July 2020 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:COVID-19 pandemic are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Notice of ArbCom and Community authorized sanctions edit

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please carefully read this information:

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The specific details of these sanctions are described here.

Broadly, general sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

See also section edit

I noticed you added a link to Thunder River in the See also section of Tapeats Creek. Since Thunder River was already linked in the body of the article, it should not be in the See also section. I went ahead and removed it. Thanks for improving the article. MB 15:00, 23 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Apollo Temple mountain edit

Hello, McAnnis59. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Apollo Temple mountain".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Disambiguation link notification for January 6 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Isis Temple, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Capstone. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:09, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

New pages edit

Hi, three recent pages you created list Grand Canyon as the location, when technically they are in Marble Canyon. USGS defines Marble Canyon as: "A canyon of the Colorado River between Glen Canyon and Granite Gorge, heading at the mouth of Paria Canyon at Lees Ferry and trending southwestward and then south to the mouth of the Little Colorado River; in Grand Canyon NP and Kaibab NF."Ron Clausen (talk) 03:56, 13 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Ron. I will correct. And I obviously really enjoy your work. I spent the entire day with Kwagunt and Malgosa Crest after the Nankoweap Mesa. ( I really got confused for the Tritle vs Brady mess up. Just added a photo to Tritle category- a distance photo profile. It will go in a gallery). Thanks again for correcting me. Draft:Woolsey Butte edit

Thanks for your work in creating the article about Woolsey Butte. Unfortunately, the article in its current state does not fulfill the notability guideline for geographical features since we need sources that go beyond just a map and data tables. You also need reliable sources for a lot of the text, like the namesake and the geology, to name a few. Since you're still actively working on it, I'm going to put it in the draftspace at Draft:Woolsey Butte for now so you address some of these issues first.  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 06:17, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have sent you a note about a page you started edit

Hello, McAnnis59

Thank you for creating Tuna Canyon.

User:Graeme Bartlett, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

There should be some reference that calls this "Tuna Canyon". Mostly the references just say "Tuna Creek". The geology section is unreferenced.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Graeme Bartlett}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

Regarding your Pumapunku edit reversal edit

Hello,

You have reverted a revision on the Pumapunku article, labeling it as fringe among other things.

The revision you have reverted cites published/peer-reviewed research by an international team of researchers affiliated to bona-fide research institutions. The cited research was also able to reproduce the geopolymers in their lab and has been cited by other material science researchers.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0167577X18315982

I am aware of all the pseudoscience circulating around Pumapunku and other archeological sites in South America but this is not the case here. I strongly suggest you correct this situation by restoring the edit.

Your contributed article, Draft Letter 147 edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Draft Letter 147. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Amarna letter EA 147. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Amarna letter EA 147. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Schazjmd (talk) 22:53, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
