User:Starfm1027

I blocked him for 24 hours. However, User:Master of Puppets asked me to take another look since he feels you didn't attempt to work things out with him and this user has made helpful edits in the past. Can you provide any perspective on this? You were quite forceful in reverting him ... is there any back story here I should know about? Daniel Case (talk) 18:42, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

As Daniel mentioned, I just felt that you were a bit too hard on the user; when an editor does something wrong, the best course of action is to talk to them and tell them why it's wrong, not paste a template on their talk page and report them to AIV. That's just what I think, anyway. So I'd like to hear what you think. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 18:45, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
If you observed his recent edit, he replaced the contents of the Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig article with the contents of ABS-CBN News Channel. He also did this on the Jack TV article twice. That's why I posted warnings on his talkpage. -WayKurat (talk) 18:51, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I noticed that, but you only gave them template warnings; you didn't tell them why not to do it or anything. I know that what they did was wrong, and I'm not saying it was ok, but they've made some pretty valuable contributions, so I think this block was too hasty. Proposal: I leave a message explaining to the editor not to replace article content, and they are unblocked; how does that sound? Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 22:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
OK, if you think most of his contributions are valuable, unblock him, but you better observe his next contributions. He may disrupt this article again. -WayKurat (talk) 03:55, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I'll talk to the user and tell them that replacing article content isn't right. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:01, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: User:Gerald Gonzalez' sockpuppet

You might check out this user, he created another sockpuppet (User:Jollibee Happy). -WayKurat (talk) 16:16, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you very much for letting me know. I've blocked that sock and I've added the film he's fixating on to protected titles so it can't be recreated. I'll have to remove it eventually but I should be able to keep it there for a couple of weeks. I've also started the category Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Gerald Gonzalez‎. Please let me know if you notice anymore socks. Cheers, Sarah 23:35, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

reply to WayKurat

wow. if you don't want me to make some changes to this page, then be responsible. your info is so outdated and some parts of it are not even true! you put shows that are not even shown in gma pinoy tv. you don't even have pinoy tv so how are you sure about what you are saying? at least tell the subscribers the truth about gma not having CUSTOMER SERVICE! Also tell them that your shows are 1-4 weeks delayed and it replays 1-4 times. and you call this vandalism?

p.s ask your boss about this to see if i am talking lies. if you finds out the truth, then resign!

ray, a concerned GMA PINOY TV subscriber.

as a subscriber, i think i have the right to complain. why did i chose wikipedia? thats because customer doesn't have access to the gma mgnt. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.234.167.173 (talk) 09:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

above guy and Radiospeed were reported to ANI, see Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#sockpupeteer_makes_a_sock_after_unblock --Enric Naval (talk) 17:30, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
I retouched {{Laguna_Radio}} a bit to make the names conformant, and I moved a pair of radio stations to its proper name, but now the "per FM frequency" part makes no sense.... I don't know how to keep mending it, so I'll leave it like this for now. I see that there is an apparently up to date list of philippine radio stations here. Is it useful for checking the articles created by Pinoybandwagon's socks? --Enric Naval (talk) 06:08, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

The ANI thread got archived by Misza. Can you please talk to the admins that blocked Pinoy or his socks and point them to the archived thread, and ask them to block this guy? I'm afraid I won't have time on a pair of days to do this myself. --Enric Naval (talk) 16:38, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Are you really not bias?

Mike 82987 (talk) 21:39, 3 May 2008 (UTC) Hey Mr. WayKurat... R u really not BIASED? What if somebody has edited the contents about ABS-CBN? And included there facts or acclaims about ABS-CBN that Filipinos could be proud of? And yet you are as what I have discovered and reckoned a "proud to be a Kapuso" which technically means that you could have "ALMOST" sided with GMA network ubiquitously... for good or fragrant or flourishing articles about them? Huh? Like what you and HOWARD the DUCK who are advantaged and privileged USERS of the Wikipedia particularly with Philippine-related articles, antipathize my contributions about ABS-CBN. Hence, I have included there an article about the acclaim of ABS-CBN, who was the only Philippine Media Company that included in the list of 2008's Top 10 Most Admired Company in the Philippines by the Wall street Journal Asia. And because you and Howard the duck is a chauvinist of 'Kapuso' for who specifically "SIDES" with GMA network, have deleted nor rejected my contributions about ABS-CBN's honor which GMA network doesn't get. You must be refuted for what you have been doing. Therefore, if you perceived that the article which i have inscribed doesn't make sense, but for the Filipinos like 'Kapamilya' watchers and ABS-CBN, it is not a gobbledygook.. it is momentous because of an article about honor and acclaim to any Filipino company which was reputed to that list and even to the country and our economy. If you might realize that I make sense, then so.. let me continue my contribution regarding that kind of article about ABS-CBN. Because you even let somebody or maybe 'as is' yourself, to be free on including the TV ratings from AGB Neilsen that GMA network has been getting, that could be theoretically inaccurate and confusing due to its correlative controversy, which can even be more rejected than the FACTS that I have edited about ABS-CBN. If you really are undeniably meek to follow Wikipedia's given privilege to the people which bounded with the freedom of the mass to go-and-edit "FACTS" with "REFERENCES", but why it seems at some point you are BIASED to this manner? Please dispute on this or clear yourself... and maybe give you "BENEFIT of THE DOUBT".

