Please slow down the "disambiguations"

Hi, please slow down with your botanical "disambiguations"! You seem to be assuming that all of the world's knowledge is already in Wikipedia, but for botany that is far from the case. I've only just started looking at your edits from one day, and the first two that I've looked at are wrong. It would be much better to leave things alone, please. Nadiatalent (talk) 15:07, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

Your edit to Cactus

I notice that you made a copy-edit to Cactus. I'm assuming that you're from the US, since I realize that "southwest" is the US style rather than the British "south west" or "south-west". I'm making major changes to this article, which should be in American English, and I'm sure that being British I will make some WP:ENGVAR mistakes, however hard I try not to. So if you do have time to check occasionally, I would be grateful. Peter coxhead (talk) 22:16, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Your edit to Andes

Tdslk, thanks a lot for your kind advice. Now I shifted it to "Dry Andes". I think that is the accurate place indeed for that information. Hopefully you agree. Tulino (talk) 15:32, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Decapitalization of common names

If you are going to decapitalize the common names of plants (which, as noted at Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(flora)#Scientific_versus_common_names, does not have consensus within WP:PLANTS), then you need to do so consistently. So you might like to finish off Pseudotsuga menziesii var. menziesii where you seem to have stopped before the end of the article. Peter coxhead (talk) 06:59, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

A bowl of strawberries for you!

Thank you for your kind words on my talk page. Congratulations on the stupendous copyediting effort; Wikipedia would be quite useless (and extremely weird) without it. Nadiatalent (talk) 17:37, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

German Peasants' War

Hello Tdslk. Dianna has pointed out to me that User:Lfstevens is copy editing German Peasants' War, perhaps from the requests page, and that you have also edited it, presumably from the copyedit tag that you removed yesterday. Please would you and he touch base to agree how you'd like to proceed? I'd be happy for you both to take credit for the article as a Request, with the 50% bonus, if that's what you agree. Please let me know if any help is required with this. Kind regards. --Stfg (talk) 23:00, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

I edited it because it had been tagged, I didn't actually realize it was on the requests page (but I'll happily take the bonus!). I'm done editing it now, and it looks like User:Lfstevens went through the whole thing, so it should probably be marked as done on the requests page. Tdslk (talk) 23:15, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. Yes, do take the bonus, and so can Lfstevens. I'll look at the article tomorrow and probably archive the request, crediting you both in the archive. Best, --Stfg (talk) 23:18, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your advice. I shall follow it.
Do you advise me to remove it from the guild's Talk? –

I don't think the section needs to be deleted from the guild talk page. If you leave it there, it will eventually get archived. Maybe add a brief note to say that further discussion should occur at talk:copy editing? Tdslk (talk) 19:42, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tdslk!

You asked me about why I added a copy edit tag on the article Federman, Michigan. The article does look fine. Sorry for the mistake and thanks for catching it. By the way, how did you come by that article? Thanks again.

Minor growl

Jim Ramsbottom- concur totally, speedy it if you wish. I do take objection to the template you placed on my talk page- it was totally OTT and the use of a second ==Heading== instead of a ===Subheading=== breaks the formatting of the TOC. Including the patronising text about welcoming all contributions is just unprofessional. You need to use a different template when addressing editors with 10K+ edits to their name.

Other than that keep up the good work- come round for a coffee some time. -- Clem Rutter (talk) 11:07, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

A little more help with Winton Capital Management

Hi there Tdslk, thank you again for your help with my earlier request for the Winton Capital Management article. I am looking for help with another request I've posted on the Talk page, this time to make some updates to the introduction. Since you last helped me on the Winton article User:Stalwart111 made some other edits on my behalf, which you can see the discussion about here, and I think the introduction should be brought in line with these changes. I have checked with him to see if he could help with the introduction as well, however he appears to be busy elsewhere. I'm hoping you can help with this final request as you have some familiarity with the article now. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 02:19, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi WWB Too and Tdslk. Apologies, I've been editing fairly constantly over the last few weeks and completely missed the ping for the edit you made to my talk page. I can help out if you like but I won't stand in the way if Tdslk wants to have a look. Feel free to ping me. Cheers, Stlwart111 07:16, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your help Tdslk, and your willingness to help, Stalwart. As I mentioned on the Winton Talk page all of the requests I have for that article are now complete. However, I do have a Winton-related request I would appreciate help with if either of you have more time to offer.
A few weeks ago I posted a request on the David Harding Talk page looking to make some factual updates based on the recent leadership changes at Winton, as well as some other recent press. I've left a message on WikiProject Biography and with an editor who helped me on that article last year but have yet to hear anything. The full request is here if either of you wanted to take a look. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 20:14, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi again Tdslk. Thanks for the help on the David Harding article. I've left one follow up comment on the Talk page about correcting Harding's title in the article. If you're busy, let me know and I'll check in with Stalwart. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 22:26, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks again. There's actually one last bit left to be done, if it isn't too much. I noticed that the article still states that Harding is president as of 2013.
What do you think about removing and as of 2013 is its president.[2] from the last paragraph of the Winton Capital Management section? Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 15:44, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi again, Tdslk. I was able to locate a source that can be used to update the annualized return rate in the David Harding article. I've replied in detail about this on the Talk page in order to keep our conversation centralized for the benefit of other editors. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 17:46, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
Hey, sorry this thank-you is so delayed; I was out of town and mostly away from Wikipedia for the last week and a half. I see that you made those final updates to the David Harding article. Thank you very much for your help. I have no more requests for that page for the time being so I've closed the request edit tag. Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 18:24, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Wilhelmina Will has given you some caramel and a candy apple! Caramel and candy-coated apples are fun Halloween treats, and promote WikiLove on Halloween. Hopefully these have made your Halloween (and the proceeding days) much sweeter. Happy Halloween!

