• I recently created a page as part of this month's Women in Red edit-a-thon, which is focused on creating or improving content on artists, works of art by women, social reformers, activists, and feminists. What made me think of you is that your course focuses on cultural representations of sexuality and this article is on an academic text that collects essays on Latina representation in culture and film, From Bananas to Buttocks. The article is a stub, so it could use some expansion. I can also recommend expanding "The Myth of the Latin Woman", an awesome essay by Judith Ortiz Cofer. I managed to help save it from deletion years ago, but have never had the time to go back and expand it - this would make for a nice task for your class since Cofer talks about how various stereotypes and cultural depictions have impacted her over the years, particularly the idea that Latinos and Latinas (as well as anyone from Hispanic descent) are expected to be "sexually expressive" (sigh). Stonewall (2015 film) might also make a good project, since the film is supposed to be about the Stonewall riots, but gained a fair share of criticism because it didn't accurately represent the people that took part in the riots. For example, the film was accused of not representing minorities and other groups (transwomen, drag queens, etc). The Advocate even praised the film's protesters. To link to an article talk page, put Talk: before the article name, and bracket it like this: [[Talk:Kathoey]] (this results in Talk:Kathoey). To link to a user's talk page, put User talk: before the name, and bracket it like this: [[User talk:Juamari]] (this results in User talk:Juamari; <-- Note: this comes out in boldface and not as a blue hyperlink like the others, because it refers to this very page; there's nowhere to click to.) a heads-up, and watchlists

Hi Juamari,

Just a heads-up to let you know I left a comment on the Talk page of one of your students. Besides a specific issue with a citation, I left some tips about handling dead links, and how to get help when needed.

Btw, do you know about watchlists? They're a very handy way of keeping track of articles and other pages you are interested in. I use it to keep track, among other things, of a dozen or two Gender-related articles. When I click the 'Watchlist' link, it gives me a list of all the most recent changes to all the pages I'm interested in. In your case, if you added the User page (or Talk page) of every student in your class to your watchlist, as well as the articles they're assigned to, it will make it much easier for you to follow what's going on. You can add articles or talk pages to your watchlist en masse, just click the "Watchlist" link top right on this page, then click 'Edit raw watchlist'. Slower, but possibly easier, is to visit the page you're interested in, then click the star symbol top right until it turns blue. Cordially, Mathglot (talk) 21:44, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

To add to what Mathglot said, you can also elect to receive an email when a page on your watchlist has changed. Caution, as this can be a large volume depending on the number and popularity of the pages you follow. Avoiding conflict of interest

Hi Juamari, it appears that you may have a personal connection with the page Juana María Rodríguez, which you have edited. Wikipedia policies strongly discourage users from editing pages about themselves or people they have a personal connection with, per WP:COISELF.
