It’s not unconstructive editing to remove BLP violations. Read the policy - it’s what we’re SUPPOSED to do. -2600:1017:B826:2885:F50A:E378:337F:595E (talk) 16:45, 29 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Paths for new editors

edit

New editors who choose to improve existing articles in English Wikipedia (numbering > 6,200,000) are more likely to find satisfaction, and stay on as editors, compared to those who choose as first efforts the creation of new articles. Also. truth is truth, but verification via reliable source references is mandatory. See Help:Referencing for beginners on formatting refs, and I advice getting refs right in your own Sandbox before copying those into articles. David notMD (talk) 11:44, 31 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@David notMD: Thank you for your advice. Richard M William (talk) 11:52, 31 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Kelvin Madzongwe moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Kelvin Madzongwe, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Recommendation

edit

If you do a lot of recent changes patrol, semi automated tools such as WP:TWINKLE and WP:REDWARN makes it a lot easier, and also gives the author of the offending edits warnings. (I personally think RedWarn is better for recent changes) - AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 09:54, 12 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@AssumeGoodWraith, Thank you so much! Richard M William (talk) 09:57, 12 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. - AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 09:55, 12 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Rollback

edit

Hi Richard Michael William. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 03:18, 6 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Fastily, thank you so much for reviewing my request and granting this right. I'll try my best to revert more vandalisms by this tool. --Richard Michael William (talk) 08:47, 6 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
