Speedy deletion nomination of Nofel Izz edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nofel Izz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Image-delinking bot edit

I notice that you removed the broken link on Meenakshi Dixit to that now-deleted copyright violating image you uploaded to Commons. It is good that you did that, but there is a bot that automatically removes references like that soon after the image gets deleted. Just letting you know. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:53, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

That recent upload was really my fault unlike the past uploads which were I really don't know what these copyrights are about. But, well, I have no choice, I was banned in Commons. I will use the time to review the copyrights, and to know how to use them fairly. Rules are rules. That's how things go.--Renzoy16 | Contact Me 17:25, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article Southwestern College (Santa Fe, New Mexico) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I have recently userfied the contents of this article in order to clean it up and add references. May I request to delete this page so that when I have completed the clean up work, it will be easily be moved back to this page.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thanks for uploading File:Foursquare-Android-Nearbyvenues.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

The X Factor Philippines edit

Sorry but I will revert your work on The X Factor Philippines.. We should follow a protocol on doing the tables. I'm following the rule of the X factor UK (which is the original) for the table. Please , don't revert my edits. Another thing is use the name of the contestant which they are using in the live shows (e.g. Allen Jane Sta. Maria should be "Allen Sta. Maria" only; Jerrianne Mae Templo should be "Jerrianne Templo" only). Don't add the 'original artist' part, this is not American Idol nor Any other singing competition. Hope you understood what I want to say. Qjtv2911 (talk) 09:42, 13 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Okay, payag na ako sa sinasabi mo. Basta, huwag nyo na lang po i-edit yung background style nya pero pwede nyo po sya dagdagan ng 'original artist'. Huwag nyo na pong isama yung 'cover' sa original artist. Qjtv2911 (talk) 10:41, 13 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Zeus Mortgage, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Replaceable fair use File:Ground Station Components.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ground Station Components.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:59, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please be informed that i will undo what you did and put back the format of the x factor series. thanks. Qjtv2911 (talk) 02:17, 22 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Talk:Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

The blanking of the page was due to removing the redirect link; from the page history

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175 edit

Dear Renzoy16,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 14, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Replaceable fair use File:Diosdado Banatao.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Diosdado Banatao.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 07:21, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

The Amazing Race Philippines edit

Why exactly did you split the article into an article about the first competition and an article about the show as a whole? This should not have been done unless it is known that there is a second season planned.—Ryulong (琉竜) 09:36, 4 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I was thinking that it was better to split it up just like in other reality tv series. And I think there was nothing wrong with the thing that I did. TARP provides an info about the franchise, while TARP 1 was about the current race.--Renzoy16 | Contact Me 16:22, 4 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Yashi Official logo.png) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Yashi Official logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:14, 24 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:DubaiSat-2.png edit

A tag has been placed on File:DubaiSat-2.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Double roadblocks in The Amazing Race Philippines 1 edit

Hi, since your removal of the notice of "double roadblocks" in the final leg of The Amazing Race Philippines 1 is provoked and unnecessary. Here's the statistics in other TAR versions:

1. TAR16 Leg 10, 2 roadblocks (noodles, puzzle)
2. TAR18 Leg 12, 2 roadblocks (forklift, diving with mermaids)
3. TAR19 Leg 5, 2 roadblocks (native flute, assemble spirit house)
4. TAR20 Leg 12, 2 roadblocks (ice shave, Hawaiian games)
5. TARAustralia2 Leg 3, 2 roadblocks (driving, stairs)
6. TARVietnam1 Leg 9, 2 roadblocks (sliding and abseiling, archery)
7. TARVietnam1 Leg 12, 2 roadblocks (climbing, stunt performing)
8. TAR21 Leg 1, 2 roadblocks (Ping Pong, eating hasma)
9. TAR21 Leg 12, 2 roadblocks (upside down escape, "hello" and "goodbye" in eight foreign languages visited the race)

This not includes TAR: Family Edition, some of its Roadblocks are special with performing two team members from each family name in each time at different legs and a 2-person team member Roadblock in TAR16, which was a part of Intersection. I will go to re-add the double roadblock notice "Leg nn had two Roadblocks and no Detour" and you need to approve it. ApprenticeFan work 02:07, 17 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I couldn't see the point. I really think that wouldn't be necessary as we can see that in the leg summary. And, we could add always add an "additional note" in that leg that the one who takes the first roadblock cannot take the second one. The table is really so messy with lots of note numbers already (in the case of the TARP 1). I suggest that the whole members of the Wikiproject TAR community should review this.--Renzoy16 | Contact Me 07:07, 17 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

OTRS edit

For future reference, when someone else wants to upload a photograph to Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons, then yes, they should communicate with OTRS. If they can give a straightforward declaration such as the template we provide at WP:CONSENT then forwarding it to us is fine, otherwise it is generally best/quickest if they contact us directly to cut out the middleman and try to avoid the somewhat disjointed conversation which seems to be resulting from the listings I started at PUF. Better source request for File:DistrictBuilder Screenshot.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:DistrictBuilder Screenshot.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. File permission problem with File:DistrictBuilder Screenshot.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:DistrictBuilder Screenshot.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:25, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:DistrictBuilder logo.png) edit

Thanks for uploading File:DistrictBuilder logo.png.

Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:14, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

DistrictBuilder edit

This page is now at User:Renzoy16/sandbox8. I would suggest that you protest to the deleting admin, User:Nick-D — speedy criterion G5 only applies to pages "which have no substantial edits by others", and you definitely made substantial contributions before this page was deleted. Your best bet is probably just to copy/paste the contents of sandbox3 into sandbox8 and then move it back out into mainspace. Nyttend (talk) 21:45, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have semi-protected the article. I'm not going to block a half a dozen IPs on a hunch, esp. not if they haven't even been warned yet. AIV is not for these kinds of problems; WP:RFPP is a better venue. Thank you. 16:47, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Please don't unnecessarily rewrite references in your favorite style... edit

I am going to request you reconsider making edits like this one.

Different contributors prefer different reference styles. Some people, like me, prefer placing each field in a {{cite}} template on a line of its own. Other people prefer to have the entire template on a single line.

Policies and guidelines do not prefer one reference style over another. When I add new references I use my preferred style. When I modify, update or correct templates someone else has written I leave them as unmodified as possible, unless they are completely broken. And I would recommend everyone follow this practice.

The reason is that when an individual makes an edit that rewrites all the cite templates to use their preferred style, or they allow a robot editing assistant to make that change, they seriously erode the utility of the revision history features of the wikimedia software. When I look at that diff I have no idea whether, buried in the purely esthetic changes to the hidden format of the article's metadata, there lies any actual changes to the article's content.

I find this practice highly disruptive. Maybe this is largely the responsibility of whoever wrote the ProveIt bot you used. So I will request them to remove this rewrite template feature. Until they modify the bot, would you please consider not authorizing it to make this change? If the bot doesn't allow you choose to "don't fix it if it is not broke", then would please consider not using that bot until it is fixed?

I reverted your collapse of the references I added. Geo Swan (talk) 06:04, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

While it is true that the logo did not come from the official facebook page, the fact is the logo is a vectorized representation of the original logo (See the official facebook page). So technically, because it is a vectorized logo, the rights still belong to ABS-CBN and Talpa. Hollyckuhno (talk) 02:49, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
