but three articles from Sports Keeda Articles on Khabib Nurmagomedov page which is NOT open to edit by outsiders. 119.73.121.33 (talk) 05:18, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your reply would be much appreciated. So have a professional courtesy to reply 119.73.121.33 (talk) 05:49, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is cisweb not reliable just because it is an islamic website or am i understanding something wrong ? I thought for a source to be considered independent it can't be self-published, primary and must be third party, all of which this source is. By this same logic we shouldn't use MMA focused websites as sources for info about MMA fighters, or ? What am I missing ? Diana056 (talk) 14:39, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Diana056 See my comments below first. Pls note source needs to be independent from the subject and reliable. The issue is an islamic website or any website which is termed not reliable because it has not not a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy in term of Wikipedia guidelines. Any sources that is related to the subject or interview piece (info comes from the subject) is considered not independent. Any MMA sources that is not related to any MMA fighter or the promotion is considered independent. Some MMA focused webiste are reliable such as MMA fighting, MMA Junkie, Cageside press and etc. but some are not reliable especially those just started not long ago which they just copy and rewrite the article after getting the info from the reliable source and no fact checking of their own nor the website (source) is considered reputable. (We can not use ESPN for UFC event or fighters as the source because ESPN has a major broacastbusiness deal with UFC for 7 years as currently speaking). Hope this answer your question. Cassiopeia talk 21:53, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I get that but as far as I'm aware cisweb has no relation to Alex Pereira himself, so it is independent from the subject of this article. Based on what so you think cisweb specifically doesn't fact check/is inaccurate ? Also according to WP:ABOUTSELF an interview piece should be a completely acceptable source for this type of info, if such interview where he explicitly states he's muslim existed (but to my knowledge it doesn't). Diana056 (talk) 20:18, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Diana056 If the source is independent and reliable, interview info can be added to the article but only directed to the subject itself and we use it very sparingly. The question is cisweb is reliable or not - send link pls. Cassiopeia talk 02:55, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Link to what ? Sorry, English isn't my first language, I don't understand your last sentence. Diana056 (talk) 13:43, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Diana056 Sorry for being not clear. Pls provide cisweb URL. Cassiopeia talk 23:47, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
You mean this ? Diana056 (talk) 00:34, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
This won't pass WP:RS. Their 'about' section says they're a regional organization dedicated to:
"conveying the message of Islam to humanity in Sri Lanka". Not exactly impartial. Nswix (talk) 00:48, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Diana056 Thank you for the link (URL). Agreed with Nswix here, the site/source is not a reliable. Cassiopeia talk 05:07, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

So I have PRIMARY SOURCE Alexsandro Pereira converting to Islam "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntDdQGSxa9c&ab_channel=WestDawnMedia" In this video Alex Pereira is reciting Shahada. Which is required for conversion to Islam. Note the word Alexsandro Pereira repeats are: "Ash-hadu alla ilaha illallah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadar-Rasulullah" This basically means: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." Saying Shahada means you're a Muslim. So I would kindly request to reinstate the fact that Alex Pereira is a Muslim

Also there also articles from NON-RELIGIOUS sites that confirms that Alex Pereira converted to Islam like this one: https://shstrendz.com/alex-pereira/

So I would kindly and request request editors here to reinstate the fact that Alex Pereira is a Muslim 119.73.121.33 (talk) 04:35, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi IP editor 119.73.121.33, Pls note that content added/changed needs to be supported by independent (not connection/affliation with the subject), reliable source(IRS), published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. such as from the major newspapers or books, for verification which is core policy of Wikipedia. Self source can be permitted provided it is only involved the subject "only" where by the info is important/significant to the subject and only use extremely sparingly in the said article. Even the source is independent and reliable the content still does not mean automatically include in the article unless as mentioned above it needs to be demonstrate the significant and important to the article. Many subjects in Wikipedia do have a religion believe, but mostly they are not included as it bear not significant merit tot he subject. Mixeadrticle is not a reliable source. If Pereira personal web site indicate he is a Muslim, then we can use it but if they is no evident that his conversion to the religion stop him from being drunk and subsequently help his career to a new high then the info of his is a Muslim or not has not significant contribution to be included into the article. Hope this help. Cassiopeia talk 05:00, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

IPA needed edit

To crudely use the English IPA for the question's purpose, I'm hearing /pɛˈhrʌ/ (per Joe Rogan) and /pɛˈrʌ/ (Per Jon Anik). Which is it, if either one? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:44, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
