March 2024

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 01:17, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for the warning. That article was completely old and wrong, based on common knowledge in the networking world. As a manner of fact, there are couple of warning in the article that suggests corrections should be made. I can look for citations, but for now I have used my knowledge of 34 years of data networking :) Sezen.uysal (talk) 01:21, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
To quote the policy I just linked above: Do not add unsourced material from your personal experience MrOllie (talk) 01:48, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the policy reminder. I will look for a reputable citation and make the changes referring to it. Sezen.uysal (talk) 02:02, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Draft:Roqos, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:51, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for the warning. But I couldn't find a way to dispute that accusation, except I send a message to the editor. It would have been nicer that the editor send me a message, rather than pasting that template/tag there.
I really wanted to contribute Wikipedia (as much as I support it), but the editorial process is hard to follow unfortunately! Wiki.Lower (talk) 17:58, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Our maintenance templates are there to help other Wikipedians address problems so you need not dispute the accusation other than to post on the draft's talk page. Our volunteer editors are busy and are not required to give you, the draft creator, a specific message when tagging articles. I don't think you want to contribute to our encyclopedia because here you are, promoting your company. How about you forget your draft and instead join our Guild of Copy Editors? That's probably the best way for you to contribute to Wikipedia. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:32, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Problems with upload of File:Roqos logo.svg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Roqos logo.svg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:30, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Sezen.uysal. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 02:54, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
