Tumbling Dice

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article "Tumbling Dice" has been completed.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

There are a couple of things I'll draw to your attention. I removed the word "chateau" In the Background and development section since it is not referred by that term in its WP article. Charlie Watts is quoted as saying "marinade". The correct word here should be "marinate", but I checked the source and he did say it, so I added sic after it. I also masked some details that were repeated in the Writing and development section. It's a toss up to me where this belongs. I've removed (1972) after every mention but one following Exile on Main Street. The year is mentioned once, repeated mentions are unnecessary and look odd. Incomplete quotations always have periods outside the final quotation mark (".). Fixed them. Numbers 1 through 9 are spelled out according to the MOS. They must also be in a consistent form, so I removed several "No."s. Finally, there were several mentions of recording in the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. From all I've read this was an engineering studio not a recording studio. The recording took place in the villa's basement.

Best of luck with the FA when you get to it.

Regards,

Promotion of Red (Taylor Swift album)

Congratulations, TheSandDoctor! The article you nominated, Red (Taylor Swift album), has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Buidhe (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:06, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Congratulations on bringing Red (Taylor Swift album) to FA status! Keep up the great work! Ronherry (talk) 05:30, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
@Ronherry: Thank you! I am flattered  . I've seen you around a fair bit and like your work. If you'd like to help further with it, the critical reception section does need some love per Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Red (Taylor Swift album)/archive1 (but not enough to fail FA). User_talk:Mike_Christie#Red_(Taylor_Swift_album) as well. I will try my best to work at it, but would love some help as well if you are willing/able. --TheSandDoctor Talk 05:32, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
Yes, sure! I will look into it and see what I can do. Ronherry (talk) 05:38, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Question from Christopher2280 on The Gideons International (17:04, 5 November 2021)

Hi, I want to know more about Gideon bible --Christopher2280 (talk) 17:04, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

@Christopher2280: This isn't exactly a question I can help with as I know nothing about it and isn't the purpose of the mentorship program (helping you learn to edit, guiding around policies etc.). I would suggest looking it up in the browser of your choice and reading the Wikipedia article linked in this section heading. --TheSandDoctor Talk 17:09, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

Hello TheSandDotor

I am a student a the Fernandina Beach high school and also the school president, i am currently the one in charge of our Wikipedia page i am trying to obtain the rollback capability. It would mean a lot to me and my team, Thank you! Williamvr (talk) 15:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Williamvr (talkcontribs) 15:00, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

@Williamvr: Articles aren't "owned" by anyone. I would also bring to your attention the conflict of interest policy and the rollback guideline. In short, rollback is only used for reverting obvious vandalism or your own edits. It is typically requested through Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rollback and needs a demonstrated need -- aka sufficient work reverting vandalism on a variety of topics. While administrators such as myself are able to grant it at our discretion, I doubt that you will find one who will give it out without demonstrated need. I am happy to help answer any questions you may have. --TheSandDoctor Talk 21:01, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Mick Jagger

Hello:

As I go through and copy edit Mick Jagger I'm going to change No.1 etc... to "number" one. An FA reviewer was adamant that No. 1 etc... could not be used but I can't remember which article he was reviewing. I now can't find any consensus on this in the MOS, but I think "number" followed by the number in words is "untouchable". If you disagree let me know. It's easily changed.

@Twofingered Typist: That sounds fine to me. Thank you for looking out for me on that! --TheSandDoctor Talk 20:57, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Re: your DYK nomination of Good Time Women...

... thanks for getting me into "Tumbling Dice"! I've been listening to it on repeat. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/them) 07:25, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

@Theleekycauldron: I'm glad to be of service! It truly is a magnificent tune; having it on repeat is a good thing haha! Probably one of their best, in my opinion, and really catchy. The history of it, as I added to the article, is really cool as well! I hope to take it to FAC some day soon... --TheSandDoctor Talk 08:28, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
it really is catchy! best of luck on the FAC, let me know if I can't help out here and there :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/them) 20:17, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
@Theleekycauldron: I will let you know when it goes up! I could definitely use a bit of assistance addressing the points raised above around the critical reception section...that's probably the largest holdup at this stage. On topic but off-wiki: their two (official) live versions are also really quite good, if you are into concert versions of things. Mick's athleticism in '78 (link) and again in '90 (link) is really just amazing...he's still doing it too! Just amazing & really quite awesome...something we can all strive for fitness wise I guess haha   --TheSandDoctor Talk 05:40, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

Jagger

Hello:

Please have a look at my last edit which combines Jagger's relationships and children together. This is an attempt to deal with proseline issues. I masked the original text so if you don't agree with this you can simply revert my edit. I won't do any more until I hear from you on this. Twofingered Typist (talk) 15:52, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

@Twofingered Typist: It looks good to me! No complaints. --TheSandDoctor Talk 16:19, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Great, I'll carry on. Twofingered Typist (talk) 16:21, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

Happy Red (Taylor's Version) release day! -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 23:18, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

@Guerillero: Haha! Same to you! I ordered the CD yesterday...after midnight eastern time, but it was evening my time so yeah...I guess I "pre-ordered"   --TheSandDoctor Talk 23:38, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

Request for FAC help

Hello again! I hope you are doing well and staying safe. Apologies for the random message. I was wondering if you could help with my current FAC? I know it is a very different type of music than what you usually edit, but I still wanted to reach out to ask. I completely understand if you do not have the time or interest. Either way, best of luck with everything on and off Wikipedia. Aoba47 (talk) 20:06, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Advice about correcting my mistake in discussion

You recently closed discussion on victim name treatment in the Kenosha killing. I’m embarrassed by my mistake in thinking the victims were black. Can I withdraw or strike though my mistake? Any advice or links appreciated. Dw31415 (talk) 20:24, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

@Dw31415: Go ahead. You can add the comment about striking it below the {{archive bottom}} template in that section. --TheSandDoctor Talk 00:00, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
