Okefenokee Map
edit74.190.247.131 (talk) 20:43, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Hello Karl,
I would love get your GIS shapefiles on the Okefenokee map. Great Job

Santa Cruz River (Arizona, USA) map
editHi Kmusser, This is my first talk message so apologies if I have not done this correctly!
I am interested in your source for the Santa Cruz river layer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Cruz_River_%28Arizona%29 The sources that I have are not correct (e.g. National Atlas). I tried to follow your source links but I had trouble finding the correct NHD files. Can you provide any guidance? Thanks in advance for your help! Great Maps! MikeD19 (talk) 14:19, 14 February 2011 (UTC)MikeD19
- I'll have to check, but I thought I just used National Atlas for that one - what did you find in the National Atlas that was different? For the bit in Mexico I would've used the Hydro1K and DCW links on my source page. NHD I only use for small rivers so definitely didn't use it here, you'd have to combine a lot of files to do the Gila, although it could be useful for doing a Santa Cruz specific map, I use the files arranged by 4-digit HUC on their ftp site at ftp://nhdftp.usgs.gov/DataSets/Staged/SubRegions/FileGDB/HighResolution/. Kmusser (talk) 17:24, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks again. The problem was that the Santa Cruz and San Pedro Rivers were not correct in the National Atlas data. For example, the file shows the Santa Cruz running into the Gila. In any case, it was helpful to hear that you needed to use multiple data sets and that you have also seen errors in the files. I ended up working with a file from ALRIS along with National Atlas and did a little freehand drawing in order to make it work. Thanks for the tip about DCW as well!--MikeD19 (talk) 01:09, 15 February 2011 (UTC)MikeD19
- More recently I've taken to using VectorMap rather than DCW, it's cleaned up quite a bit. For all maps I'll factcheck against a commercial atlas as all datasets have errors. Checking I did indeed use National Atlas, but it looks like they've changed the linework since I downloaded it, the version I have has the break before the Gila, looks like someone "corrected" it and introduced the error. Airport Maps
editWhere did you get the base maps for airport destination maps like this: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ohareairportmap.png? They're all unique and slick.122.172.10.201 (talk) 21:13, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I make them using GIS, the basemap is Vector Map, for the points I need the latitude/longitude coordinates of the airports. Kmusser (talk) 02:29, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Kmusser. Please can you update the map for San Juan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sanjuanairportmap.png)? The date for the changes would be May 2011. For non-stop destinations, Eliminate: BGI, LRM, MEM, PAP, POP, POS, UVF (St Lucia operated from SLU); Add: CPX, JAX, SLU. There are other destinations one-stop like LGW-ANU-SJU and CUR-SXM-SJU but I think this map is only for non-stop destinations. Thanks! --Miguelpr91 (talk) 21:54, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- Done, thanks for figuring out the changes needed. Kmusser (talk) 00:49, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hello. Please update the SJU map with these changes: Same format of the IAH map. Already all the destinations of the actual map are non-stop. The new "non-stop destinations" would be: BGI, FRA, LRM. For "direct destinations" add: CUR & LGW. Eliminate: CPX & PSE. The date for the map would be January 2012. Thanks. --Miguelpr91 (talk) 00:22, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
- Please update the map with the last figured changes. Thanks! --Miguelpr91 (talk) 03:45, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

Dry Creek
editHi, Karl. In expanding the stubby articles linked to from List of longest streams of Oregon, I've found one entry on the list that doesn't make sense, and I don't see quite how to fix it. Dry Creek's coordinates match a stream that empties into either Bogus Creek or the Owyhee River, but our longest-streams list says that Dry Creek is a tributary of Crooked Creek and joins it near Burns Junction. I can't figure out by looking at topo maps which Dry Creek in southeastern Oregon is 53 miles long, and I am flummoxed by the National Hydrography Dataset and its tutorials, which I find impenetrable. Can you tell me which Dry Creek is the right one? Finetooth (talk) 21:15, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- The coordinates there are wrong, the description of the mouth and the location on the map are correct - if you're looking at a topo map, find the mouth