Archive for %(monthname)s %(year)d
Hi. At Talk:Pulmonary embolism, the archive navbox shows only one archive page – Archive 1 – but this is a redlink (the page does not exist). Archive 2 does exist, but is not shown by the navbox. Would you take a look? —[AlanM1(talk)]— 03:21, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
- @AlanM1: There are several problems here. First, Misza13 is no longer around (see the box at the top of this page), they last edited in February 2015. Second, archiving of Talk:Pulmonary embolism is no longer performed by MiszaBot I (talk · contribs) - that bot went down even earlier, in October 2013, since when the archiving has been done by Lowercase sigmabot III (talk · contribs), as may be seen from the page history. Third, it's not a bot problem either because the archiving as set up by Diptanshu Das (talk · contribs) was configured to start with archive 2 (this is what
|counter=2 does), so archive 1 never existed. Fourth, the {{Archives}} template assumes that archive page numbers begin with archive 1, it doesn't expect gaps in sequence.
- You have at least three routes to fixing this. The quick fix is to create Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 1 with a short note to say that the page is empty, possibly with an explanation why. The ideal fix is to move Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 2 to Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 1, amend all inward links, then blank out the redirect at Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 2 that was created by the move. Another fix is to use a template which does a similar job to
{{Archives}} but which can be configured for a different start value. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:45, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
- @Redrose64: Thanks. I moved Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 2 to Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 1 (there are no relevant inlinks) and requested removal of the new redirect, Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 2, at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2018 August 11 § Talk:Pulmonary embolism/Archive 2. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 08:27, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
