== John Mayer peer edit ==

Thanks so much for you second set of eyes; they are so useful when one has read an article 500 times and can no longer see the trees for the forest. Some of the issues you addressed I agree with (and have gotten in disputes over with another editor that I suspect is either an eager teenager, or just not that apt in the English and Relevancy departments. Other things, I hadn't noticed. Thanks again!--Esprit15d (talk ¤ contribs) 13:29, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

All, I have significantly updated/upgraded the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band page. It still needs work, but is a vast improvement from the previous version. I'd really like to do this page myself so ya'll can comment in its FA review in a week or two. If you have any feedback, please drop me a line on my talk page. I have decided to try and upgrade the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band article to Featured Article status (from a normal article...quite a leap) all by myself. I think its pretty damn good right now, but I would appreciate a once-over before I submit it in 24 hours (6 AM CDT). Once submitted, I expect unconditional some support from you guys. Orphaned non-free image (Image:DebbieMacomber.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:DebbieMacomber.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:40, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome back. how are you? enjoy your trip. we have done a lot since you were gone. i think we are missing your touch to our pages. we missed ya. i hope you don't mind being inducted into the A&M wikiproject without being asked. hope you had fun. see ya. Oldag07 15:25, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

of course, do what fits you best. first and formost it would be best to organize everything on the project. it would be nice to sort out the articles, and rate them on the TAMU wikiproject. after that. i am not sure what strategy we would like to do. either, get all the "main articles" to GA first, and then try to bring them up to FA. or try to concentrate on one article at a time and bring them one by one to FA. I downloaded the campus master plan, and it has a really good history of the texas A&M campus. that would pretty much complete the Campus of Texas A&M University page. i have already started an outline on that page from what i have read so far. it is good to have you back. I am trying to tame my wikiholic tendencies. not working all that well. as for college, well i am cheating. for this summer, i have signed up for fun classes here. taking figure drawing summer one and accounting 2 summer 2. then i head off to Ohio for the americorps. of course i will be in a college town up there. Ohio State. darn yankees. oh well. have a great one Oldag07 22:33, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Starting 2 core Texas A&M Pages

I created chimera test articles from different articles for new pages that I have suggested should we choose to go for the featured topic award. Most of what i did was copy and paste. none of the sections flow.

I need some suggestions on where to continue. especially on student life, although we could expand some of the colleges.

remember to get featured topic status just have to get them to GA status. i don't think these articles are FA type articles anyways. Thanks for your help. Oldag07 12:35, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Again?

I've completed all of your suggestions. I've also improved the article in other small ways. If possible, could you look through the article one more time? Also, do you think that this article would be ready for GA? --Psychless 23:14, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, i haven't until that last message, actually said my gender. While OldAg07 might be a nice wikipedia editor, and maybe even be a decent guy in real life, I have posted some inflammatory stuff on TexAgs. Thus, I prefer that the "oldag07" identity would be unknown. blueag and i were both logged on to the point where we both log on at the same time and we knew it. so i quickly put up my AIM screen name and told him to delete it as fast as possible. She was a good catch as they say. you seem like a nice person too. well than, I apologize for all my secrecy. if you read though blueag's the history page, you probably can catch my AIM screen name. List of romantic novelists

Without articles, there is no way to know which are valid and notable but don't currently have articles, and which are simply vanity edits by unpublished or self-published authors. IrishGuy talk 01:17, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

So additions by anonymous users or brand new users that make no other edits ...I am to believe there is a reasonable probability that these will become articles? That they aren't just vanity entries? IrishGuy talk 01:35, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

80% of that list are redlinks. That is rediculous. The list is insanely long and the vast majority are redlinks. Actually, I have removed redlinks from other lists. It takes time. This is an encyclopedia, not the yellow pages. People come to that article to learn more about authors...which they can't do when 80% of them don't even have articles. Whenever you have time I wouldn't mind if you looked over Talk:List of romantic novelists#promoting websites and let me know if you think I'm being paranoid or not. Thanks! --ImmortalGoddezz 15:55, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of romantic novelists

Hi Karanacs. Thanks, I consider interesting to see the date of birth and death of the authors, without having to visit their pages. I'm using the format ISO 8601, because I believe that it is shorter and better to visualize it in a list. Belagaile 07:54, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Karanacs. I have eliminated only the links that took to pages that weren't of romance authors. Example: Samantha Carter, She isn't an author is a fiction character. I'll change the dates' format.
OK, when I eliminates a link, I'll create another new one. Belagaile 06:46, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dead links on A&M History page

FYI, see talk page. BQZip01 talk 04:46, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not going to oppose based on this, but they do need to be fixed and I'd hate for someone else to catch it before they were fixed. BQZip01 talk 19:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