of Crooked Creek and Owyhee, this Dry Creek is the first major tributary working your way upstream along Crooked Creek, immediately after the Crooked Creek State Wayside and before Rattlesnake Creek. It's entry in GNIS is ID=1120133 which gives the correct coordinates (mouth: 42.7948797, -117.7462685; source: 42.5084903, -117.2954206). The length I had calculated from NHD is 86.344 km. Another potential source of info, in the Watershed Boundary Dataset it's HUC is 1705010904. Looks like it has a couple of reservoirs, Rockhouse and Blevens, and an additional one on a trib, Scott Res. on Indian Fork Creek. Other named tribs are Peacock Creek and Coyote Creek. The Dry Creek that empties into the Owyhee is also fairly long, but fell just short of our cutoff. Kmusser (talk) 16:15, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Looks like the NHD has been updated since I last checked it, I just recalculated the length and got 86.562 km. The drainage basin area is 191,224 acres in WBD. Some stats on the tribs which might also be useful: Indian Fort Creek = 38.995 km (30,288 acres for its basin); Corbin Creek which I missed the first time = 24.879 km (24,482 acres); Peacock Creek = 18.485 km (25,957 acres); Coyote Creek = 9.87 km (basin not defined). Kmusser (talk) 16:36, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks very much. I see it now, and I have corrected the gnis ID and the coordinates in the streams list. The other data will be helpful in my expansion of the Dry Creek article. Finetooth (talk) 17:52, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- I added a geobox and all of the new data today to Dry Creek (Oregon). Finetooth (talk) 20:25, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Looks nice, although the name may have to change eventually as other Dry Creek (Owyhee) would arguably be more notable, it's 10 miles shorter, but it has the larger drainage basin and is permanent rather than intermittent. To add to the confusion there is yet another Dry Creek of significant length in that same general area (Jordan Creek trib). Dry Creek (Oregon) should probably be a disambig page eventually. Kmusser (talk) 22:51, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- There's a whole slew of Dry Creeks in other Oregon counties as well. I should probably go ahead with the name change, to Dry Creek (Crooked Creek) I suppose, sooner rather than later. Finetooth (talk) 23:41, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Disambig page created, take a look. Kmusser (talk) 14:26, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- Very impressive. The disambig page is much more comprehensive than anything I was imagining. It looks great! Finetooth (talk) 16:33, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- On a related note, does the NHD have an easily accessible text file or Excel file maybe that lists stream lengths, or do the lengths have to be summed reach by reach somehow? In my current state of ignorance, I would not have been able to create the Dry Creek list, and I'm not able to verify stream lengths added by other editors to articles I've worked on or have a continuing interest in. Puerco River is an example, but I think more and more examples are going to occur as others begin to cite the NHD for lengths. Finetooth (talk) 18:24, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yes and no, the trick is just that the NHD files are so large (Oregon is 2.3 GB, 1.7 million records) you need to do some queries to get the data down to something that Excel can handle. You need something that can open geodatabase files, and ideally map it as well as visualizing it definitely helps. I'm using ArcGIS, but I suspect there is shareware out there that can too. Once open they are basically a giant spreadsheet. Streams lengths do need to be summed, but it does have the GNIS ID in there, so you can select by that and do subtotals pretty easily. What it doesn't have is what state stuff is in, so for the Dry Creeks I had to locate them on the map to see whether or not they were in Oregon (there are NHD files grouped by state, but they don't cut off at the state line). Raw NHD files are at ftp://nhdftp.usgs.gov/ (DataSets/Staged will get you into the right directories) - I put a sample of my Dry Creek query with some of the extra fields deleted out just so you can take a peek at http://www.fantasymaps.com/stuff/dry_creek.xlsx Also to note, just like the GNIS I do occasionally find errors in it, so I'll still usually check it against a topo map - in the list I just did one length of Willow Creek had Dry Creeks GNIS code which you can't tell from the spreadsheet but was pretty obvious when mapped. Kmusser (talk) 19:05, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- I uploaded http://www.fantasymaps.com/stuff/oregon_nhd.xlsx which probably gives a better snapshot, that's all Oregon NHD (which extends about 20 miles outside Oregon) records that also had a GNIS code. Kmusser (talk) 19:24, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will keep trying. Finetooth (talk) 21:24, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

