JLO fragrances

Hey! :) sounds immature, but i saw Britney had all these wikipedia pages for her fragrances and i thought dammit JLo needs some too! Im working on pages for ALL of her fragrances, disregarding the mini lines of perfume like that Deseo thingy (ill make 1 page for that), etc. I worked on the JLO by Jennifer Lopez page...not that good but its okay :) Please take a look? Also, I am going to start from Love and Light and work myself backwards for her fragrances. Its not gonna be flooded with info, obviously, but ill source it good and add all the right info :) Nearly done the Love & Light page :).. hope you don't think they (perfumes) are too irrelevant :\ its something im desperate to do for JLo's pages :) and its a great reference to have those pages and is of public interest...what do u think? Deletion

It was written in a highly promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Although you went to some trouble to provide references, such essentially spammy claims cannot be sourced to dubiously neutral sites. You need to provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Even then, you would need to write an encyclopaedia article rather than would could well have passed for a publicity release.

It's a good thing to have articles on this sort of topic, which is poorly represented, but for a commercial product you need to take great care with neutrality and sourcing Jimfbleak - talk to me? 17:14, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey I'm open to working on her perfume stuff :) As long as they aren't deleted in 0.5 seconds of it being published, lol. Are we doing it all in one page? Or in separate pages (Like one page for the Glow stuff, then another for the deseo stuff and another one for Love & light + love & glamour)?:)Just give me some perfumes to get stuff about and I'll do it. Hey!!! :) How are you? Im trying to work on her albums page atm, but not getting far -- i got some done for the remixes ;) Please check it out. OMG there is a user:Sola2012 they keep changing the Como ama una mujer page to "It sold 45,000 copies in its first week. It has sold 2,000,000 copies already," and they give random sources leading to the CURRENT Billboard 200, etc. -.- And they are like to me "As you notice we are in 2012 not 2007" but i added "It HAD sold 800,000 copies by August 2007" because there is no OTHER source. I did not see this guideline (Caps related)

There is a guideline at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization) which states in an article about foreign-language names: "If the article is about a work in a foreign language (such as a book or other written work, movie, album, or song), using the capitalization found in most English language reliable sources is recommended". I don't know how I or how the consensus to use WP:ALBUMCAPS overlooked this part. I really apologized if I have caused any inconviences. Erick (talk) 07:34, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Right and it makes no sense to ignore what reliable sources like Allmusic & Billboard track listing. Even Encyclopedia Britannica doesn't follow native customs to foreign-language names. At the least, I'm glad we got that out of the way. :) Erick (talk) 07:52, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Plausible redirect

I am generally in favour of deleting implausible redirects but when I saw your speedy tag on Como Ama una Mujer, I was shocked. By all means tag it for deletion but do not do so until you have fixed all the incoming links from the (article) namespace. Also, please do not re-instate {{User talk:Status/Header}} on this page until you have fixed the page widening that it causes. Nice work, glad somebody finally did something with the page. Few questions: shouldn't The Simpsons Bowling be mentioned somewhere on the list? Well there arn't really many free-use images that would relevant, so if you are going to use a fair-use image I'd suggest the box art of the highest selling game, with I'm guessing is either Hit and Run or the Simpsons Game. Gran² 10:26, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2012 March newsletter

We are over half way through the second round of this year's WikiCup and things are going well! Grapple X (submissions), of Pool B, is our highest overall scorer thanks to his prolific writings on television and film. In second place is Pool H's Cwmhiraeth (submissions), thanks primarily to work on biological articles, especially in marine biology and herpetology. Third place goes to Pool E's Casliber (submissions), who also writes primarily on biology (including ornithology and botany) and has already submitted two featured articles this round. Of the 63 contestants remaining, 15 (just under a quarter) have over 100 points this round. However, 25 are yet to score. Please remember to update your submission pages promptly. 32 contestants, the top two from each pool and the 16 next-highest scorers, will advance to round 3.

Congratulations to Matthewedwards (submissions), whose impressive File:Wacht am Rhein map (Opaque).svg became the competition's first featured picture. Also, congratulations to 12george1 (submissions), who claimed good topic points, our first contestant this year to do so, for his work on Wikipedia:Featured topics/1982 Atlantic hurricane season. This leaves featured topics and featured portals as the only sources of points not yet utilised. However, as recent statistics from Miyagawa (submissions) show, no source has yet been utilised this competition to the same extent it has been previously!

It has been observed that the backlogs at good article candidates are building up again. While the points for good article reviews will be remaining constant, any help that can be offered keeping the backlog down would be appreciated. On a related note, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.
