November 2021 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Le Chant du départ. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Question about Wiki user pages edit

I want to know if it is allowed to make "special" user pages like AVand's for regular users like me. If it is allowed, how do I make one? And can I just copy one of them?

We're all "regular users" here. User page content need only comply with WP:USERPAGE. If you want to pattern your user page after someone else's, I would suggest asking their permission, and if given, note it in the edit summary. 331dot (talk) 10:40, 11 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Alright, thank you TinGamerTV (talk) 10:43, 11 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
What if that specific user is inactive, like AVand? Does that mean I can't pattern my user page after theirs? TinGamerTV (talk) 10:47, 11 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
All content on Wikipedia is licensed CC-by-SA 3.0 unless otherwise noted, you can copy it for your userpage without getting an approval of the user in question. Notifying the user is just a courtesy, but you should note whom you copied from in the edit summary. By the way, there are hundreds of other (active) users with userpages styled like this, you can ask them too, or even better, try designing your own. Have fun styling your userpage! :-) -Vipz (talk) 15:31, 11 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

In my user page, can I put some code counting the number of contributions I've made to Wikipedia? edit

Hey,

I'm currently working on my user page, but I want to know. Is it possible to put some code in that will count the number of contributions I've made to Wikipedia? If so, what's the code? Thank you! TinGamerTV (talk) 10:24, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

To my knowledge there is no such template, but you could always link to an edit counter, for example with {{Edit count link}}. ■ ∃ Madeline ⇔ ∃ Part of me ; 11:58, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! TinGamerTV (talk) 12:04, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
mw:Extension:Editcount would be able to do it if English Wikipedia had it installed. -Vipz (talk) 05:45, 13 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

NOTHERE edit

As far as I can tell, you are WP:NOTHERE, meaning in your case that you are not contributing in any significant way to improving Wikipedia. You are spending almost all your time using Wikipedia as a mini-playground for your own entertainment. You are creating userboxes and sticking them on your userpage. You are creating templates that, even if they are not "vandalism", are unnecessary and childish. You just created an alternative account for no legitimate purpose. Thus far, the few edits you've made with that account are to do the same thing you are doing with your main account, i.e., mess around with templates and userboxes. This is your only warning. If you don't start to edit articles in a constructive and competent manner, you risk being blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:30, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