editI like your "provinces of Tibet" map very much. The fuzzy boundaries get the point across well and show the overlap with political boundaries. Thanks!—Greg Pandatshang (talk) 22:31, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Tibetan map
editHi,
Thanks for the map File:Tibet provinces.png. However, I'm a bit puzzled by it. It calls itself "Tibet provinces", but is a map of languages. Ladakhi is missing. The red would appear to be the Central Tibetan languages, but is missing the varieties of Ladakh, Qinghai, Sikkim, and Bhutan. So, although beautiful, it would seem to be less accurate than the map it replaced. — kwami (talk) 23:26, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, I see, it wasn't supposed to be anything more than the provinces. The fuzzy boundaries threw me. I wonder, though, how it squares with the claim at Amdo that "In 1928, the northeastern region of Amdo became part of the Qinghai province of the Republic of China." Is that statement wrong? — kwami (talk) 23:30, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- I actually have no idea, I was replacing an existing map and didn't change the regions, just the look of the map, neither the previous map, nor that statement are sourced, so I'm not sure which is right. I'll take a look around and see if I can find a source that backs up either one.Kmusser (talk) 00:17, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- OK, Google seems to support the map over that sentence, I'll adjust it accordingly. Kmusser (talk) 00:22, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

- What the sentence is saying is that Amdo is a northeastern region, not that Qinghai is the northeastern part of Amdo. Actually, since the border area between Qinghai and the TAR is so sparsely inhabited (and probably mostly by nomads) it may be hard to say whether Amdo does or does not extend beyond Qinghai. There's an Amdo County in the TAR, but it could be misnamed (which is what Wikipedia says, albeit with a source).
- Actually, Kmusser's map is arguably inaccurate insofar as Ü-Tsang properly does not extend as far as shown: it's really just the more densely populated area around Lhasa, Shigatse, and Gyantse. But people seem to be getting in the habit of describing the whole area west of Kham and Amdo as Ü-Tsang because it's easier than saying "Ü, Tsang, Lhokha, Ngari, Changthang, etc. so in this context I think it's okay to show Ü-Tsang with the wider boundaries.—Greg Pandatshang (talk) 01:56, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
Loire basin map

your maps are realy great! I have a request for a river in Africa - The Pangani in Tansania. Unfortunatly the english Wiki has not one artikel of this riversystem. But I worked it out in the german one with a lot of coords; see de:Kategorie:Flusssystem Pangani and sw:Pangani (mto). When you have time (one day), I would be realy happy when you get it worked out. Massachusetts colonial map
editHi. I really like File:Masscolony.png, but I've got a few somewhat picky issues with it, based on recent delvings into early Massachusetts history. I wondering if you might be able to work some of these into the image:
- Mass Bay claimed and administered Block Island by right of conquest in the Pequot War. See citations in Massachusetts Bay Colony.
- Mass Bay claimed and administered an area around Stonington, Connecticut by right of conquest in the Pequot War. Also cited in Massachusetts Bay Colony.
- The map does not address the many border issues Mass Bay and successors had with RI, especially the communities on the eastern shore of Narragansett Bay. This has a very messy history, lasting into the 19th century, whose details I don't know well. The eastern shore communities were transferred from MA to RI in 1746.
- The 1691 Mass Bay charter included Nova Scotia (i.e present NS+NB, or all of Acadia) in the Province of Massachusetts Bay; this claim was effectively nullified by the Treaty of Ryswick, which confirmed French possession of Acadia.
- The islands (Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and the Elizabeth Islands) were part of the Province of New York (Dukes County, Province of New York) before going to Mass in 1691 charter.
- New Hampshire was not "part of Massachusetts" in 1688-1691; both were part of the Dominion of New England (1686-1689). NH was without government 1689-1691, and was ruled de facto by the Mass Bay governor.
