Speedy deletion nomination of Raphaël Mapou

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Raphaël Mapou requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. July 2022

edit

Hello, I'm Wikipelli. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Hanover Park, Cape Town, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Wikipelli Talk 23:33, 5 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to David Hogg, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. ––FormalDude talk 00:00, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Routine alert for a topic area under discretionary sanctions

edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in governmental regulation of firearm ownership; the social, historical and political context of such regulation; and the people and organizations associated with these issues. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Dealing with blocked users

edit

Hello, I noticed you created a user page for a blocked user. There's no need to tag users like that. Please do not grave dance. In the case of a user being blocked for sockpuppetry, a SPI clerk will take care of the tagging. Let me know if you have any questions about that. – NJD-DE (talk) 19:59, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Questions

edit

Hi - a user reported that they suspected that this account was being used by someone who was previously subject to a block for vandalism. I've taken a look, and while I think you have a few questions to answer, I don't want to block you at this time because you appear to be performing constructive edits now. Please would you look in at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cagaswept and answer the questions I posed there? You should put your responses in the 'Comments by other users' section. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox

edit

I am not exactly sure what you were aiming for, but I do know that it has nothing to do with Wikipedia editing--so I deleted it per WP:NOTWEBHOST. Please don't post such content. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 04:41, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Drmies: I don't mean to step on your toes here, but I see the content there as sufficiently disruptive to necessitate a block, and so have indeffed. Will email you with further thoughts. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 05:15, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

February 2023

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 05:15, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Appeal for block

Request reason:

My sandbox page was an inside joke not meant to be viewed by anyone immediately outside of my friend group. I didn't do anything harmful outside of that page, and I understand if you feel that pages like my sandbox were unconstructive for wikipedia as a whole. I apologize if there was any distress or problems caused for anyone outside of the intended viewers

Decline reason:

There are no private areas on Wikipedia(though some are harder to find than others). If you don't want the general public to see what you are doing, you shouldn't put it on Wikipedia. This isn't free web space for you to fool around and entertain your friends, this is a serious project to write an encyclopedia of human knowledge. Your apology is appreciated, but to unblock you we will need to know what constructive edits you will make going forward. 331dot (talk) 09:36, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
