Question

How do I make a new suspected sockpuppet page? I strongly feel Henchman and Bowsy are meatpuppets at least. They are abusing AFDs (and RFC) by posting their similar opinions on it. As stated on the case page from before (located here: Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/Henchman_2000): I'm closing this investigation because WP:AGF and in light of everything stated here, these are 2 separate individuals using 1 computer... however, that being the case you both need to be careful about meatpuppetry; soliciting a person sharing your computer to show up to articles for deletion debates or content conflicts on articles and support your position is probably not going to be looked upon very favorably by the community. They deny it of course, but simply abusing and trying to favor the vote by using 2 people on one computer isn't needed. If this was acceptable on Wikipedia: everyone would make multiple accounts, and just claim it's their brother or friend with a different account on the same computer (just to lean AFD discussions in their favor). Anyway, I read how to do a sockpuppet case, but didn't understand how to do it for users that have had a case already. RobJ1981 11:17, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Ok I created it, thanks. The only issue I had was the tag I placed on User:Bowsy. A redlink appears, and I'm not sure why it did. RobJ1981 21:40, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you Llama man! I feel so much better than I did before I logged on today :) This is a very nice compliment coming from an administrator. Regards — Moe 01:06, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Malcolm! Can you please sign my autograph book? Thanks! User:Cremepuff222/Signature

Done. –Llama mantalkcontribs 02:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Was this fair?

User talk:RobJ1981#Bowsy and Henchman: an admin deleted my sockpuppet case against them, claiming it was "harassment". I simply think this is an abuse of power. I think a case needs to be made about them, they abuse AFD and RFC debates. It appears to be meatpuppetry to me. RobJ1981 06:47, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

While I don't think deletion of the page was necessary, I think you should wait at least a month before making a new case. –Llama mantalkcontribs 16:11, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

RfA thanks

Hey, Llama man. Thanks for your support at my RfA. I was quite overwhelmed by the level of support, but I am also trying to address the issues raised against me. One of which was yours: first, I must say I have never had a bad encounter with a llama, not at a zoo, nor any of Jeff Minter's games, nor indeed at Wikipedia. Therefore, I am considering changing my name to "Bubba llama hotep", although I may run it passed WP:RFCN first as it may well be an anagram of something quite rude in some forgotten Aztecan dialect. :D Thanks again, Mr Llama, much appreciated. Bubba hotep 21:01, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

No problem! Personally, though, I think you should rename yourself to "Llama Llama". –Llama mantalkcontribs 22:20, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

User talk:Owie123

Just wondering if you meant to add {{usertalk-vprotect}} to this page (this user isn't blocked). John Reaves (talk) 21:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh...I assumed the user was blocked. Doh. Well, I've removed it now. –Llama mantalkcontribs 03:24, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

owie123

why did you block my user talk page it is my own page so why cant i edit it —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Owie123 (talkcontribs).

Because you continuously blanked the warnings given to you. It has now been unprotected so that you use the {{unblock}} template, but please don't vandalize your user talk page. –Llama mantalkcontribs 02:08, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Question

Is it possible to do a RFC on a project talk page? (see:Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling#Taglines for wrestling events and matches for details). Talking with the users involved with this dispute isn't helping, due to them not agreeing with my opinion (and them assuming everyone is against taglines because of one poll on an article). This is explained more in that talk page link I posted above. I don't ask for a major guideline to come along, all I ask is: either all taglines stay or they all go, not one or the other. RobJ1981 01:38, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't see what would be wrong with that. Create and RFC called Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Taglines for wrestling events and matches, fill out the required info, and include a link to that WT page. If this isn't what you were asking (which might be true), please clarify a bit more. –Llama mantalkcontribs 02:13, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
So I just use the basic sections that a normal RFC would have? RobJ1981 02:26, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Yep. –Llama mantalkcontribs 02:26, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Ok I made it, and hopefully it solves this matter. I left out a few sections due to them being not being applicable to the case. I'm not sure if that was the right thing to do or not though? This dispute is different than normal RFC's, because it's about a general content for many articles, not just one. RobJ1981 03:09, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Is there anywhere I can request an outside comment for the RFC? Because so far: only two people have posted in the RFC (besides me) and both are biased against taglines. They assume it's now a Wrestling guideline (to not have match taglines) because of this: Talk:WrestleMania_23/Archive_1#VOTE:_Battle_of_the_Billionaires. Is there any way to report that? According to bulletproof (once the vote was over): The result of the proposal was oppose listing a match by what it is billed. Consensus is the same for other event articles under WP:PW. That's absolutely wrong. I read the vote, and see no consensus that everyone is against them on each and every article. One vote that clearly doesn't dominate all articles shouldn't be determining a project guideline, but they act like it does. I've asked them for other proof on votes about taglines: none provided yet. Also: that vote had very little people in it, so that's far from consensus (considering the wrestling project has many members). I somehow doubt other polls exist. RobJ1981 17:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Try other steps at WP:DR. I have no opinion on the conflict at hand. If none of the steps work (don't try arbitration yet, as that should should only be used as a last resort), report it to WP:AN; however, please try other steps (besides arbitration) before that. –Llama mantalkcontribs 19:43, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

ack! Reconsider a speedy deletion?

