User page guidelines

Your talk page has a statement made by you caling the sinhalese people as "forces of evil" and saying that you are interested in "correcting the vast amounts of misinformation, propoganda and downright lies scattered across Wikipedia" by them , please understand that this is in violation of wikipedia guidelines on what your userpage may have. Please see [1] for guidlines. Wikpiedia is not your personal webpage, if you want to bash sinhalese people and show the world that you are a racist then please open up your own personal website somewhere else, but the wikipedia is not the place to promote your personal views. Please consider removing the offensive statement from your userpageKerr avon (talk) 02:03, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I concur, I would de-link the forces of evil from Sinhalese and then it will be OK. Taprobanus (talk) 05:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Agreed to Taprobanus' suggestion, but the rest stays.Obi2canibe (talk) 15:38, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I am mostly done, can u take care of the red link articles such as ISGA, Thimpu principles and names of some of notable politicians please when u have time ? ThanksTaprobanus (talk) 16:27, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Will do.Obi2canibe (talk) 22:04, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
i nominated it for wp:dyk but it has enough words, keep an eye if people want a different hook. Taprobanus (talk) 22:36, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I didn't want to go into more detail because the article would have more information about the Thimpu peace talks than the Thimpu principles. Currently collating information on ISGA.Obi2canibe (talk) 23:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Thimpu principles

Hello! Your submission of Thimpu principles at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know!

I've fixed it, let's see whether it works , I've nominated ISGA too. Taprobanus (talk) 06:33, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

sri lanka politician

while it is always a good idea to build consensus first, you may also be bold and just add these boxes without asking anyone. Jasy jatere (talk) 17:26, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi

Do you havee-mail ?Taprobanus (talk) 22:45, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes.Obi2canibe (talk) 19:18, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Naming conventions

Hi, I saw you changing the article names of a few bios from the abbreviated name to the full name of the person. Accroding to WP:UCN, I think we're supposed to use the most common name of the person as the article title. For example R. Sampanthan should probably remain as it was, rather than be changed to Rajavarothiam Sampanthan, a name very few people have heard. The example given at UCN is the H. G. Wells, which is the name he's most commonly known by. --snowolfD4 ( talk / @ ) 17:46, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Misinformation, propaganda and downright lies

"...correcting the vast amounts of misinformation, propoganda and downright lies scattered across Wikipedia."

Odd, that's what I'm doing. Are you fighting the misinformation, propaganda and downright lies spread by the Tamil Disapora too? User:HumanFrailty 00:35, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

your subpage

There have been some concerns about your subpage being moved to article space. It constitutes a significant BLP problem. Is there another reason for the page? Xavexgoem (talk) 19:38, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't follow - it's not a biography of a person. Please explain the concerns/problems you have.Obi2canibe (talk) 20:25, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
You're right, it is not a biography; however, it is a list of people who may not want their names on Wikipedia - or anywhere else, for that matter - given the subject. Is there anyway to work around this? Xavexgoem (talk) 21:19, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, I understand. The names are widely available on the www, including the Amnesty International website. Some of the names are mentioned in other Wiki articles and some even have their own article.
I can remove the names if it's absolutely necessary. But obviously if readers bother to check the citations they will see the names.Obi2canibe (talk) 21:51, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
I think it's necessary, yes. Bear in mind that, unlike most websites, Wikipedia pages are often copied all over the web - and once that happens, we lose control over them. DS (talk) 22:49, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
I have now removed the names of all living persons.Obi2canibe (talk) 17:45, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
