Hi. I was browsing though GOCE articles (revision histories) as I normally do to pick up tips by osmosis. I saw a "thank" blue link on a summary from yesterday from an editor who added to your edits during the drive - and I clicked it ! - purely out of idle curiosity as I have never noticed this link type before, would you believe, and wanted to know what it did. Thanks for asking that (you're the first to). I considered considering it, so to speak, a little while ago, and decided it's not for me. I could probably stand hell week, but adminship doesn't attract me at all. The work looks like chores, there are many areas of adminship I know nothing about (such as all the drama boards and your specialty, RFPP) and I actually rather enjoy having to make my way without any special powers, just getting it right or getting overruled. As a thankyou for being so nice to me, I see that an IP has requested about 150 articles about Hurling Championships to bhe moved to titles that are redlinks. Reconsider "autonomous car" move?

In the autonomous car requested move discussion, after Marcus Qwertyus' change of heart, there were 8 in support, 4 opposed. (Marcus crossed out his support but then turned around again after further discussion and said he not only supported "driverless car" but was ready to move the article himself, until I told him to wait for an outside moderator.) One of the opposition votes was based on the idea that "driverless car" is more common only because people are uneducated and news articles are fluff and therefore commonality is irrelevant. Another opposition was based on the idea that "driverless car" wasn't more common, which, even in opponents' estimation, wasn't the case. A third pointed to one example of "autonomous" being used. And the fourth pointed to the fact that in earlier times, "driverless" meant a car was moving out of control, although that sense isn't in use today. Interesting as these arguments are, I don't think any of them are strong applications of the article title policy. In contrast, all of the arguments in support were based on "driverless car" being more common, precise and accurate, per the article title policy. Given that "consensus" on Wikipedia "does not mean unanimity" or "the result of a vote," but rather an incorporation of editors' legitimate concerns that respect Wikipedia's norms, I actually think there was a consensus for "driverless car." Also, there was no formal motion for the less-common "self-driving car," and the guy who proposed multiple articles, Marcus, was the one who turned around and was ready to move the article himself. Anyway, I'm asking for your reconsideration because the move review page points out it's quicker to resolve it with you, and because a move review just sounds like a big drawn-out mess. In rereading the discussion, I don't see the consensus you do; I have a feeling that if I move the page, an opponent will ask me here to move it back. You're free to take this to move review, if you feel strongly enough, but I suggest waiting a few months and proposing the move again. 1. It has played in more than 50 Cypriot First Division championship games, ranking it seventh in that league category. Its wrong. I means it has participate in more tha 50 seasons at Cypriot First Division and its in 7th place in this table. See Cypriot First Division#Participations per club. (Strike-throughs are fixed.)

Left-wing members and athletes from the APOEL distanced themselves from the statement Previous phrase was APOEL F.C. sent a greeting by telegram to SEGAS ("cordial brotherly greetings to the entire Greek youth athletes"), on the occasion of National Games, and wished the cease of inner-nation mutiny. Leftist members and athletes of APOEL considered "inner-nation mutiny" as a challenge and political statement of the club, thus they distanced themselves from that statement. I think your prhase dont give the right facts.

10. The next season the club led the second division, ensured its promotion. The league now had three groups, with Nea Salamis in the Larnaca-Famagusta group. With the conquest of the first position in the group, fought for the promotion of the first of the other two groups, the champion group Limassol-Paphos (Antaeus Lemesos) and Nicosia (Orpheus). The next season second division had three groups (three different championships) and not two as previous season. The "champion" of each group (3 teams) play together in a small championships of three teams. The first team at the end get the promotion to first division.

I means that the reserved team of Nea Salamis (not the main team) won the championship of the reserved teams. Not the championship of firt division. It was a significant fact that period.

Glad to help (and your English is much better than my Greek :-)). As a copyeditor, I did my best to rewrite the article in English; in some places I had to guess your meaning, because the prose was impossible to understand. I think featured article is too high to aim for as the article is now (actually, its C-class assessment is pretty accurate but I don't think it's that far from B-class, although WP:Peer review can judge that better than I can). I think the article is a bit too detailed and while I tried to neutralize the Greek-Cypriot POV, it's still there (the unsourced "message of peace" phrase above, which I removed to restore NPOV, is an example of that). I suggest peer review and WP:GAN as your next steps before renominating for FA, and I'll tweak the prose as you've suggested as I have time (I'm copyediting another article now). A Morbid Taste for Bones

Your edits were fine. Question: why did you shorten the summary to less than 800 words then add a note saying the Plot summary was too long? I think it is the shortest summary for any of the entries for the 20 novels in the Cadfael Chronicles series. If you cannot get it short enough for your own standards, who will do that? Here is hoping it stays as short as it is.

Second question: What is the meaning and/or purpose of the Anchor notation in the section title for the Plot summary?

