Eugene Chodorow, c. 1939

The Fine Art Edit-a-Thon will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (DCPL) at the Library Lab.

When
  • Saturday, December 17, 2011
  • 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Where
What

The Fine Art Edit-a-Thon will be an opportunity to encourage Wikipedians of all experience levels to work together and independently to document artists and artwork related to the Federal Art Project, specifically subjects related to the Archives of American Art's recent image contribution on Commons.

  • Check out this "to-do" list of article suggestions: Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 26/To-do list
  • Resources from the MLK Library will be utilized as well as online resources.
  • You don't have to be a Wikipedian to help crop and clean up images for use in articles!
  • Contribute to existing articles or write new articles in whatever language.
  • Help your fellow contributors out - lend a hand when needed and help out new editors!
  • Even if you don't feel like writing about art, we welcome you to come.

This will be a great chance to bring a friend and share with them your love for editing. Wikipedians of all experience levels welcome.

Meetup edit

After the Fine Art Edit-a-Thon a Meetup will be held at the Irish Channel Pub located just a few blocks away from the library in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Attendees to the Meetup do not have to attend the Edit-a-Thon!

When

Where
What
  • This meetup will be for Wikipedians, GLAM professionals, and whoever else you choose to bring!
  • It'll be a cool chance to mix and mingle with fellow Wikipedians and supporters of our mission from the culture sector.
  • You don't have to attend the Edit-a-Thon to be a part of the Meetup!
  • Eat, drink and be merry!
  • All ages welcome.

You can RSVP below and/or sign up on our Eventbrite invite page! We encourage you to share these links, as well!
