Speedy deletion nomination of Alfredo Duran edit

A tag has been placed on Alfredo Duran requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. RadioFan (talk) 13:50, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Protected pages edit

You can request an edit to a protected page using {{editprotected}} - just put that code on the article talk page with your suggested change (in this case a cite at Talk:Carrie_Prejean). I would have added the template for you this time round but I notice the sources is a blog, which would appear not to meet our standards as a reliable source. Trail of the Whispering Giants edit

hi! i just saw your post on the Trail of the Whispering Giants talk page. the best way to add a picture is to upload it to Wikicommons. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page . If you or your husband open an account there, there is a step by step guide to adding it to the wiki. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Upload . After you upload the picture you should add: "The sculpture is in the public domain via: {{PD-US-1978-89}}" into the lisencing section on the image's page, which is the license for all of Peter Wolf Toth's sculptures created before 1989.

Once you have uploaded the picture i would be more than happy to put it into the article for you, or help you with adding it. If you want to try your hand at adding it with out help, feel free to fool around in Wikipedia:Sandbox where any edit you do is fine and will mess up nothing.

good luck with your wiki-adventures!--Found5dollar (talk) 02:00, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Amy Myers (author).jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Amy Myers (author).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. January (talk) 21:36, 15 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Swan House (Chelsea Embankment) edit

Hello Missivonne. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Swan House (Chelsea Embankment)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Swan House (Chelsea Embankment)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 02:01, 24 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

edit summary confusion FYI edit

FYI, I was confused by your edit (and the summary). Originally saw it via a watchlist email notification which included the edit summary. When I opened the diff, I didn't notice where the editsemiprotected had been placed and then went hunting for a reason why your account wasn't auto confirmed. I realized the request was not from you when I was about to write you a message inviting you to just do it and why do you think it's protected from your edits?

In the future you might find it more convenient and less confusing if you used the "new section" button/tab which I'm using to write this now. (as described at WP:TALKNEW. but maybe you know this already, seems like you've been here a long time.)

Anyway, hello! I also just watched the full speech video shortly before you posted about it. --Jeremyb (talk) 14:27, 9 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Quote marks edit

Hey. I noticed on Crime and Punishment (play), you used the prime character (′) instead of a proper single quote mark ('). I've fixed it there, but I see the same issue on other articles you created such as John Keasler. Can you please go through all your article creations and correct any that aren't using the proper quote mark? Thanks. Opencooper (talk) 20:19, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

We are not to use the curly apostrophes? Sorry I'm coming late to this. Miss Ivonne (talk) 00:33, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, firstly, you weren't using the curly quote character, but the prime character, which is normally used for units. But no, Wikipedia's Manual of Style says to use straight double and single quotation marks. Opencooper (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 04:28, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
