Hello Mr. Nair, I wished to gain more clarity on why the aforesaid page has been deleted. If there was a problem with the same, would you please help me in improving the same and get it back on Wikipedia? Your help will be really appreciated. Awaiting a revert form you soon. Thank you.

Hello Mkgjoseph! The page of the aforementioned musician was removed because it was not written from a neutral point of view. Secondly, it looked like the only thing that was being achieved from that article was promotion of the singer and her history as a musician, which is clearly not what Wikipedia should be used for. Thirdly, I would have helped you recreating the page, but I am rarely interested in biographies. However, you can request the page creation here - WP:Article requests. Alternatively, you yourself can recreate the page and write a biography from a neutral point of view without using promotional fluff. Nevertheless, I do think you are related to this personality, which brings in the subject of COI, which states that an article should not (or cannot) be created by a person who is related to or who is themselves the topic of the article. I hope this information will help you. Let's create an encyclopedia and not a platform for advertising things or people. Best, Mr. Nair Talk 19:22, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your revert Mr. Nair! Will do as advised by you and have the article recreated. Thank you for your help! Mkgjoseph

Rollback granted

Hi Nairspecht. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Widr (talk) 10:18, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

Disha Patani

Why did you remove her picture and date of birth from her Wikipedia page ? Supanmaniar (talk) 02:11, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Hello Supanmaniar! The reason I removed the image and DOB from her article was because of lack of a proper source. As per WP:BIO, one needs to have reliable sources to point out factors like DOB, hometown, etc. Now that I see you have again uploaded and edited the image through Commons, a mild warning - Wikipedia does not entertain copyrighted images. Also, you still have not sourced the DOB. What I'd suggest is to scrounge the web for any sources where her DOB is mentioned. Let me know if you need any help with these edits. Cheers, Nairspecht (talk) 07:11, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

I have added a new talk please reply me about it. Supanmaniar (talk) 08:50, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Disha Patani Re-Edit

How do I mention a reliable source of her DOB because I heard it from her interview of Miss Femina 2013, and how do I post a picture of her? Because there cannot be any image on which I have a copyright, see there is a logic Bill Gates wouldn't update his picture on Wikipedia by himself there must be someone else to post it. You suggest me how do I post her picture because when fans want to read her Wikipedia article, they always like to see a picture of her. Supanmaniar (talk) 08:48, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Dear Supanmaniar, thank you for getting back to me. Of course Bill Gates wouldn't come to Wikipedia and upload his own photo. So what one can do is, obtain such a photo by photographing him (or her in this case) by yourself if you ever happen to go to an event where he/she is present and uploading it on Wikipedia as your own work. This is the best way to ensure that the photo stays on Wikipedia. Alternatively, you can search for photos which are not protected by copyright laws. That is, if a photo is available on the public domain and the owner of the file allows reproduction of the file in other Creative Commons ventures, then you can certainly upload it. Read this for more info - WP:C. Cheers, Nairspecht Converse 09:50, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

But what about her DOB? and from which website would I get her picture without getting the copyright act involved? Supanmaniar (talk) 14:23, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of LYF

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on LYF, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Orphaned non-free image File:Reliance smartphone brand - LYF logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:Reliance smartphone brand - LYF logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:29, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Re Edits on the page for movie Azhar

Thanks for your suggestion about me adding poorly referenced information. I was puzzled because the evidence is the actual video of the Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria saying that Azharuddin "has a criminal bent of mind". Rakesh Maria makes this comment at 5:41 in this video recorded by Tehelka during their coverage of the match-fixing episode. The transcript of the conversation is also available with them. How can a quote from an actual video/transcript from a reputed media organization be "poorly referenced information"? Perhaps you did not see the video and in that case do watch it. Meanwhile I will re-add this information as it crucial to the background of the controversy around the movie. RustaBucket (talk) 14:51, 15 May 2016 (UTC)RustaBucket

The goal of this and all articles here is Truth while avoiding slander, defamation and false accusations. I think edit does the former and not the latter. RustaBucket (talk) 15:00, 15 May 2016 (UTC)RustaBucket

I understand, RustaBucket. However, as per WP:YOUTUBE, the channel which has uploaded the video must be of a verifiable news agency/organization. Desi Gyan is not a well-known source. I think it will be more appropriate to cite a video which has been directly uploaded by Tehelka. I'm sure there should be the original video uploaded on their channel. However, I am not going to revert your edit because that would cause edit warring. Best, Nairspecht Converse 17:03, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

Thanks Nairspecht and I appreciate your well-meaning advise. I did find the original video as per your advise and have added the video from the original source (Tehelka's own Youtube Channel) as reference. This video is part of the sting operation "Fallen Heroes" that first broke the story of match-fixing nationally in India. The Rakesh Maria quote now appears at the 10:00 mark as this is a longer video. I hope this satisfies your concern. Thanks. RustaBucket (talk) 19:06, 15 May 2016 (UTC)RustaBucket

Also, since I have added the verified source from the magazine would you please remove the "Unreliable sources" flag? I would be happy to remove it but since you added it I wanted to check with you before doing so. Thanks. RustaBucket (talk) 22:06, 15 May 2016 (UTC)RustaBucket.

DYK for Bakeys

On 9 June 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bakeys, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Bakeys, an Indian manufacturer of edible utensils, hopes to reduce plastic utensil waste in India, which numbers around 120 billion discarded pieces annually? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bakeys. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Bakeys), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Your GA nomination of The Vegetarian

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article The Vegetarian you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria.   This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of J Milburn -- J Milburn (talk) 21:42, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

  • Hi Nairspecht; I've left some comments on the the review page. I'm concerned at the moment that this article does not meet GA criterion 3, concerning broad coverage. There certainly is not a ban on short GAs, but there's a lot of material available on this topic, and so I think this would have to be expanded quite significantly before it's ready to be promoted to GA status. Josh Milburn (talk) 08:44, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
  • J Milburn - Hey Josh! Thanks for the comments. I will check them out shortly and try to expand the article. Do I renominate after that or just buzz you on the GA discussion page about it? Cheers, Nairspecht Converse 09:46, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
The GA review is still open at the time, so you can reply there; if I'm being honest, I think there's a bit too much work to be done in the short term, but I wanted to give you a chance to respond. If you agree that there's a lot of work to be done or if it's still looking quite short after a few days, it can be closed. That's not a problem, of course, as you can just renominate when you're ready. Josh Milburn (talk) 09:52, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
J Milburn - I see. Thanks for the help, Josh. See you in the discussion page. Best, Nairspecht Converse 09:54, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Maheshinte Prathikaaram plot

Thanks for the great work in expanding the plot. It's a good read and I envy you have nice language skill. But I am afraid I have to notify that, the normal word count for plot is 400 to 700 words (as per WP:FILMPLOT-second para). The current count is 1356, a bit larger than usual, the previous one was perfect (with 657 words). I think it's better to cut off some trivial details which add little to the main plot. --Charles Turing (talk) 18:44, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

  • Yes, I came across that piece of information about plot length (400 - 700 words) just last day AFTER I completed writing the plot. I was writing for The Vegetarian then. Let me see if I can trim it in the next 24 hours. Then I'm guessing it will be ready for WP:GA. Cheers, Nairspecht Converse 18:50, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Happy to hear that. But it is not yet ready for GA, they are some more work. And it should pass through a WP:GOCE copy edit and a WP:PR.
By the way, such a great work on The Vegetarian. Good luck on GA. --Charles Turing (talk) 19:51, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