'"On Psych, A USA Network TV series Episode 8, The Tao of Gus, Season 6, Shawn refers to pumpkins as "Halloween Apples" because he thinks all round fruits are a type of apple.

Another couple of changes for David Harding

Hi there Tdslk, as you may recall, you helped me earlier this year with some updates for the David Harding (finance) article and I was hoping you might be able to assist again. There are a couple of edits that I'm requesting for the article, to add in some more recent noteworthy events for Harding: his entry into the "Hedge Fund Hall of Fame" and his foundation's donation to create a math gallery in the Science Museum in London. If you have a moment, would you be able to review my edit request and make the additions if you feel they're reasonable? Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 15:56, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Stylization of the "common name"

In January 2013 there was a "RfC on COMMONSTYLE proposal" at WT:AT in which you expressed an interest. FYI there is a similar debate taking place at the moment, see Wikipedia talk:Article titles#Stylization of the "common name" -- PBS-AWB (talk) 12:19, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

WP:IELE "Interlanguage" has a specific meaning

  • Hi I guess you mean the word "interlanguage" in WP:IELE to suggest cooperation b/w speakers of 2 languages, but the term has a specific meaning which might evoke connotations of "poor editing skills" etc. See interlanguage, though that article kinda sucks. • ArchReader 04:55, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Oh dear. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Yes, I did intend to imply cooperation between two languages. I had also considered using "cross-language" at one point; perhaps it is not too late to change the name. I see that you are a linguistics expert. Do you have any other thoughts and suggestions for the Wikiproject? They would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tdslk (talk) 06:22, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
  • It's not too late to change; just page-move all the relevant pages. Also, you can copy the format of existing wikiproject pages to yours. For example, there should be a place to join, a page that lists all members, etc. • ArchReader 06:28, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Okay. I just moved the page, and will get to work on fixing the text. There's a place to join under each language subpage. I thought it would be more efficient to group participants by language. Tdslk (talk) 06:38, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
  • I would put one and only one place to join, with an added question about what area one wishes to edit. Make it easy to see/find, too... • ArchReader 07:35, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Hey, sorry for the delay. I was in Berlin for the Wikimedia Conference. But, I've now had a chance to look over your project and I think the purpose is definitely clear and the formatting looks great. Most WikiProject capitalize the "P" in "project", but I don't think it is required. I think now it is just the problem of gaining traction and traffic. I would definitely drop a note at Wikipedia:WikiProject X and announce its start. You may even see if any of the ideas/tools being discussed there are applicable to WP:CLELE. I would also post announcements at other language-related projects and pages here and at Meta. I'm sure there are some Babel-related pages at the latter. I saw you posted a note on the Signpost talk page, which is great. Be on the lookout for editors who like translating articles and invite them to participate, and also consider posting an invite at the Teahouse in case there are newbies or experienced Teahouse participants who would like this concept as well. Congrats on getting the project launched and I wish it great success! Of course, feel free to let me know if you have other questions or concerns, and hope to see you again soon. ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:08, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

Merged Arattupuzha Panchayth to Arattupuzha#Panchayath

I found an article that you proposed for deletion and decided it would work as a merge since the Panchayath would be something within the village that your tag suspected it was a duplicate of. The article still isn't great but at least it's all a single article now. I have just recently made my way back to Wikipedia so if you have any concerns with what I did let me know here. That's fine. Welcome back to Wikipedia! Tdslk (talk) 07:21, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
