December 2014 edit

Your recent editing history at Eleanor Hibbert shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. You need to slow down and stop. Read the information that's being provided to you. There are obvious issues with some images that need to be taken care of. If you have any questions, contact one of the users who have posted to your talk page or go to the talk page of the article. Otherwise, you're likely to find yourself blocked. User Hullaballoo_Wolfowitz has a long history of disruptive editing. Please see the long lost of complaints here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Hullaballoo_Wolfowitz/Archive_2. Before deleting the images from the Eleanor Hibbert page, he never sought any discussion. I tried to reason with him here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Hullaballoo_Wolfowitz/Archive_2#Eleanor_Hibbert. As a result of his disruptive editing, I have already lost this image: File:Eleanor-hibbert-as-eleanor-burford-1930s.jpg. Please help. R0x5r (talk) 18:16, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

His "disruptive" editing isn't why your image was deleted. Your image was likely deleted due to a copyright issue. If you've been editing anything other than his current talk page, he's likely not going to see it and won't respond. Dusti*Let's talk!* 18:25, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Looking at your image, there's a large red box that appears indicating it's been deleted. Here's the deletion information:
18:28, 7 December 2014 Ronhjones (talk | contribs) deleted page File:Eleanor-hibbert-as-eleanor-burford-1930s.jpg (File deleted: F5: Unused non-free media file for more than 7 days (TW))
If you want to dispute the deletion, @Ronhjones: would be the person to speak to. Dusti*Let's talk!* 18:26, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Dusti, he deleted the page content that referred to the image. That made the image an orphan and a target for speedy deletion. That's how the image got deleted. I will talk with Ronhjones, thank you for the tip. R0x5r (talk) 18:30, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
If the non-free image was in the article and referenced it would be removed as there's no copyright information on file giving permission for Wikipedia to have the image (if I'm understanding correctly). Dusti*Let's talk!* 18:32, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Dusti, there are exceptions to this rule. When I uploaded the image, I painstakingly outlined all of them. You can see other examples of images on that article.
Dusti, thanks for your great advice to contact @Ronhjones: who restored the image right away and requested me to add it back to the page asap. I've reverted your edit and acknowledged it as being in good faith. Please see what you can do about preserving the Eleanor Hibbert page from repeated disruptive deletion by user Hullaballoo_Wolfowitz. Thanks again! R0x5r (talk) 21:25, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Eleanor-hibbert-at-typewriter-on-cruise-ship-1970.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Eleanor-hibbert-at-typewriter-on-cruise-ship-1970.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Mdann52talk to me! 18:24, 30 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
