The library computer mouse

It was after hours for the person who could fix it. I didn't report it at the time for that reason, and there were no other available computers, but I decided to ask at the reference desk.

While I don't know what specifically was wrong, I was there this morning when someone had the problem and reported it. Hearing this, I mentioned that I had reported the same problem, so they'd know how long it had been. The man at the library said maybe they could get a new mouse. Botswana LGBT-related films

1. I think The_No._1_Ladies'_Detective_Agency_(TV_series) should go under the category Botswana LGBT-related films since the pliot was a made for tv film and there is a gay character in the series and it also should go under Botswana-LGBT-related television programmes. Please say your opinion about this matter. 2. Does Wikipedia have the right to talk about celebrities personal lives? Does Wikipedia have the right to talk about celebrities personal lives? It seems that Wikipedia has become a gossip blog or something. It talk about people's personal live and half of it might not even be true. Is that what an encyclopedia is suppose to do? Thanks! My opinions:

• A movie is a movie if it is made as a movie. Even made-for-TV movies are movies. A television series is not a movie unless it is a movie that is also a series (Futurama made some movies that were later chopped up into series).
• Having a gay character in a movie doesn't make it a gay movie. Practically every movie and television show that comes out of the United States has at least one gay character.
• Wikipedia has a good policy on biographies of living people here. It is designed to handle the gossipy nature of the articles.

BibTex

Thanks for your reply. I managed to get it working. I was running CMD as a system admin, and that was causing a problem. I ran it normally and all works well. How do I include mathematics symbols in my BibTex data base? For example I have

I don't think that guy will ever comprehend that everyone else is talking about the end result of prescribing the medication and he is stuck on talking about the bioeffectiveness of the chemical in the lab. So, I didn't go into detail about studies I've worked on that tried to find reasons for the difference in effectiveness of prescriptions.

You mentioned that you liked the factor value. It is actually called "dose equivalence". It is necessary for detecting a change in dosage. Change in dosage is important for measuring things like therapeutic inertia. So, if you are on 12mg of a brandname drug and your doctor changes you to 18mg of a generic, it appears that he increased the dose. If the generic is a 1.5 dose equivalent to the brandname (meaning it takes 1.5 as much of the generic to equal the brandname), the doctor didn't actually change the dosage. In the RD discussion re 'what is a brain ping?', you mention the "You can't tell me what to do!" attitude of many editors.

This strikes a strong chord with me based on my experience here.

Holy Shivers

hi Kainaw what are some synonyms for the 'Holy Shivers' feeling where it feels like electricity is running down your skin? I meditate where I see blue and yellow colors and my body becomes almost without feeling after a while of meditating (also dream very frequently, see lots of details after meditating similar to how I've seen detailed images prior to falling asleep). I've had the feeling of electricity running down my skin before. I accidentally crossed about 2,000 volts from one hand to the other. It is extremely painful. I was thrown back and into the wall behind me so hard that I was knocked out cold for about 5 minutes. I had a dream that I was riding in the back of a large car. HTML Code cleanup

Thank you for the information about HTML Tidier. And for the invitation to use it. It seems to be designed to do just what I need.

Unfortunately I don't know how to use PHP or even to set up the context it needs to run. I hate to be a nuisance but I wonder is there any straightforward way to get HTML Tidier to run on a Windows XP computer that is not set up as a server.

Maybe I'm starting too far back? My use of TSO and MS-DOS goes back to just this side of the dawn of time but I haven't learned how to use more recent technologies like Java and PHP. I would appreciate some candid feedback. Thanks, Wanderer57 (talk) 23:40, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Installing PHP is rather easy. You just need to download the Windows binaries from http://windows.php.net/download/ (you want to download the zip file. Thread-safe is important if you have parallel processors). The hard part is that you will need a program that implements the function. So, you'd have to learn a little PHP. It may be easier to look for a "tidier" function written in the language you are using. What language is producing the obfuscated HTML? -- kainaw™ 12:35, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Where did I ask to be called an "it"?