- Massachusetts held land claims for the "Narrangansett Country" (now Washington County, Rhode Island). I am uncertain as to the time frames of this claim, but it was extinguished during the first Mass Bay charter.
I'm not sure there is really room in the image to explain all of these, but marking some of these areas as "once claimed/controlled by Massachusetts", might be one way to approach it.
Thanks for your great map work. Magic♪piano 20:44, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the comments, all the RI border issues really aren't going to show up at that scale - they need their own map to be shown properly. I got into some of that with the Plymouth map and it is indeed messy. Part of the reason I don't have a RI map as part of the series. Note that border issues with CT aren't shown for the same reason, they wouldn't show up, they are on the CT map. Nova Scotia is already in the map. I think the islands are ok as well, it already says they joined Mass in 1691 and they are shown on the NY map as leaving NY in 1691. I did fix the NH note. Kmusser (talk) 00:22, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- I suppose that one would have to do an svg map (a whole different kettle of fish) in order to get all the detail in. Thanks again for your attention. Magic♪piano 12:37, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Ganges River map
editHello Karl, hope all is well with you. There's been a flurry of activity on the Ganges River page recently, but a lack of good, modern maps. I was thinking of making a new map myself, but realistically am unlikely to get to it. So I thought I'd ping you. I notice you made the map on the Brahmaputra River page, File:Brahmaputrarivermap.png, long ago. I'm thinking of a map showing the Ganges and Brahmaputra (and Meghna River), since they are so closely related, perhaps also showing their watersheds separately somehow (something like this ugly map maybe). I've been trying to figure out the complex mesh of rivers in the Ganges Delta and the complexity of it reminded me your comment about working out the Finger Lake drainage system. It seems to me that a map showing the full Ganges-Brahmaputra basin would not be able to show much detail of the delta region, and have myself been slowly making a map of just the delta. As always, I know you may be pretty busy. Thought you might be interested though—just one of the largest most important river systems in the world! Pfly (talk) 04:01, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know it needs one, I've looked at those pages before, but I'm unlikely to get to it soon either. As a source though the current National Geographic has an article on Bangladesh that has a nice map of the delta region. Kmusser (talk) 13:06, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- I saw that National Geographic map/article, very nice. Well, I will put on my list making this map. I can picture it. If only picturing it was as simple as producing it. Pfly (talk) 07:24, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Caribbean general map
editI noticed you made a new map Caribbean_general_map.png, which is displayed on the Caribbean page. I like the visual design of the new map, but it has significantly fewer islands labeled than on the previous map CaribbeanIslands.png, which I created. Can you expand the labeling on the new map? If not, I'd like to revert back to the previous map, as I think it's really important to include these labels. Gruepig (talk) 06:44, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
- One of my goals was to have a map that was readable at the size it was used in articles. I could add a few, but if I add anything close to the level of detail you had they would be too small to be seen. I purposely did not overwrite the other map so that editors could pick and choose between them. I don't mind if you revert. You might also consider using the original CIA map if you want more detail, the reason your version was brought to the Map Workshop to be fixed was that you cut off a bunch of the original labels. Kmusser (talk) 13:49, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, thanks for the background; I wasn't aware of the discussion the Map Workshop. I won't be able to get around to it right away, but I'll fix the truncated labels on the map, and then try to figure out which versions of the map make the most sense for which articles. Gruepig (talk) 03:26, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- Adding my 2¢: labels aside (though I think Kmusser's is better for the general reader more interested in summary style), the base map used is much more pleasing to the eye than the one with all the labels. No offense meant of course, but coming from an outsider, I thought that would be useful. upstateNYer 01:58, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
anti corruption
editHe Kmusser, you did the anticorruption convention map last november (File:UNCACmap.svg) and meanwhile there are 4 more ratifications: Iceland, India, Thailand and Nepal. Would you be able to make an update (don't worry, I don't intend to ask you every 6 months, but as it's quite a significant amount of land area involved now...)? If not, then I will place a request at the maps workshop. Tnx! L.tak (talk) 21:00, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- That's an easy one, done. Kmusser (talk) 15:43, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
