Comments on Mounir Mourad article edit

Hi Raafat, I've been keeping an eye on Mounir Mourad (as you may have noticed) and I thought you might like some help with the Wikipedia referencing system - I took a look at some of your other articles and they, too, were missing inline citations. Although there is a policy page discussing this, it's a bit long so I thought I'd give you a condensed version. I don't know if you're unfamiliar with the policy or just with the mechanisms, so I'll explain both (so apologies if this is old news to you).

Rather than just providing a list of sources consulted, in the style of a bibliography, WP encourages using footnotes/inline citations so that indiviudal paragraphs or claims can be verified. The markup for this is available on the edit toolbar: place the cursor where you want the reference, click the button that says <ref/ref> and insert the reference as directed. Then, in the section you already have for references, type <references/>. This should then appear as just a numbered footnote in the body of the article[1], like so, and the text of the reference will show up in the appropriate section, as below.

Hello, by chance, I came across your article about Mounir Mourad and did some research and editing. Most of the sources added I found through Google books, which also gives a URL to link to the source. This further editing of your article should place it beyond doubt, and I have deleted the hat note on lack of reliable sources. I especially like the videos I added under External links! Hi Raafat, You're doing a great job adding information about Egyptian personalities such as Elias Moadab. However I noticed you're adding a link to the Arabic wikipedia in the "See also" section (and in name). Linking to another language is done through the "languages" sidebar. I've removed those from the body of the article and added them to the sidebar where necessary. Have a good day. --Fjmustak (talk) 19:37, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problem: Fouad Aziz Ghali edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Fouad Aziz Ghali, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://weekly.ahram.org.eg/2000/464/eg7.htm, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), versions 1.3 or later then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Fouad Aziz Ghali and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Fouad Aziz Ghali with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Fouad Aziz Ghali.

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Fouad Aziz Ghali saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! – Toon(talk) 17:46, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

With respect to your comment on this article at it's talk page, copyright deletions are not a "vote" like WP:AfD. Information is freely usable, but language is not. This article has had to be deleted, as the text was pasted from [1], and there is no indication there that this material is licensed compatibly with Wikipedia. If you would like to write a new article, please feel free, but be careful to use your own language and presentation. Wikipedia can use limited quotations of copyrighted sources in accordance with our non-free content guidelines, but otherwise we can only duplicate sources that we can verify to be public domain under United States copyright law (which governs Wikipedia) or that are verifiably licensed compatibly with GFDL. (Some contributors find the essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing helpful in determining how much revision is necessary so that use of a source does not equal copyright infringement.) --Moonriddengirl (talk)

Speedy deletion nomination of Sylvia El Nakkady edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Sylvia El Nakkady requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 14:59, 23 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Sylvia El Nakkady edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Sylvia El Nakkady. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sylvia El Nakkady. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:16, 25 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Coptic tv Logo 2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Coptic tv Logo 2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 13:11, 6 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Moawad GadElrab, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Egyptian and Doctor. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ibrahim Mansour, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://copticmedical.com/dr-ibrahim-mansour/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Speedy deletion nomination of Baligh Hamdi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Baligh Hamdi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 07:10, 18 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Peter Mimi edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Peter Mimi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Proposed deletion of Peter Mimi edit

Hello, Raafat

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Velella, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Peter Mimi, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Velella}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Peter Mimi moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Peter Mimi. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and none of the current sources estasblish any notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back.  Velella  Velella Talk   10:13, 27 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, احب اعدائك edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, احب اعدائك. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Matthew 5:44. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Matthew 5:44. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Broc (talk) 09:13, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
