Hi there. You can't just revert someone and say "don't delete this" and proceed to not engage in discussion. I've written about what I'm perceiving as some deep flaws in an article you're maintaining. I'd rather try to hash this out with you before turning to outside input like polling WikiProjects or starting up WP:RFCs. So please participate. Thank you. Why did you delete correct information from Ordinary Man?

adding constantly updating end times to timelines

Along with the fact that we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the auto-updates, it causes problems with the drawing of bars that leads to additional and unnecessary editing. It's best to keep them as fixed dates. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:56, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

I found that changing one characteristic with the timeline fixes this glitch, such as width of the timeline. Otherwise, would we be constantly updating the fixed date? Seems counterproductive. TheSickBehemoth (talk) 02:00, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

But then we are constantly monitoring every page, trying to anticipate when the page is viewed after UTC midnight to see if there is a problem with the way it was redrawn, rather than knowing that there is a static image ready for the next actual update.

With auto-updating timelines, we have to monitor the pages for when bands cease to exist otherwise they keep updating giving the appearance that they are still active. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:11, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

Are you seeing problems with auto-updating has caused problems? I have run across a few where it seems good, but in 2020, when we started this discussion, it was a serious problem.

That sound fine. I completely acknowledge that it used to be an issue and the album lines used to intersect everything on the timeline, but I have not seen this issue in well over a year on any timeline that has automatic updates. TheSickBehemoth (talk) 15:19, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Why did you revert my additions of table IDs from 2020 in Heavy Metal Music?

Is there some process the modifications are interfering with? Would you prefer an article receive final approval before being added?

So, back in January, I added Damnation Angels to the list of artists with material in production on the 2020 in Heavy Metal page. They didn't have a Wikipedia page, so you pulled it, citing clutter prevention. I respect that. I've created a page for them now, but it's not yet received final approval. [1] Their album is due out 7/31. Would you be okay having them added now? Or do I need to wait the ~7 weeks for a moderator to get around to reviewing for approval? I know that adding it now will result in a broken link later, but that's fixable, easy, and I'll be keeping an eye on it. Sorry for reverting your changes on the 2020 in heavy metal music and 2021 in heavy metal music articles, and I know the references didn't mention a release date of next year or even this year, but the reason I just reverted your changes is, according to the articles on MetalStorm, Wizard will be in the studio this month and This Ending will be in the studio next month. Another reason was we're only three months away from the end of the year and I doubt their new albums will be released that early. As for the Sacred Reich, MetalStorm says they're just demoing new material and the article doesn't even mention anything about new music coming out in 2020. Again, I'm very sorry for reverting your changes. You've done a great job contributing to the "in heavy metal music" articles anyway. MetalDiablo666 (talk) 14:54, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

You're also doing a great job with these articles, but you're basing these edits on what you think. They could potentially release these albums this year. All 3 of these say they're in the studio working on or demoing new music. What we know for sure is they're in the studio now in 2020. Yes, you're right. Since album release dates are always like "you never know", I've given some thought that we should wait until it's okay to add either one of the bands we mentioned back to the 2020 or 2021 article. My example of that is, let's wait until one of these bands says something like "Yeah, there will definitely be new music this year [2020]" or "Yeah, you can expect a new album next year [2021]", or better yet, if an article on Blabbermouth, MetalStorm or any other website at least mentions a release date, then we can add this band or that band based on the 2020 or 2021 article like we always do. Sockpuppetry on the years of the heavy metal music

Hello TheSickBehemoth. Recently, on these pages that we are watching over has been edited by user who is a sockpuppet and constantly adding deaths of musicians without adding a single source. Vena (album)

Hello, TheSickBehemoth. Thanks for stopping this User:Rockmusicfanatic20. Adding in a new album in production based on a new single with no announcement wasn't the only problematic thing he has done. Earlier this month, in the Vena (album) article, he insisted on including "pop" in the genre infobox even though only 4 of the songs in the album are considered pop. I honestly don't think only a few songs in an album constitute a main genre, but I don't wanna start an edit war. Since, I've been pinged User:SirZPthundergod9001 into this topic. I've came here to defend myself. I added Coldrain with artists with new material in production based on the fact they announced a new single which was a new single with a release date slated for it in the works. The new material being the new single, with an impending album set to be announced. Does the announcement of a single not indicate new material? This is what I'm confused about, but I don't want to get into an edit war. And also.. I went to gather some references for the genres in the infobox in the Vena article and I stumbled across a French review of the album which mentioned 1/3 of the album being pop. 4 song out of 11. If it was just one song, I wouldn't have even bothered and just brushed it to the side. I added it based on it being a valid source and I said in my own edit that if a portion of an album has been considered as such a genre then I feel it should be included as I don't think sources like that should be removed. Calling me a problematic editor for simply trying to gather sources together and adding it to an article only for it to be removed? I'm all for adding to articles rather than removing things from articles. Sure, I've made some edits based on impulse before but once they've been explained to me. I've understood and stepped away from it. These two instances were absolutely not. You make it sound like I'm a complete nuisance to this encyclopedia for me trying to improve upon articles and adding in information. Calling for me to get a warning for simply trying to help articles is what I feel to be completely ridiculous and absurd. I've matured a lot as an editor over the years, if I should have got an official warning it should have been back in what.. 2018? Although I am not familiar with this album, if 4 out of the 11 songs featured on it are exclusively in the pop genre, and include a reliable source in the article stating this, I feel that it warrants being included in the infobox. That is roughly a third of the album, which I feel is significant enough for inclusion. Obviously, if pop was the only genre listed, there would be a need for revisions. About Master Dy album