It is not appropriate to refer to a person as it. That's the usage of serial killers in horror movies. Be aware that nowhere have I objected to being called he or she. That may be an impression you have gotten from reading other's comments. But not my words ever. My sole objection was to a certain user's explaining my positions as due to the supposed fact of my gender and nationality. I am not going to out myself, so you can use whichever of he or she goes better with "medeis" in your mind. The word itself is masculine in Greek, but it does look like Medea to the English Speaker. (Just please do not picture me as Tyler Perry in drag.) Nevertheless, I am not inanimate or subhuman, and having heard people refer to Chaz Bono that way I do find the usage condescending. I only skimmed the endless comments and noticed a request for "gender neutral" terminology, which I find silly. My usage of "it" was in reference to how silly I find the concept of gender neutrality in speech. I will happily use "he" or "she" or even switch back and forth in a rather confusing manner. Again, any such request for gender neutral terminology was never by me. I am against gender neutral terminology myself. I wrote a long post on the historical linguistics of he/she/it here [2] I'll reproduce for your amusement:

Pre-Proto-Indo-European (the language spoken some 4,500+ years ago from which English and its relatives in Europe and India descended) distinguished between not gender but animacy in nouns, and possessed the distinction between he/it and who/what with the terms he and who indicating animacy, not masculine gender. The Hittite language, which branched off Proto-Indo-European the earliest, never had a feminine gender or pronoun. The feminine gender is believed to have arisen by the reinterpretation of the -a ending of *gwena "woman", certain kinship terms, and various abstract nouns ending in -a as the laryngeal system (of sounds made in the back of the throat like Arabic) decayed. Hence it is not "he" which is a gender-specific pronoun indication masculine, but "she" which specifically indicates feminine, while the older "he" simply means animate, and not specifically feminine.

Note that Proto-Indo-European has semantic pairs for words such as fire and water which distinguish between animate and inanimate (active and inactive) genders:

• egni vs. *pur "fire"
• apa/*akwa- vs. *wodor "water"

where the first term indicates an active agent in the animate gender and the second a passive substance in the inanimate, or now, neuter gender (das Wasser, das Feuer). See also the conservative Latin Adjectives of the Third Declension http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_declension#Third_declension_adjectives with their often lack of distinction between masculine and feminine, and the common gender of certain Germanic languages.

The historic use of "he" as the default pronoun reflects this, as does the lack of any commonly reconstructable ancient feminine adjective system for Proto-Indo-European, and the fact that there are no native feminine "who" forms, since the word was never masculine. The notion that this somehow embodies sexism is a rather historically facile modern misconception. The word he only came to be seen as masculine because the introduced she crowded it out of indicating females. If anything, the argument should be in favor of getting rid of the she pronoun, since it is the sexist neologism.

Truth Table

I am certain that I could provide a quick answer, but I cannot get past your use of "TFFTTFFT" and "truth table". I teach binary logic in many courses. I teach DNF in many courses. But, in over 20 years of doing this, I have never ever seen a truth table that is just a line of T's and F's. A truth table has the variables on one side and the expression on the other. Then, there are rows for each possible value for each variable and the result of the expression using those variables. Your "TFFTTFFT" has no variables and no expression. -- kainaw™ 17:43, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

I know what a truth table is, but I was giving the truth value of a certain table without the corresponding expression. For example, (P) has a table of T-F. (P & Q) has a table of TFFF. (P -> Q) has a value of TFTT.

What I'm looking for specifically is the complete normal forms, both the disjunctive and the conjunctive, of the operation whose truth table is TFFTTFFT. I've also been told that knowing the literal operation corresponding to TFFTTFFT is not really necessary to solving the problem, which has to do with complete normal forms.

After getting an explanation of what you mean by TFFTTFFT, this is a rather straightforward problem. First, notice that TFFT repeats twice. So, A is ignored. (I'm using A, B, and C). The first term will be (A&!A) to force it to false and ignore it. The rest is the negation of XOR. So, XOR would be (B&!C)|(!B&C). The negation is (!B|C)&(B|!C). Translating that to DNF produces (B&C)|(!B&!C). Adding back the first term, you get (A&!A)|(B&C)|(!B&!C). -- kainaw™ 18:21, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Wes Lee is a common name in the Ozark basin of Missouri. There are even roads throughout the southern half of the state named Wes Lee or Weslee. Without knowing which Wes Lee you want, it is hard to get a telephone number.