- That s weird, I don't see a difference yet; did you upload the correct version? L.tak (talk) 21:08, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, it's up, you may need to clear your cache and reload to see it. Kmusser (talk) 02:33, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I can see you uploaded a new version of the file, but India, Nepal etc are still not in light green upon this command [1]. As far as I can tell the image that you uploaded is exactly identical to the image of december... L.tak (talk) 07:25, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

hmmm, and now it's ok! apparently I needed also to purge the image itself or so.. It looks correct; thanks! L.tak (talk) 07:29, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Cambodia Kampong Thom Locator Map
editIs the outline of Kampong Thom Province correct or does it go further North?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.167.214.58 (talk) 22:36, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks for catching that - it doesn't go further north, but it does go further west, I only had 1/2 the province. Kmusser (talk) 23:35, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

editHi Karl, I've created a cave map for Oregon Caves National Monument. It's File:Oregon Caves Cave Map.png. Do you have any suggestions for improvement? In particular, I'm wondering whether the colors are effective. Finetooth (talk) 22:01, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
- I think that works just fine. For caves I've also seen elevation profiles, which are nice for showing how deep it goes, not sure if that data is available for Oregon Caves though. Kmusser (talk) 00:34, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- I found an elevation profile in Geology of Oregon, but it's under copyright. I'm hoping to find one in the public domain that I can copy and alter. Finetooth (talk) 00:50, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Map request: Portland International Jetport destinations
editHello,
I made a map request at Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/Map workshop, and another Wikipedian pointed out the excellent map you made for the BWI article. I was wondering if you would be interested in making a similar map for the Portland International Jetport (PWM) article.
The destinations are as follows (in no particular order): Toronto (YYZ), Yarmouth (YQI), Baltimore (BWI), Atlanta (ATL), Orlando (MCO), Newark (EWR), Cleveland (CLE), New York (LGA), New York (JFK), Detroit (DTW), Washington DC (IAD), Washington DC (DCA), Chicago (ORD), Charlotte (CLT), and Philadelphia (PHL).
Thanks! –BMRR (talk) 01:35, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sure, I'm not sure when I'll get to it as the day job has been keeping me pretty busy lately, but will do. Kmusser (talk) 11:31, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Another map request
editI have another request. :-) This one is a bit more complex. There's absolutely no rush, but if it's something you'd be willing to do, it would be most helpful: Pan Am Railways, a holding company that operates freight railroads in New England and New York. The corporate entity that operates the various rail lines is called Springfield Terminal Railway Company. I've seen this abbreviated on various maps/atlases as ST, STRR, STRY, or GRS (Pan Am Railways was known as Guilford Rail System until 2006). Some maps, even recent ones, still label PAR's lines with the names of the predecessor companies: Boston & Maine Corporation (BM), Maine Central Railroad Company (MEC), and Portland Terminal Company (PTM). Long story short, I'm not sure how easy or difficult it would be to make this map, but if it's something you'd like to take on, it would be a huge improvement for the article! The company's made-in-house map can be found here. Thanks, BMRR (talk) 20:10, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe, I think I do have the data that would be needed to do that, probably won't be anytime soon though. Kmusser (talk) 01:16, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
Map Request!
editI love your maps! I use them in teaching U.S. History. I am hoping you would tackle making a map similar to the one you did of Oklahoma/Indian territory that simplifies in a colorful way the indian reservations/agencies that existed during and at the end of the Indian Wars. All the maps I have seen try to include too much information and it gets CRAZY. Thanks! Profgordon8 (talk) 00:34, 4 October 2011 (UTC) Prof. Elizabeth Gordon
- Thanks, do you have a good source for that sort of thing? Oklahoma was easy as the Census Bureau uses the former reservations as statistical areas, but I don't have a source for other historical reservation boundaries. I did one map for the Sioux with historical boundaries on it based on the actual treaty descriptions and that was difficult enough just for the one reservation. Rivers of Ponce
editHello Kmusser. Sometime ago [3] you created maps for the barrios of Ponce [4] and I have been busy adding to those 31 articles during the last 18 months. I am now to the point of working 1 or 2 of them into GA status. Thanks!