P.S. I am not whining on you if you are truthfully conscientious, nor I take this comments for you personally. Mike 82987 (talk) 21:39, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Can we, like, topic-ban Gerald from editing Angel Locsin's article?

Look at what he said to me at YouTube, he PM'd me about my edits:

f*** you you are *** dont let request Angel Locsin's page to be fully protected because i will kill you. **** YOU So much....your a gay...... hahaha....... uve reported me to NrDg in Wikipedia **** you..... Gay.,....

Now is this what you call a non-malicious user? Blake Gripling (talk) 12:16, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I will request to fully protect both the Angel Locsin and Lobo (TV series) article. I just only hope that this request will be approved. -WayKurat (talk) 14:00, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Alaskamilkmen.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Alaskamilkmen.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

All those PRODded hoax articles are now tagged for speedy deletion

Just a quick note: since the username of creator of all those hoax articles (User:Ellineratedj) has been banned as a suspected sockpuppet, I've tagged them all for speedy deletion as vandalism. With any luck, they'll all be gone within the next few hours. I did not tag the redirect that you retargeted as it seems to be harmless enough; the other redirect (formed by an article move) will also disappear by CSD R2. If for some odd reason there are "survivors" 24 hours from now, I'd recommend taking them to AfD right away as it is likely the PROD tags will be gone by then. Apart form the user not active then and the last warning dating back to January 13 it is not really straightforward or obvious vandalism suited for AIV. There are e.g. many content edits that have not even been reverted, others have been reverted without edit summary. If it is a repeat offender, that wasn't obvious from the report or the edits in which case please consider following-up with a report at WP:ANI compiling evidence and diffs and if there are other IPs or ranges to consider. It seems that you are more familiar with this guy than I am, could you please brief as well here?--Lenticel (talk) 14:36, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

I disagree that user 122.54.245.135 is a sock of 203.111.235.50. The former is a sockpuppet of User:Lpkids2006, another notorious user here in English Wikipedia, who keeps on adding hoax information on Philippine and Hong Kong TV related articles. An example of his edits is on the article Enjoy Yourself Tonight in which, he edits the article in such a way that the show will look like it aired from the Philippines than in Hong Kong (see example edit here).
I've also checked Geolocate to both the IP's and it turns out that 122.54.245.135 is from Manila and 203.111.235.50 is from Cagayan de Oro.
I suggest to closely monitor any changes on the tl.wiki's articles for all local broadcast networks since he (Lpkids2006) is now banned here in en.wiki and I think that he found tl.wiki as another place to disrupt. Thanks. -WayKurat (talk) 15:07, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Er. Sorry about that (but I think the block is still okay), I'll notify tl.wiki kapihan about this history.--Lenticel (talk) 15:40, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Gnl ninacastro.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Gnl ninacastro.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Got 'im.

Thanks for alerting me to that thinly disguised sockpuppet account. Someone that single-minded about such a relatively trivial subject just ain't firing on all cylinders, IMO.  :/ Anyway, thanks for the tag; 'twas a pleasure to bag. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:04, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

PS: If you see him again, please let me know. I know you do a lot of work on TV-related articles; that "relatively trivial" comment wasn't directed at you and I didn't want to trivialize your good work in any way. "Jacques" is obviously obsessed with the GMA Television Network. That's different than having an interest in the subject. Anyway, take care and thanks again for the heads-up. Like I said, give a yell if he returns. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:07, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Got 'im again.

Some people never learn, do they? If you'd like, I can semi-protect all of his "pet" articles. Drop me a list on my talk page and I'll do them all the next time I log on. You and any established user will be able to edit the articles, but a new account or sockpuppet will not. The really fun part: I blocked that IP of his for the next six months and I'll clobber any future attempts with the same block. Sure enough, the WHOIS rendered back to a provider in Quezon City. Not too surprising. As always, I'm happy to help. Very late on my side of the world, so I'll say goodnight.  :)

File source problem with File:Aranetacoliseum_logo.png

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Aranetacoliseum_logo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:28, 11 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:28, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Boldfacing

Please stop taking away bold text in Zorro (2009 TV series). Your edits had been reverted. Boldfacing will make the article "BETTER" and "NICER". Do not revert my edits. User:Intellistar —Preceding undated comment added 06:26, 27 July 2009 (UTC).

Conflict on Easy Rock Stations from User:Superastig

User:Superastig keeps removing a bunch of stations from the list (and replacing them with WRock stations which are still owned by ACWS, which may I add), this is despite showing him a list of the official easy rock stations here on his talk page, and he has added on the DWBC article that suggested WRocK Metro Manila will be revived there. I found no sources that ACWS will be reviving a WRocK station in Manila.

