Speedy deletion nomination of User:Saugaat yashvardhan/Cgcel

edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Saugaat yashvardhan/Cgcel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 15:13, 13 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Saugaat yashvardhan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jmertel23 (talk) 14:13, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disclosure of paid editing

edit

Hello Saugaat yashvardhan. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Saugaat yashvardhan. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Saugaat yashvardhan|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message.

A tag has been placed on CGCEL, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic.   Hello, I'm Jmertel23. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Crompton Greaves, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:04, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I assure the Wikipedia community that I haven't been doing this for any financial interest. I shall stick to the Wikipedia guidelines in future. I shall also work towards continuously improving Wikipedia. In case the guidelines are violated again you can block me. Please unblock me this time and undo the deletion of the CGCEL Wikipedia page. It is a humble request from a relatively new user. Saugaat yashvardhan (talk) 10:43, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell the world about a business, as your drafts attempted to do. This is an encyclopedia, where article subjects must be shown with independent reliable sources with in depth coverage how the subject is notable. Not every company merits an article here, even within the same field. If you are an employee of the company or otherwise represent the company here, it is indeed a financial interest as you would be editing as part of your job duties, and you must declare it per WP:PAID(this is a Terms of Use requirement). It is also a conflict of interest. If you are just here to tell the world about your company, you won't be unblocked. If there are other subjects that you want to edit about, you may make another unblock request telling what those subjects are. I am declining this request. 331dot (talk) 11:39, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am not a paid employee of the company. I was working there as an intern and there isn't any conflict of interest. This company needs a Wikipedia page not for publicity but to avoid confusion between 2 big separately listed companies. It is a request to unblock me. I assure you that future editions shall be backed by proper referencing. Saugaat yashvardhan (talk) 11:59, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

From the policy: Interns are considered employees for this purpose. If they are directed or expected to edit Wikipedia as part of an internship, they must disclose. What your company needs is no concern of Wikipedia's. You will not be unblocked if you intend to continue editing about Crompton Greaves; if you would like to edit regarding other topics, please expound on them in a new unblock request. Request reason:

I was working as an unpaid intern at Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited(CGCEL) and creating a Wikipedia page was a part of the project allotted to me. However it was an unpaid internship and the sole purpose of creating a page was providing information and not publicity or promotion. I will not make any editions to the Crompton Greaves page without proper referencing. Please unblock me and observe me over the next few weeks. I will make useful editions to Wikipedia pages related to sports, India and Indian politics. Saugaat yashvardhan (talk) 06:44, 24 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

No. We've already told you, you won't be unblocked to continue editing Crompton Greaves. I'm also disturbed that you still bring up "unpaid intern". Whether you were paid or not is irrelevant. You had a conflict of interest and were wrong to falsely claim you did not have a conflict. Yamla (talk) 11:43, 24 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

I agree to not editing the Wikipedia page of Crompton Greaves. I will make useful editions to pages related to sports, India and Indian politics. However, can I please get the permission to create a page for CGCEL? It will be an unbiased page citing reliable references and it will not lead to unnecessary promotion of the organization. We require a level of competency you are failing to demonstrate here.