However I am been working in the last few months on another concurrent project, the 14 rivers of Ponce ([5]).
My question is, do you make maps of rivers and, if so, could you develop them for me to add to the 14 river articles?
I am not sure where to start, let me know what you would need as I probably have it. Thanks! Mercy11 (talk) 17:56, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sure I can do that, should already have the data files needed. Kmusser (talk) 15:06, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- Wonderful! and if you have data files, then you have something I didn't. Great to hear that! Thanks, Mercy11 (talk) 18:11, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hi! Was wandering if you had anything done yet that I could use. Thanks !! Mercy11 (talk) 15:03, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, the day job has kept me too busy to do anything for wiki, not sure when I'll get to it. Kmusser (talk) 16:53, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hi! Can you direct me where I can post this sort of request. Maybe there are others that could also do this work. Thanks! Mercy11 (talk) 16:13, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- You can ask at the map workshop, good for simple maps, but most complicated requests just get ignored. We're still lacking in cartographers. I may have some time to do it over the Thanksgiving holiday. Kmusser (talk) 20:26, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- OK! no problem. If nothing has happened by the end of the thanksgiving weekend I will now you couldnt get to it and will post at the workshop. Have a nice Thanksgiving!!! Mercy11 (talk) 13:10, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

- Success. Check out File:Ponce rivers.svg. Data files for those didn't exist after all, but I was able to trace them off a topo map and found all the ones in your list. Kmusser (talk) 04:11, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- Kmusser, hope you had a great Thanksgiving!!!
- Hey the map looks great, great, great!!! There is one error though: the diagram is showing the old path for Río Portugués. But the river was diverted about 30 years ago by the USA Corps of Engineers and, now, once it "exits" the urban area of Ponce (which you marked in pink), instead of heading south-southWEST as you have it showing, the river actually heads south-southEAST to feed into Río Bucaná. (See HERE)
- Other than that if you could
- (1) Move the name "Prieto" further south, so there is no ambiguity as to what river is the portion between the mouth of Rio Blanco and the mouth of Rio San Patricio. (It is a part of Prieto, not part of Blanco).
- (2) Reduce the size of the letters used for naming the rivers, so they wont be bumping into each other (reduction for all the names would be ideal to keep point size consistent, but at least Matilde and Portugues seem to need more room)
- (3) Is there a way to superimpose the map of Ponce barrios (THIS one) so they could be used as a reference to the relative location of the 14 rivers?
- Thanks a billion!!! Mercy11 (talk) 19:46, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- On point 1, both the topo map and GNIS label that section as part of Rio Cerrillos and have the mouths of the Blanco and Prieto at the same point, do you have something that says otherwise? At any rate will adjust labels to be unambiguous. Can fix the others, font sizes are always tricky in svg because it isn't wysiwyg and I was trying to make them big enough to be readable in the thumbnail. Kmusser (talk) 20:49, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- Fixes made. Kmusser (talk) 21:16, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hum,,,let me research this Prieto/Blanco/Cerrillos discrepancy and I'll get back to you. If it aint too much hassle could we move the "Jacaguas" name to appear inside to municipal borders? I sort of think it would look more cohensive. What do you think? In any event Thanks! and I'll be getting back to you with my findings!

Some confusion here. The river it is supposed to be part of is actually a river of Borneo not Java. You created the list I believe, can you verify this?♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:51, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- Looks like it already got dealt with, when I made that list I only included the largest rivers, there are actually 11 streams called Kaso in Indonesia (8 in SW Java, 1 in central Java, 1 in Borneo, and 1 in Sulawesi), but I think most of those are very small. For what it's worth Ci is just river in the local dialect (I assume Sundanese), so it could be either Ci Kaso (local spelling) or Kaso River (translated). My main reference for that sort of thing is Geonet (http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/index.html). Kmusser (talk) 04:33, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
