This message is being sent to inform you of a Wikipedia picnic that is being held in your area next Saturday, June 25. From 1 to 8 PM or any time in between, join your fellow volunteers for a get together at Norman's Landscape (directions) in Manhattan's Central Park.
Take along your friends (newbies permitted), your family and other free culture enthusiasts! You may also want to pack a blanket, some water or perhaps even a frisbee.

I can respect that you have concerns over the article's current state, but notability requires only the existence of suitable independent, reliable sources, not their immediate citation in an article. I politely urge you to withdraw this 3-week-later premature-renomination as being too soon. lack of immediate effort is not a sound deletion reason, nor is it a reason to force cleanup of an article determined by others as surmountable issues best addressed over time and through normal editing. Toward WP:NRVE and WP:GNG, we DO have some quite decent reliable independent secondary sources available toward this person and her work: Herald Newsday 1 Newsday 2 Newsday 3 Newsday 4Patch 1 Patch 2 Patch 3 Leisure and Sports Review Disagreeing with it or not, editors should respect consensus and understand that addressable issues are never valid reasons to renominate for deletion. The most interesting thing to me is the possibility that the alleged win in the national myspace comedy contest, oft repeated uncritically, never happened. It was out of the article last I looked. - Do you think it's necessary to put back that whole thing? Upon rereading it, it seems an awful lot like a reamble. I understand where you're coming from about continuity, but for the sake of people's time, do you think there's a middle ground of information I can re-add?
- For futire reference, it's not always good to change text in a comment after someone else has responded. Best to use a

While a neutral tag alerting interested individuals to an AFD discussion is fine, saying that you feel your view is the correct one so as to encourage they should vote a specific way is not. IE: "I reread the guidelines and really felt they would have applied" See WP:CANVAS. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:59, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
- I was responding to a comment he made in the last discussion "Work on toning up our notability requirements to clearly reject such "local-kid-gets-mocked-a-little-bit-online" notability." I didn't include any bias beyond this response, or explicitly tell him to vote a certain way. I made an effort to avoid canvasing by adding tags to the talk pages of users who had voted both ways in the previous AfD. Rogerthat94 (talk) 05:31, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

  You are invited to join us for a full afternoon and evening of social Wikipedia editing at the Guggenheim (drop-in any time, noon-8pm!), during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles covering the lives and works of women in architecture.
In conjunction with Archtober and New York Archives Week, the Guggenheim will host its third Wikipedia edit-a-thon—or, #guggathon— to enhance articles related to women in architecture on Wikipedia. The Guggenheim aims to further the goals of Ada Lovelace Day for STEM, and Art+Feminism for art, in a field that, by its nature combines both. The WikiArte (Wiki Arte y Cultura Latinoamerica) edit-a-thon is a global campaign to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Latin American arts and culture and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia. Featuring an opening Artists' Panel at 10am, with Sol Aramendi, Sharon Lee De La Cruz, and Marisa Morán Jahn, to be moderated by Rocío Aranda-Alvarado, curator at El Museo del Barrio. The Museum of Modern Art and Fundacion Cisneros/Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros are uniting with international allies to focus on the lives and works of Latin American artists, architects and designers. On Saturday December 3, 2016, in conjunction with a global campaign, the Guggenheim will host its fifth Wikipedia edit-a-thon—or, #guggathon—to enhance Wikipedia's coverage of modern and contemporary artists from Greater China. The event will cap off Wikipedia Asian Month, an online campaign dedicated to augmenting Asian content on Wikipedia throughout November. New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia, and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support. Editors are invited to view the exhibition Tales of Our Time following the event. The Guggenheim aims to raise awareness of the artists featured in the Tales of Our Time exhibition supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Chinese Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Contemporary Art of the Middle East and North Africa, and Art+Feminism.

There will be childcare, snacks, multiple trainings and panel discussions. People of all gender identities and expressions welcomed and encouraged to attend. This is an opportunity for all to gather, share and work collectively towards a more robust account of history. For this month, and following on the recent Art+Feminism campaign, we'll focus on building better edit-a-thon tools for a variety of different thematic campaigns, and user-testing them with the community. Themes for this event include art related to HIV/AIDS activism and on LGBTQ artists of the African Diaspora as part of the Black Lunch Table project. NPOV and appreciation for your approach edit

Thanks for your work dedicated to improving Wikipedia. I just wanted to let you know I appreciate your courtesy and willingness to discuss our differences.
I admit I am still puzzled about the tweet thst was so shockingly bad. After a 30-year caeer in education, some of it as an adjunct and some supervising adjuncts, I am also aware of the conditions uder which adjuncts serve-- including low pay, no guaranteed assignment from term to term, often being assigned at last minute, or bumped at last minute by full-time faculty whose courses were under-enrolled, often restricted to half-time or less... It takes dedication just to survive! Of course, in terms of getting results, it would be easier to teach to the better students and write off struggling students, especially if future employment depends on students success rates on a common final or licensure exam. The student newpaper article said the twitter thread was a discussion about "best teaching practices," but there is no excuse for the abrupt tone of the tweer or that he declined to answer the subsequent negative reactkons. I can only guess he was in survival mode. I hope his supervisor discussed it with him.
