PCIVG... and PCIRG

Hi Soman. I don't know anything about the PCIVG, but I will try to help you. First of all it is really interesting to understand that there was a party, the Italian Communist Party of the Giulian Region (Partito Comunista della Regione Giulia, PCIRG), formed in 1945, which included Italians (or, better, Venetians!), Croats and Slovenes. As far as I understand from this source the Sindacati Unici was a parallel organization of the PCIRG, while the Sindacati Giuliani was an emanation of the PCI and, in fact, it asked to be recognized by the CGIL, which was PCI-dominated. Subsequently, in February 1946, the Italian Communist Front (FCI) was launched as a competitor of the PCIVG and was later transformed into PCIVG in March 1946 (see here, p. 6). Thus, yes, the birth of the Sindacati Giuliani predated the foundation of the PCIVG and opened the way for it. Actually, the PCI did not distance from the PCIVG until the 1946 general election. After that, the PCI endorsed the FCI (see pp. 81-82 of the doctoral dissertation by Patrick Karlsen).

I don't have time to edit the article right now (I have many articles to update today!) and I frankly don't have the knowledge to do it. Anyway, I think that both the PCIRG and the PCIVG deserve an article. Would you mind to craft an article on the PCIRG too? Take care, --Checco (talk) 12:11, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback! There is an article on PCRG, the Communist Party of the Free Territory of Trieste (its later name). --Soman (talk) 19:56, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Confederazione dei Sindacati Unici Classisti del Territorio libero di Trieste

Hello! Your submission of Confederazione dei Sindacati Unici Classisti del Territorio libero di Trieste at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! PM800 (talk) 04:59, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Would you be able to expand this article any further? I think with a hundred words or so of additional information you would be able to alleviate the length objection. Perhaps additional information about the organization's leader(s)? 28bytes (talk) 02:21, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Myself, no. I've added virtually all relevant material I could find. The only way for expansion that I can see is if anyone who could search Slovenian or Serbo-Croat sources could chip in. I will post requests on the talk pages of some people. --Soman (talk) 03:15, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
OK. We'll keep the nomination open a little while longer then to give them a chance to respond. Thanks, 28bytes (talk) 03:29, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Autonomous Party or Mitrovica

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Autonomous Party or Mitrovica requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — Kedaditalk 19:02, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Re: CSUCTLT

Hey! I will try to find something, but so far I haven't come across any specific sources regarding this trade union. The articles/books I know mostly deal with political parties and organization, and tend to overlook the aspect of trade union organisation. I'm sure there is stuff, but so far I can't promise anything. Best, Viator slovenicus (talk) 19:22, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for helping! Just a brief question, what would be the Slovenian translation of 'Classisti'? Google translate can't handle that type of terminology. --Soman (talk) 00:54, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Razredni is the plural nominative form. The whole Slovene name was probably Zveza enotnih razrednih sindikatov Svobodnega tržaškega ozemlja. Viator slovenicus (talk) 15:11, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I have checked Slovenian, Croatian and Serbian wikipedia. There is no data about this trade union. I have also checked on google to find something, but I wasn't successful (Zdravko mk (talk) 08:54, 15 November 2010 (UTC))

Colonial-era politics in French Africa

Hi Soman. I see you've contributed quite a lot to articles on colonial-era politics in French Africa. I've been creating election articles to all these countries, but am at a loss for the majority of pre-independence elections (both those for the French National Assembly and the local Territorial Assemblies). Do you know of any online sources where I could find the information? Or perhaps you fancy creating some yourself? :) A good start would be to add redlinks to the election year templates for the elections which took place, but are missing articles - I guess most of them have three or four pre-independence Territorial elections (I've just added links to the French National Assembly elections), but I don't know the years when they took place. Cheers, Number 57 15:36, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Let me have a check in some sources after about 10-11 hours, and I will get back to you. Thanks, --Soman (talk) 15:50, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
In French West Africa, the territorial assembly elections were held in 1957. see Upper Volta territoral assembly election, 1957. --Soman (talk) 15:56, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
Seemingly in AEF as well, Chadian parliamentary election, 1957. --Soman (talk) 15:58, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Kamraj Desiya Congress

The article Kamraj Desiya Congress has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references finds only a single very minor published (gBooks) reference to the subject, fails WP:V and WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SWP vs SW'P

Well, if it's not correct, I'll change it back... but pages such as this one seem kind of silly with half the pages having apostrophes and half not. Is it one way, or is it the other? Can we make a principle about it and stick with it for the entire encyclopedia? If we can, great, no matter which way it goes. And another thing -- I'll even volunteer to do the massive cleanup that's required to make it so!! Jsharpminor (talk) 21:01, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Could we have

Indonesian organisations with english names as title of article and the indonesian name as the aka please? SatuSuro 03:15, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

In the case of trade unions, I prefer the original names (in cases were Latin script is used). SOBRI and Sarbupri would generally be referred to as SOBRI and Sarbupri in English texts, and translations would just be confusing. There are some 8-10 other estate unions of the 1950s that articles can be created about, if all names are translated they become largely similar (and thus, confusing). --Soman (talk) 03:18, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
ok can concede that aspect - only as long as the translated full name is included in the lead sentence! - your preference may be one thing - but hey the average unwashed reader is not up with the indonesian acronyms of the 1950's - well not the last time i smelt the general attitude to the word java for instance - cheers SatuSuro 06:52, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
hmm Partai Comunis Indonesia - yeah so? where did it go? just because it existed - if it was a relative nonentity - why not leave it in the main communist articles? SatuSuro 12:34, 29 November 2010 (UTC) Nah dont bother - the whole project to identify the various aspects of the left is not being balanced by some of the crazy other stuff - my detailed records of one of the 1950's local elections in yogyakarta shows up to 27 or 28 separate tickets in each separate district in Yogya - Im outta this one - dont be suprised if someone tackles you for over-detail of the left compared to the absence of articles about the others - keep up the good work anyways SatuSuro 12:46, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