Antischism were pretty well-known amongst the crust punk and anarcho-punk scenes. Probably one of the most well-known American crust bands. Perhaps I'm biased as they're one of my favorite bands, but still, I think you should at the very least undelete it and then list it on AFD. Here are some pages about them on the net: [1] [2] [3] [4]. Just a couple weeks ago I saw a long thread devoted to them on a radical green site, but I can't find it again. Anyways, a lot of their lyrics are all over the net, which is more than I can say for some other punk bands that have articles and have been considered notable. Ungovernable ForcePoll: Which religious text should I read? 08:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

While I respect your decision, Llama man, I do feel it was in haste. I deleted their listing on the list of anarchist musicians after seeing the redlink, but I feel that they are notable. Crust punk is not my most favourite punk subgenre, but even I am acquainted with Antischism. Along with Amebix, Doom (band), Aus-Rotten and a local band called Mutiny, they are one of the few crust bands with a strong following in Melbourne. With that kind of global popularity, they surely meet notability criteria? ~Switch t c g 09:15, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Advise on a user

Hey Llama man,

I don't know who else to ask, so I hope you don't mind.

User:Vgx5 is a new user, but so far all he has done is making nonsense edits, creating nonsense articles, such as one on his own username, making talk pages into forums etc.

He, at least to me it does so, seems to do it in good faith, but someone definitely needs to tell him how things work here, and I'm not really sure how to make that clear to him in a nice way.

Maybe you can tell him, or we can brainstorm together to help him.

Problems with Henchman 2000 again

It's all right here: User talk:Henchman_2000#Stop.2C please. He says I act like a "corrupt admin", and thinks that's not a personal attack. He claims it's just "highlighting flaws". I'm getting very sick of this. Is there anything that can be done? I already have a RFC for Henhcman about his personal attacks towards me: which has done very little to change his ways on Wikipedia. Why did you revert my edit?

Okay, so maybe its a stupid question. The edit was friendly however, and not trollish. You seems like a good guy and have an interesting sense of humor(I just read your user page), but I am a bit puzzled. Also, please post more random thoughts, since I too like bizarre humor.I am your friend, and I have MONEY! 18:46, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

The edit was definitely not trollish; I reverted it because WP:ANI isn't the appropriate place for that type of thing (try Wikipedia talk:Tutorial (Talk pages). I love alliteration, don't you?). As for the random thoughts, there were a couple more that I had before I remodeled my userpage:
  • If someone had a cat named Llama, would they have a llama named Cat?
  • Never forget Chicken Man!
Not as good as the others in my opinion, but still kinda good. –Llama mantalkcontribs 18:53, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Here we go again, it's HubmaN...sorry for the absence from Wikipedia!

Just came to stop by! Nice site redesign, where do you get the icons from? And how did you actually do that page? Anyway, my question: How DO you cite sources anyway? Somehow, I've managed to miss all of the citation quite, and Wikipedia doesn't seem to display it in detail. Thanks in advance! -HuBmaN!!!! 14:29, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

P.S. Do exclamation marks still rule?

Heh, thanks. I combined the ideas of User:Arjun01's old userpage header with User:Luna Santin's to make it. I made User:Llama man/Header by (again) following their leads. As for your question, read WP:CITE (though you probably already did). For example: Say you wanted to cite something from the web. You'd use the template {{cite web}}, and fill in the parameters (which are explained on the template page). The only parameters you'd actually have to use would be "title" and "url", but you should try to fill in as many as possible. For example of the example: If I wanted to cite http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Llama_man, you'd use <ref>{{cite web | title=User:Llama man - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Llama_man}}</ref>, trying to fill in more parameters, at the end of the thing that you want to cite. If you have any questions (which is likely, as this is very confusing; it took me a while to understand it, too), free free to ask, blah blah blah. –Llama mantalkcontribs 19:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and exclamation marks do still rule. –Llama mantalkcontribs 19:02, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

However, it has been noted here [6] that KazakhPol is pushing his own POV, hence my comment on propaganda. Again thank you for reminding me a useful advice, which I will certainly keep in mind. "Take it to RFCN"

Re this diff - [7]. Please read WP:U and WP:RFCN. The first step if a username is dubious is to ask the user to change it, not to submit it for an RFC. Neil (not Proto ►) 22:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, I assumed that the user would first read the "Before listing this user here" before submitting an RFC, as it says there that the user should first be warned with {{subst:UsernameConcern|reason for objection}}. But "never assume" (except good faith, ha ha ha...eh), so every time I remove an unclear username violation from WP:AIV from now on, I'll tell that the user should be warned before RFCN. –Llama mantalkcontribs 23:04, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Semi-protection of Lon Chaney, Sr.

While you were declining the protection for Lon Chaney, Sr., I was semi-protecting the article. It is not true that there has only been one instance of vandalism in the past week, but I do realize that the article has not been the victim of rampant vandalism. The reason I semi-protected the article despite the low numbers of vandalism was the amount of time that vandalism would stay on the article. Browsing through the article's history, you will find vandalism lasting often times for more than half an hour (vandalism, on average, should be reverted in less than five minutes) and as long as nearly six hours. That's just too long. -- tariqabjotu 21:58, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Ugh, I need to look at IPs more carefully; I thought that all the 86.1xx.xxx.xxx IPs were the same. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for protecting the article. — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 22:05, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello Tariqabjotu and Malcolm. As this was my first foray onto the request for protection page I just wanted to make sure that I did not do anything out of line. As Tariqabjotu pointed out there have been five acts of vandalism in the last three days and this is what prompted my request. I do appreciate Malcolm's note that I wasn't violating the three revert rule. It seems that I may be one of a few (or the only editor) that has this actors page on a watchlist, thus the time delay on getting any vandalism reverted so I appreciate the semiprotect status that it now enjoys. Perhaps in a couple of months this person will have moved on and it can be taken off. Again, please feel free to let me know if I have violated any policy and thank you for your time.