It's not "my standards"; length, I guess, is in the eye of the beholder and to me the "summaries" are still too detailed. The guideline for plot summaries is 700 words maximum (or 3–4 paragraphs for novels), but I didn't have time to cut it down any lower. Another editor tagged the plot summary for length; I just came across the tag, noticed the plot summary was over 1,000 words of near-proseline (very short paragraphs) and did what I could. The {{Anchor}} template is used when a section title is changed, so existing links from other articles still work. I enjoy the Cadfael novels immensely, but WP articles shouldn't look like fansites. So Plot summary is not a title you like (or wikipedia no longer likes?), and thanks for explaining what Anchor means. Trying to shorten the summaries is a challenge because others come in to add the text back, one challenge. And get into arguments about it, a true waste of time. One sentence paragraphs were the result of prior cuts (previously a very long paragraph), and my notion of one topic in a paragraph. I enjoy those books immensely, too. I was glad that you put in the effort to do take out words, and did not simply leave the tag, as many others have done. Prairieplant (talk) 22:15, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

I prefer "plot" to "plot summary"; the latter seems a bit redundant, especially when the "summaries" are long, and the Manual of Style recommends summary style without extraneous words. Yes, edit-warring is a waste of time and I try to just move on when my edits are reverted; it helps not to take it personally, but that's not always easy :-). One small point to consider with the section title plot versus plot summary is finding the Wikipedia entry using google. Usually I type the book title and Ellis Peters, and the Wikipedia entry comes up in the first few entries on the list. For some, however, I must add plot summary to the search key for the Wikipedia entry for the book to show up on the first page of results, keying on the word summary as far as I can tell. I am no expert at all on search keys, but I did find this peculiarity as I worked my through the series. I realize that might not bear on your preference, but it is a consideration in making the entries easy to find. I prefer plot summary over plot as the section title for that reason, and because I did make an effort to get all the books to have some standard aspects in their Wikipedia entries. Not a major goal, but a way to see if all the sections are present, along with references. I know your Anchor notation will keep the plot summary linked within Wikipedia even if shortened to Plot, but it does not affect external searches, does it? Talk:SMART criteria#Requested move

Hi Miniapolis,

I came here to tell you that I have reopened the move discussion you closed at Talk:SMART criteria#Requested move. I think getting the opinion of others would help. Also, the sole opposer has not responded to my comment. I have left messages in a few places asking people to comment (on talk pages of editors of the page and on the business WikiProject). I probably should have done that before. (I recall that the guidelines used to recommend that but I couldn't find anything recommending it now. Maybe I am thinking of a different kind of discussion.)

I left a message on the talk page explaining some of this but BDD seems to think this is some kind of personal attack by me on you so I thought I should come here and explain what I have done and reassure you that it was not intended to be an attack on your ability as an admin or anything else.

It's not an "attack," but you are completely ignoring the RM process. You can't just turn around and overrule a closing administrator because you don't like the decision she came to. The discussion was closed. What part of "Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. I have given my reasons for reopening the discussion. You haven't addressed those. First you accuse me of being disrespectful and disruptive. Now you present me with an argument based on process. Process can be very helpful but Wikipedia is not a bureaucracy. If we go outside the process it obviously helps if we explain what we are doing and why in a civil way. Um. I see no evidence of a reopened discussion—not at Talk:SMART criteria, WP:RM or WP:Move review (which is where you should go, if you're unhappy with the decision). I stand by my close; there was no consensus to move the page, pure and simple. You yourself said "I don't feel strongly about this", so I don't know what's going on. Check the page history. Yaris reopened, I reverted, and we repeated the process again. Yaris, I may have misread your intentions, but if that is the case, please note that your actions easily led themselves to such. There's a reason we have warning templates for people who remove templates like {{afd}}. We're not a bureaucracy, but process is important. If you're new to RMs, I don't mean to WP:BITE. But there's really no case where it's appropriate for an involved editor to reopen a closed discussion. Create a new section, reach out to the closing administrator, or even to another involved editor. That's all fine and good. Overriding the decision of the closing admin is not. Now, I'm sure this was a good faith error. You wouldn't have contacted me at all if you were intending to subvert the process. Miniapolis, would you be ok with relisting the discussion? It's okay with me, but I don't think it's necessary and (more to the point :-)) I don't know how to do it; RM discussions, I believe, are removed from the backlog by a bot shortly after they're hatted. I posted an explanation on Yaris' talk page. Miniapolis 02:16, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

• Relisting is easy. Just add <small>''Relisted''. ~~~~</small> right before the nominator's initial signature, and the RM bot will list it with that day's discussions instead of where it was before. (Relisting comments are best done as a line in the discussion itself, however. I'm not sure exactly how this works, but the RM bot frequently doesn't understand if there's more than "Relisted" added in the nomination.) --BDD (talk) 20:34, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Minefields in Croatia

Hi! Thank you for taking time and effort to copyedit Minefields in Croatia article. I took a look at your edits so far and have no objections. Except, I'm wondering if there was a specific reason to change the "mine awareness" to "mine warning" in the billboard photo caption. The billboard poster is not an actual landmine warning device, but a part of an advertising campaign to raise funds for demining. Such campaigns are take place regularly in Croatia (as in this example where mine awareness ad posters are seen in context of urban settings). I'm concerned that readers might get an (incorrect) idea that billboard posters are used to indicate minefields. The image captioned as "Standard minefield sign" depicts the only design of the mine warning signs in use in Croatia right now.--Tomobe03 (talk) 22:32, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
