Rosa Parks? edit

Do you have a link to this story? I've searched google, cnn and bbc news and haven't seen a story about her death. I'd rather see the story linked than have someone come by and remove it as vandalism. --Syrthiss 02:17, 25 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I got the story from WDIV TV in Detroit. Here's the link:

Thanks! That was going to be my next search level, local detroit news. Sad to hear that she died. :( --Syrthiss 02:38, 25 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Bad faith comments edit

You need to be careful when making comments like you did on the Barnard Hughes AfD. The AfD nominator based his nomination on a one-line article, and technically he was in the right to bring it up for AfD. I would not have brought it up for AfD, but that is because I believe articles should have a few days to mature. Remember to assume good faith unless presented with evidence to the contrary. Roach Motel (band) edit

A tag has been placed on Roach Motel (band), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please write {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Missvain 05:53, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bill Dawley edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Bill Dawley, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. An editor has nominated Philip de Vellis, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Lucy Webb edit

Thank you for your addition of the other Lucy Webb to the Wikipedia.

As a bit of backstory, there is also a child actress named Lucy Webb from the UK. (EastEnders? Emmerdale? One of those types of soaps.) Articles about her were repeatedly posted (and then speedily deleted), because child actors are not notable.

By contrast, I think a case can be made for the notability of this Lucy Webb. Please, as you find sources, add them to the article. I'd love to see it grow into a solid enough article that it's never even remotely considered for deletion. Thank you, and happy contributing! —C.Fred (talk) 17:33, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Notability of Nunatuk edit

A tag has been placed on Nunatuk, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --OnoremDil 11:52, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lifetime template edit

I noticed that you replaced the {{lifetime|1937|LIVING|Law, John Phillip}} template in John Phillip Law with birth- and death-year category tags. In case you weren't aware of it, Template:Lifetime is designed to supercede these categories and the typical {{DEFAULTSORT}} tag that properly sorts some articles. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Myron Kandel moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Myron Kandel, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