NICE JOB

Excellent work! BQZip01 talk 19:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think the A&M Wikiproject members each working on one project with the others supporting seems to work pretty well. I've got a rough outline of what I am going to to with the Corps of Cadets page and I should have it up in a few weeks. Any help you can provide at that time would be appreciated (I intend to do a one-step to FA status just like the FTAB article). BQZip01 talk 03:37, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Karanacs. you never complain, and you always do good work. things like that should be said more often. Oldag07 05:30, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Here, here. We have our disagreements, but we always seem to resolve them. Glad to work with you! BQZip01 talk 17:02, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

FAC History of Baltimore City College

Thanks for your contribution to the discussion concerning this article. At this point, I think I have addressed most of your concerns. That being said, I was the major contributor to the article originally so I do not know how effective my copy edit was. After all, my prose is not going to sound nearly as problematic to me as it will to others, considering that I should know what I am trying to say. Anyway, thanks again for your contribution. Golem88991 16:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the copy edit and all of your help with the article. I really appreciate it. My prose has always been problematic. Golem88991 15:13, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Karancs, I just wanted to let you know that specific cite templates are not a requirement of WP:WIAFA. Many editors hate them. Consistently formatted citations is the only requirement. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:12, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:JamesTruchard.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 22:18, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

WTF??

Any idea what happened to the History of Texas A&M page? it is gone from the list of FACs? I hope it made it!!! BQZip01 talk 17:04, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good! Thank GOD the History of Georgia Tech article didn't make it. It was awful and the primary editor was an ass! BQZip01 talk 17:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

On a lighter note

I'd love to help on the Bonfire page and get it up for FA ASAP so it can be up on the main page for its 10th anniversary. Wanna go for it?!? BQZip01 talk 17:04, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

There are a lot of sources on the web. We just have to be careful about which ones we use and where they come from (limit Battalion/BCS Eagle articles as much as possible). In addition, a lot of the articles cover the same information. It wouldn't be too difficult to reference each sentence with a new reference. :-)
I think this is one of those articles where one person should be in charge with a few people helping. You wanna lead it, or should I?
If you want to lead it, I suggest a simple timetable and assign sections to all who want to help and give them concrete ideas on how to improve the article. I'd be happy to help come up with the plan if you want to head it up. BQZip01 talk 17:27, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
All right then. I'll take the lead. Give me a couple of days to look it over and get an idea of where we need to go with it and I'll get in touch with you and others. BTW, enjoy your medal. You earned it:
  The Featured Article Medal

Scratch a couple of days. My basic outline is on the talk page. Let's roll!!! BQZip01 talk 17:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hell, I'm basically done. Now all I have to do is go back and make sure it satisfies the WP:MoS criteria (you know, all that stuff no one actually sees, but is required). Ready for FA?!? BQZip01 talk 20:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Peer review

I noticed your thorough and helpful reviews at WP:PR and wondered if you would be willing to peer review an article I have written on Thoughts on the Education of Daughters by Mary Wollstonecraft. I would, of course, be willing to peer review or copy edit an article in return. Here are some samples of my work: a recent peer review of Poe's "The Raven" and some quick copy editing I did a few days ago - [1] and [2]. Awadewit | talk 04:32, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reveille

Howdy Karanacs. Did you know there is a comprehensive book about Rev? It's called Reveille: First Lady of Texas A&M. I actually borrowed a copy from Evans and started reading it. Unfortunately I was busy with course work at the time so I only read one part of the book that talks about the "Origins of Reveille". As I read I summarized the text here. Do you think we should add that to the Reveille article? BlueAg09 (Talk) 06:21, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikibreak

I am going to take a serious wikibreak for at least the next month. i am moving to a new place, and i really need to get settled and wikipedia is on the bottom of my priorities at the moment second only to texags. i really am not sure how much free time i will have when i finally get settled down. ill try not to be completely inactive, but for me, the best way to get away from something is cold turkey. it has been great working with yall. gig em! Bonfire chart

A chart like that would be very useful but,

  1. Use smaller text so it doesn't take up so much space.
  2. Combine Cut and Load; use weeks, not weekends (it continued throughout the week as well)
  3. Maybe add some color to it?

there's my 2 cents BQZip01 talk 18:26, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll tweak as necessary BQZip01 talk 19:02, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

John Frusciante peer review

John Frusciante's peer review has been up for a few days now and has yet to yield a review. You were so helpful with the critique you offered during its first review a couple months ago, that we'd be honored if you'd review it again. It's worth saying that the article has undergone a complete revitalization since you first reviewed it, so expect something different if you choose to take a look. Unconditional thanks.
