Richard M. Schulze request edit

  Resolved

Hello! On behalf of American businessman Richard M. Schulze, I've submitted an edit request to update the poorly written Philanthropy section of his biography. None of the claims I've proposed are contentious, but I do not edit the main space because of my conflict of interest.

Are any WikiProject Biography members able to take a look at the edit request? Thanks in advance for any feedback or article updates! Inkian Jason (talk) 13:51, 5 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Living People Patrol edit

Hello, all,

I propose merging Wikipedia:Living People Patrol (long defunct) into this group. Specifically, if nobody objects, I would like to WP:MOVE that page to Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Living People Patrol (along with the talk page's archive) and then redirect the (currently blank) talk page here. That way, if anyone goes looking for help, they'll have a chance of finding it.

Please let me know if you think this is a bad idea.

Since there have been no objections either here or there, I'm doing this now. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:20, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Karl Lagerfeld edit requests edit

I'm Marina and I work for the KARL LAGERFELD brand. I have several pending edit requests for the Karl Lagerfeld (the man) Wikipedia article. You can see these requests at the Talk page. Because this WikiProject is listed as a category for that article, I'm hoping that editors here might have an interest in reviewing these requests. Updating the Evan G. Greenberg article edit

Hi editors, this is Brooke, an employee from Chubb Limited. I'm here today because I've posted a (rather large) edit request to Mr. Greenberg's Talk page to revise the current Career section, which is outdated and lacks tons of solid sources I found. If any editors here have any interest in evaluating this request, I would deeply appreciate it. And, just to be clear, I've disclosed my COI on my user page for those who are curious. Former finnish SOF soldier and serial entrepreneur Janne Lehtonen edit

There is a draft for the person in question (Janne Lehtonen).

Janne has served 10+ years in the finnish Navy's special operation forces. He was notably one of the first-ever operator in the unit, along side his fellow collegues of the reality TV programme Erikoisjoukot.

He is also a firefighter, paramedic and serial entrepreneur. I hope someone views this draft of notable Finnish person!

82.197.27.70 (talk) 07:56, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've also contributed to the draft, by adding more specific information and reformated the text a bit. I think that he's notable enough, as he's literally the first SOF soldier of his country! 2001:999:705:5E4:4811:BCBE:7564:29B7 (talk) 19:58, 10 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion nomination for Category:American politicians who are the sole member of their party in statewide office edit

I am commenting to appeal for Keep votes on this deletion entry for Category:American politicians who are the sole member of their party in statewide office. I believe it is an extremely obvious measure of the unique identity of politicians who are incentivized to be "mavericks," as well as electoral geography and power balance. Much of the reasoning for deletion relies on the nominator's as-yet unsourced insistence that categories must permanently apply to pages, rather than be subject to current events or changes in employment, like elections. Others have simply declared this plainly unique status to be non-defining. The Delete voters have been largely unresponsive, and even when they do respond, have been argumentatively selective and engage in sophistry. Thank you very much for your consideration. 1Matt20 (talk) 18:45, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi guys, would anyone like to help me expand this article? On the it.wiki page there are 203 references (https://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabrizio_De_Andr%C3%A9), while on this page there are only 39; this difference is absurd. JacktheBrown (talk) 15:39, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Does "girlfriend"/"boyfriend" count as "partner"? edit

I've edited Gaten Matarazzo infobox to remove the listing of Amy Yu as his "partner" (but I left in the "personal life" item about their relationship). The cited article describes her as his "girlfriend". Does Wikipedia have standard practice/criteria for what qualifies as "partner"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bsammon (talkcontribs) 16:04, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

How to deal with people-lists split by subsections such as current/former/deceased edit

I don't ordinarily deal with biographies and people-list articles, so I thought I'd ask the good folks at WP:BIOGRAPHY for their experience on how similar articles are treated, or maybe even get some links to other similar articles so I can see how those present such categorization.

My question is how to deal with articles that have lists of people that have been separated out by statuses such as current/former/deceased. Of course trying to find a particular person in such an article means you have to scroll through 3 lists to find the one you're looking for, but is it even necessary to split people out? Who is checking to see if someone has died (so as to move the entry to the other section)?

In my case, I'm working on Scientology officials. Earlier it was a list-article, separated by the three sections current/deceased/former (example of old list-only version). It has since been made into a regular article by the addition of non-list content, and renamed to remove the "List of" part of the title, but retains the original list of people (plus some added since then). I had thought of removing the subcategories current/deceased/former and making just one alphabetical list, so I checked each entry to make sure there was sufficient information in each paragraph where a reader could easily see if the person was deceased or a former official (if we even know that information). We almost never know when someone dies or has left the employ, so I think the subsections should be removed.

Are there other similar articles in Wikipedia? Have there been other discussions about this sort of situation that I could read? Any insight would be appreciated.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 15:54, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request for Review and Input on a New Article about Michelle Valberg edit

Hello, WikiProject Biography members,

I recently created a draft article about Michelle Valberg, a renowned Canadian nature and wildlife photographer known for her extensive work, especially in the Arctic regions. This article aims to highlight her career, contributions to photography, and her efforts in environmental and philanthropic activities.

As I prepare to move this draft towards a formal review, I am seeking your expertise to ensure that the article meets Wikipedia's standards for accuracy and neutrality and that it adequately covers her significant contributions to the field of photography.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or edits you could provide to help enhance this article. Here is the link to the draft: Draft:Michelle Valberg
