Hi littleb2009, regarding your recent edit on Block (Internet), it is rare that we link to the Wikipedia namespace from articles. Some of these hatnotes are used in disambiguation pages, however, as these are not themselves articles. It's also worth considering that articles that are already disambiguated, such as this one is with "(Internet)", are less likely to need hatnotes per WP:NOTAMB. I see you're relatively new, so welcome to Wikipedia, let me know if you have any further questions. Best, CMD (talk) 04:14, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Trouted (2) edit

  Whack!
You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something silly.

You have been trouted for: restoring uncited challenged text, without supplying RS refs, per wp:burden. 2603:7000:2143:8500:255C:D7EC:A4A2:97C6 (talk) 00:30, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please point out the specific edit in which this happened. --littleb2009Have a chat? 00:36, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
You reverted this. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Meshary_Al-Arada&diff=prev&oldid=1024411132 --2603:7000:2143:8500:255C:D7EC:A4A2:97C6 (talk) 00:39, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'd really like to point out that this is not a BLP because the person that the article is about had died in 2018. Consequently, it would be a better idea to add {{Citation needed}} tags (which look like this:[citation needed]) instead of deleting the text. --littleb2009Have a chat? 00:45, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, come on, why does reverting non-constructive edits get this complicated?
wp:burden does not apply only to blps. And it states clearly "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution." That is clear - it is not the least bit complicated. A failure to edit in accord with wp:burden is problematic. Especially when one uses tools to do so. 2603:7000:2143:8500:255C:D7EC:A4A2:97C6 (talk) 00:54, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hey, if I revert a constructive edit because it was in the middle of several vandal edits, then go straight ahead and restore the constructive edit. I always discuss; I don't edit war.

Its not vandalism edit

It's not vandalism.... I was just asking genuene question about whether an article I wrote counted notable? 72.76.95.136 (talk) 22:10, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

You have been trouted for: YOUR REASON HERE Ira Leviton (talk) 22:55, 29 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I noticed some of the edits that you made on the Typo Team Moss project at Wikipedia:Typo_Team/moss/N. I checked to see how you did one to see if it was the same way I would've handled it, but didn't see any changes at all. So I checked a few others.

I'm not sure if you're doing all of these correctly. If the typos on the Moss page are not corrected on the page on which they appear, nothing is accomplished. As examples, I'm talking about Niobium, where you pointed out that the typos were chemical terms, and North Frisian language, where you said typos fixed as part of a group. Nothing was changed on these pages; without either fixing the typos, tagging them, or making another change, the Moss project software will simply detect them again the next time it's run for that letter. The point is to correct these typos, even if they're not really typos. If they're not changed, then there should be a brief explanation and that entry will eventually be moved to the case notes at the bottom of that Moss page.

Anyway, I made the corrections on those individual pages.

Ira

Ira Leviton (talk) 22:55, 29 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay, thank you. Sometimes I make those kinds of mistakes. And that {{Not a typo}} template — Sometimes the article ends up being filled with purple template text everywhere. --littleb2009Have a chat?Signed on Sunday, May 30, 2021 3:23 (I forgot to sign when I posted this comment.)

OWPC and Partition coefficient edit

Hi Littleb2009

I think it was you who wanted to be WP:bold when you said I think that there should be a section on the octanol-water partition coefficient in this article but it should have a "main page" link to the actual page on the octanol-water partition coefficient. I'm going to go WP:BOLD and do it unless someone points out an issue with my idea by May 1 on Talk:Partition coefficient. There have not been many comments overall but there were no violent objections. If you are willing to go ahead, I'd certainly support that and this would be preferable than leaving the issue unresolved. Can I leave this to you now? Mike Turnbull (talk) 17:16, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sure, why not? It will take some time though. I'm not extremely active, which is great because that means that I'm not a Wikipediholic. (And yes, "Wikipediholic" is a thing. Click the link.) --littleb2009Have a chat? 02:38, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I hope I'm not, either, although the evidence is equivocal.... Thanks for taking this on and ping me if you need any assistance with the task. Also, the discussion about the merge needs to be formally closed at some point. Mike Turnbull (talk) 09:42, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I will close the discussion (not sure how but there has to be a policy page about it) after I finish the task. --littleb2009Have a chat? 15:18, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Angry Mob Noticeboard edit

I appreciate the fixes you did there. And I presume your further edits were done with the understanding that the whole page is purely for the purpose of humor, as are any "requests" made to it. I mean, your editing certainly seemed to be made with that understanding, but you can never be too sure.

In any case, I had damn near forgotten that page existed, and I found our little "conflict" there amusing, and somewhat refreshing in comparison to the self-righteous drama that so much of this project involves. I hope you enjoyed it, as well. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 20:51, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I enjoyed it too and also knew that page was for humor. Because obviously, I would use WP:ANI for serious things.
By the way, I am not a goddess. Or maybe I am. You can never be sure about whether someone is a goddess or not. ;) littleb2009Have a chat? 21:01, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your comment about that RfA edit

I trust that comment was well-intentioned, but I think it came off as much more flippant than you intended and honestly kind of insulting. Vaticidalprophet 22:09, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

There, I striked it out. --littleb2009 (she/her) (talkcontribs) 22:12, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

While you don't need to be an administrator, you don't need to not be one either. The canonical example is Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Megalibrarygirl - I would guess that candidate uses her admin tools once in a blue moon, AFAIK has never blocked anyone, and her primary use of the tools is the odd G6 / G13 restore. That doesn't mean she shouldn't have run for RfA, as the community could clearly see she was trustworthy and responsible. I'm sad that Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Yoninah is a redlink - it should be blue with a summary of "Final 275/0/0".

One of the things I was told before starting my RfA some years back was "don't let the tools stop you from creating content", and I've taken over 100 articles through GA and DYK each since then. Indeed, if I'm doing a lot of admin stuff (like this week), alarm bells start ringing and I scramble around to find some content work (which is why said admin work is interspersed with minor updates to a few articles and some copyedits). (talk page stalker) @TigerScientist: The basic guidelines say, "Traditionally, Wikipedia offers wide latitude to users to manage their user space as they see fit." So your edits were not helpful. The only things you should really be changing on Littleb2009's user page are reverts of blatant vandalism or threats from other users, excessive polemic or completely off-topic rants, or moving messages that were supposed to be for the talk page, none of which are on the page as as I look at it now. Please stop. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:06, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ritchie333 so I can't edit grammar issues and stuff that would clearly make it better? I understand that a user has full power of their user page but my edits were not helpful? I have asked them How were they not helpful so many times. TigerScientist Chat > contribs 17:09, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ritchie333 clearly they were helpful because their user page now uses my version and they didn't revert my new helpful edit. Case closed. WW3 has ended. TigerScientist Chat > contribs 17:17, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay, that's enough. I'm blocking you from editing this user's userspace. Your edits were not helpful because a) they have nothing to do with writing or improving an encyclopedia and b) the user in question didn't want you to make them.