Hello TheSickBehemoth Are you okay? I would like to highlight some points about the album I added to the list, as I never saw a criterion requiring the band to be already on wikipedia, and if you look closely at the article, it is being worked on, countless bands before being added have their Rejected editions so that everything gets better and more coherent, this band that I've been studying about it in recent days, I noticed that it was the female vocal band in Portugal that had the most listeners on spotify in 2021, and in February it was the second best-selling album, losing only for Moonspell in that country, if Moonspell is there, I think it's fair that the female metal band that had the level to be second in sales right behind them is also, but of course I'm not saying this to deny your opinion, or yours vision, I'm just defending because I made such an edit, now it's your decision to listen to my words or just eliminate the band's work. Thank you and keep doing this amazing job!

John 5/Rob Zombie

Hello @TheSickBehemoth - I noticed you changed John 5 back to current members for Rob Zombie. I believe this to be inaccurate. If you look at John 5's biography on his website, it states that he has left to join Motley Crue as a live/touring guitarist; "John 5 continued to work with Zombie until Fall 2022....In October 2022, it was announced that John 5 would be joining Mötley Crüe as live guitarist following the announcement that Mick Mars would be retiring."[2]. Also I believe that Mike Riggs taking over guitar for the Oct 6 Aftershock Show with Rob Zombie is an indicator. I don't think John 5 has ever missed a show w/Zombie and from his Instagram he was on holiday with Tommy Lee around the same time. You also mentioned "until it's officially announced". I checked back on Rob Zombie's website for the last band member to leave - Tommy Clufetos - and there was no news on the site making that official announcement. In fact the only two official announcements seem to be noting that Joey Jordison would be playing drums in 2010 [3] and in 2011 when Ginger Fish took over [4]. Lastly, according to news reports (and checking their own Instagram follows), Zombie and 5 are no longer following each other. I suppose we will see if John joins Zombie in December when he plays with Alice Cooper [5] but given one no show and the recent statements, I'm guessing this won't happen. Happy to wait for your thoughts but do think we can assume that John 5 is now a former member. EmmaJL5 15:17, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello @TheSickBehemoth - Just following up as I have had no engagement with you in regards to your changes to the Rob Zombie line-up and I've noticed you've again reverted a change back by another user to showing John 5 as the current guitarist. I agree that it is too soon to say if Mike Riggs is taking up guitar in a more permanent role, but as I laid out in my initial post, even the official John 5 website biography is saying he has left the band (Rob Zombie).

I believe we need consensus on this to stop revert back and forth so will take this to the Rob Zombie talk page and hopefully we can get some input ron others moving forward.

With regards to the John 5/Rob Zombie status, it just boils down to finding a reliable source from either artist stating that John 5 had left Rob Zombie's band, though I don't think either party has addressed this matter yet. I competely agree with you that Riggs being added is also incorrect; he did perform live recently with Zombie, but that does not mean he has returned to the band as a full-time member. However, nothing (other than the blurb on John 5's website) has been announced that John 5 is officially out just yet, either. Hello @TheSickBehemoth, thank you for getting back to me. As I noted, previous departures of members of Zombie's band were not announced via a statement from the band (most recently before 5 was Tommy Clufetos). In fact Zombie did not mention it for a number of months until it came up in an interview I believe (an example article here: https://www.metalsucks.net/2010/08/09/rob-zombie-squashes-ozzy-osbourne-beef/ and here: https://www.loudersound.com/features/rob-zombie-q-a). But it was never announced formerly on Zombie's site. I also looked for an official statement announcing Blasko's departure from the band to be replaced by Piggy D and apart from interviews in the years after, there does not appear to be an official band statement from Zombie in this regard, so there is a history from the Zombie camp of not making these announcements.

As for "other than the blurb on John 5's website" - I took the quote from the official biography on his website which details his career and it says he "continued to work with Zombie until Fall 2022". That suggests finality. And it's most recent update was October 2022.

I do understand what you're saying and do get the caution but I don't completely agree. Especially in light of previous departures and the fact that the John 5 official bio has stated working with Zombie as now in the past. I believe it would be good to see what the wider community also thinks so we can at least get a consensus on it.
