Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band - Take me to the land of hell
editHi there, Yeepsi. I have to say that you corrected something that was okay: you took out of P.O.B. the album "Take me to the land of hell" and, actually, it is an official release from the band. Fix it.

All quiet on the contribs front
editHey Yeepsi. I've been missing having you around on things-Beatle – reviewing/rating new articles, cases where existing articles might be due an upgrade after improvements, updating GAN/GAs on the project page. All those things we take for granted, because you get them done and we don't notice until you're not around to do them! Hope all's good with you? See you soon, I hope … Best, JG66 (talk) 23:34, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

re Choba B CCCP
editI apologize for not contacting you before making a big edit. I think the changes should be made because: 1. Your use of transliteration is incorrect. Transliteration is phonetic - The font of the language to which the word is translated is used to write as the word sounds in the original language. This is so that the word is pronounced as close to as it is in the original language. see - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transliteration
An english pronunciation of Choba B CCCP does not correspond to the way it is pronounced it russian. "Снова В СССР" is pronounced closely to Snova V SSSR. So "Снова В СССР" should be transliterated as "Snova V SSSR". Also can you please tell me why you used the transliteration as the title.
2. I disagree your use of transliteration as the title. A transliteration is appropriate when an article is regarding someone's name ex. Pyotr Tchaikovskyhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tchaikovsky because usually someones name should not be literally translated. However when a name of something has a meaning it is most often translated rather than transliterated es. Swan Lake https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swan_Lake So thats why I think that the edits are appropriate.
--Rybkovich (talk) 01:24, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- It's something you'd need to get concensus on the article's talk page. There's been a debate or two about the title before. Best, yeepsi (Talk tonight) 01:27, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- I followed the discussion and did not make any title changes. What I did is clarify the issue that will keep on coming up with allot of readers. Do you think this works? --Rybkovich (talk) 03:48, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

A Saucerful of Secrets: Scaruffi's self-published source
editPer the discussion at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums#Piero_Scaruffi_-_Final_Verdict_on_using_him_as_a_source_in_reviews - there's a very clear consensus here that Scaruffi is not to be used as a source in music/album articles in any capacity. Do not add his reviews to review charts, or his opinions in reception sections. Since this is a long running dispute, any contributor warned by the situation and who doesn't respect it, would encounter sanctions and could be blocked from editing. Thanks. You've been informed because you used this source on A Saucerful of Secrets on 15:30, 10 December 2012. Woovee (talk) 14:16, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
editcriteria for inclusion as WP The Beatles article and use of artist navbox
editHey Yeepsi. Found myself a bit flummoxed by what articles can and should be covered under the Beatles project (i.e., with a banner added to their talk page), and also, when it's correct to include an artist navbox for one of the band in a Beatles-related article. Can't find much in the way of guidelines (certainly nothing at Wikipedia:WikiProject Musicians/Navbox), so I figured it might be worth running the two issues by you.
As an example, I've just added the project banner at the talk page for John Barham. I think there's plenty in the article to justify this; and besides, the Barham article appears in Template:George Harrison. But what's starting to confuse me is whether John Barham should then carry the navbox (containing Temp:George). I've looked for a few similar situations, and Chants of India, Shankar Family & Friends and some others include the Harrison navbox; but the likes of Ravi Shankar: In Celebration, Raga, "Photograph", "Sunshine Life for Me", The Place I Love and Is This What You Want? do not … (Btw, I admit it's probably me who introduced the confusion in the first place, since I've worked on all those articles!)
So, the lesser of the two problems is the criteria for applying the Beatles project banner to an article's talk page – in that, if it's okay at John Barham (which I believe it is), should Talk:Tana Mana also carry the banner? I'm sure there are other articles where, like Tana Mana, one of the Beatles had a passing involvement yet the article is not "within the scope of WikiProject The Beatles". (Even though, with that 1987 Shankar album, Harrison does feature quite a bit in the article.) Take this last point further, though, we've got "Early 1970", where the talk page gives it as a Beatles article and a Ringo Starr article, but not a George Harrison article, even though he has a fairly significant presence in the text. Do you see what I'm saying – if Tana Mana were to be classified as a "George Harrison article" on the talk page, should "Early 1970" also be a GH article, because he contributed (plenty) to the recording? (This would apply to "I'm the Greatest" and "How Do You Sleep?" also, as and when the articles are expanded to include a lot of notable points regarding Harrison's involvement.) I realise that Tana Mana is currently not a GH article, and I'm not pushing for it or "Early 1970" to be classified as one necessarily; but I'm trying to get to grips with the criteria here. In other words, should Tana Mana be within the scope of the project? And if it is – on the grounds of Harrison's involvement being discussed under both Recording and Reception – then shouldn't "Early 1970" be a GH article too?
But the bigger problem, to my mind, is that approach regarding artist navboxes: if an article is named in the artist's navbox, does it mean that the article should automatically carry the navbox? In the above examples, this would mean that articles for Raga, Place I Love, Is This … would need the 'box also.
Any thoughts, Y? Cheers, JG66 (talk) 06:14, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
ADTR
editHello! I just wanted to state my reasons why I edited the song credits section for the two latest A Day to Remember records. I did not delete any members (only 'A Day to Remember' after each song, which I thought was pointless), and deleted the words "and" between the final two musicians for each song. I am following Template:Track listing, and it does not use the word 'and' in the list of members. Let me know what you think of this! TheSickBehemoth (talk) 14:27, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

The Final Cut
editHI, Yeepsi. I know you're a busy man, but I could use a little help with The Final Cut (album), as in:
I've got two guys reverting my good-faith (and damn good, I must say) edits. The article had a clear anti-Roger-Waters bias and I've been trying to balance that out. But they are simply reverting (even though I've added sourced material and fixed errors and all sorts of good stuff), citing WP:BRD (Be Bold, Revert, Discuss) without following through on that last, crucial part: Discuss. I've had no explanation, unless you think referring me to BRD and the Manual of Style counts as an explanation. Actually, they're not following BRD at all, because it says:
"Consider reverting only when necessary. It is not the intention of this page to encourage reverting. When reverting, be specific about your reasons in the edit summary and use links if needed. Look at the article's edit history and its talk page to see if a discussion has begun."
Well, the only discussion going on is me, explaining my edits, on the Talk page. Neither of these people have provided a reason, much less a specific reason. And then, there is that whole other article, WP:ONLYREVERT (when necessary)! They could, and should, be working with my edits, not reverting them.
Besides, I think you'll appreciate my edit better, and I could really use another voice on my side. I know you're busy, but if you could look it over and speak up . . . ? I've hit my three-revert limit, I think, so can only monitor for the time being, but any support you might provide would be greatly appreciated!
Best Wishes, --Ben Culture (talk) 07:39, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