I didn't mean to do this. Before, I removed a few Easy Rock Stations without looking at this image. Superastig (talk) 13:46, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

You may want to keep an eye on the MBC/DWRK and its associated pages, I'll give User:Superastig the benefit of the doubt, but I suspect he may be one of the "hoax" editors. --Sb617 (talk · contribs) 16:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes, he has a history of adding hoax radio stations (under his old username User:Pinoybandwagon). Superastig is a sock of Pinoybandwagon. I'll keep on eye on his edits. Thanks for the heads up!!! -WayKurat (talk) 16:23, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Low-powered FM Stations

We already know that Metro Manila's 100.7 The Bone Rocks is true, but it didn't pass WP:N. 100.7 The Bone Rocks only boosts 15 watts. That's why it said that it is found "somewhere in the metro".

Here are the following Low-powered FM Stations:

  • KISS-FM 88.7 Legazpi City
  • Paradise FM 100.5 Legazpi City
  • XFM Naga City (Self-Managed Internet Radio)
  • Ghost Radio Naga City
  • Massive FM 93.5 Baguio City

Are they real or hoax?

It's nice to hear that they have now taken action regarding those vandals. But you have to watch out, especially Lianlaspinas, he has a history of returning as an anon user after being blocked. Now, the next step is to clean up all the articles they have created there. I saw a lot of them, like this one that does not make sense. You can base the English Wikipedia to know if an article there is true or not. -WayKurat (talk) 12:26, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

The TV-listers

This is getting really annoying from the anon IPs at DZTV-TV, DZKB-TV, etc! Is there a standard, guideline, consensus at some wikiproject, or something else that makes it clear these lists are not appropriate? I would be happy to semi-protect the pages, but I would feel more comfortable if it looked more like "they are going against consensus" than just "they disagree with someone else". Speedy deletion declined: Party Of Five (Philippine Version)

Hello WayKurat, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Party Of Five (Philippine Version) - a page you tagged - because: It's not a blatant hoax. PROD or take to AfD. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. GedUK  15:54, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi! I have renominated this article for PROD, but I just want to ask if this article can be deleted as a repost of a previously deleted article (see Party of Five (Philippine Version)). The article was previously deleted via PROD. Thanks. -WayKurat (talk) 16:17, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
No, that criteria only applies where there's been a discussion, which doesn't happen with a PROD. It may, as this has been recreated (which I didn't realise), be better at AfD, otherwise it's liable to get recreated again. If it odes get recreated after an AfD discussion, then the speedy does apply and it can be removed quicker. GedUK  16:22, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello!!

Don't listen that users 202.128.48.224 and 216.117.131.98 (Sock puppet) are trying to include future channels like SkyCable, Global Destiny Cable, Cablelink, Cignal Digital TV among other. I strongly disagree not to post any future in the respect of Philippine Cable and DTH provider due to some valid reason. I am not vandalized those Philippine Cable i try to removed it especially users 202.128.48.224 to make this article reliable but its not true at all. Unless any evidence or news with that certain channel are now promoting in Asia. Except some of American cable channel like WB, Tru TV does not yet exists in Asia except FOX TV Asia are now promoting this channel both STAR TV and Fox Channel in Asia. Please do something to protect or lock the Philippine Cable and DTH article to prevent unauthorized IP User. I begging you!

ABS-CBN Dramas Removed Number of Episode tags

Hello! I was observed that you removed the number of episodes of the said TV shows mostly from ABS-CBN dramas. It is important to know the actual duration of the said show with actual episode counts after the end of the program which is counted in any drama or any TV shows which based on the US TV shows/series with complete details. Except some IP user allegedly vandalized advance episodes which is not air yet which is prohibited from the network itself(But I was surprised and shock). Instead edit for the last week/days episode a week ago and not the advance one! An honestly there no rule or law that prohibit to put the No. of episode. Puppyph (talk) 04:08, 28 November 2011

I have removed the number of episodes section in the infobox templates for all Philippine primetime shows because some anon keeps on using "future" dates. The anon frequently edits any show from ABS-CBN, GMA Network and TV5, and he/she adds the episode count usually one month ahead. This vandal has been editing here in Wikipedia since last year, and after several warnings, that guy just ignores them. If you can commit that you can maintain the number of episodes that ACTUALLY aired, and you will not use future dates, the templates can stay. -WayKurat (talk) 09:03, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Ok I agree, I just put the actual numbers of show but for ABS-CBN shows only (No offense for the other networks) for now I put the actual episodes per show (which already broadcast on-air fresh new episodes) and not use the future dates which is prohibit from ABS-CBN itself, one for which didn't air yet! But we know who's unknown IP provider edited are honest or even as a vandal one! Thanks! Puppyph (talk) 06:15, 28 November 2011
