Date format edit

Your edit here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Barry_Fuller&diff=562411292&oldid=562410874

Has changed the dates to the incorrect format, and requires people to undo this and it is really rather time consuming and annoying, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Seb_Brown&diff=562543916&oldid=562335258 Read here about correct formating: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:MOSNUM

So if you could ensure that you do not continue to do this, it's one thing to use the incorrect format, but to change the correct format for the entire article to the incorrect format is really quite bad and must not be done. The edit would have to be undone manually now and would be very time consuming and annoying. I have contacted user http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ohconfucius to see if they can sort it out as they did for Seb Brown. But please make sure you're doing things correctly first. A quick look at your talk page suggests that this has been an issue a few times before.

Thanks.

Your GA nomination of Barry Fuller edit

The article Barry Fuller you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Barry Fuller for things which need to be addressed. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:07, 7 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re: Under 18s squad additions edit

Hi, I can't find any record of the players you have added being associated with AFC Wimbledon. Could you provide references (which you should do anyway or remove them if there are none. I also noticed that there are players not on the list that your own reference says should be there (selects top 10) also the under 18s squad reference to AFC Wimbledon's homepage is out of date and many of those players have moved on as confirmed in the aforementioned selects top 10 article. Could you amend these and please remember to provide references when you're adding new information. This is very important.

Thanks. Pawac (talk) 20:14, 19 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for adding a reference and removing the old one, however there remain players that have no references at all, have been refernced in the article you just added but haven't been added to the squad and you've also not amended the issues raised with the players mentioned in the "selects top 10" article. You've used this as a reference yet the players mentioned in the article as being part of the under 18s, have not been added to the under 18s squad here.
  • The players that have no references are: Charlie Craig, Ollie Haines, George Oakley, Callum Overton & Charlie Taylor.
  • The players referenced but not included are: Danny Gallagher, Taylor Roles, Chris Slavin, Jaevon Mitchell, Powell Ulcah, Jamie Hardwick, Ian Smith, Jack Watret, Steve Sergeant, Malik Smith, Jaszime Johnson, Duane Williams, Rushane Brown, Nehemie Mole, Dalvin Donnelly, Jordan Jackson, Ola Fadehan & Tyrell Samuda
  • I cannot stress how important it is that you always add references when you add information, this is the main rule of Wikipedia and not including references is one of the main reasons the AFC Wimbledon article failed its good article nomination. I also cannot make sense of why some references have been added, but the information they provide has not been included and why a reference has had some of its information added, but other bits not added. Please can you make sure not to do this and to always reference new information you add to the article.
    • Thanks for adding a reference for Callum Overton & Oliver Haines. However, there is still no reference for Charlie Craig, George Oakley and Charlie Taylor.
    • Also, you've again not done anything about the "selects top to" article in which it is used as a reference but none of the information in the article has been added to the page. I cannot make sense of why there is a reference on the page, but none of the information it provides has been used.
    • Also, you've again not done anything about the reference you added yesterday that references some of the under-18s squad, but includes players that have not been added to this page. I cannot make sense why you chose only to add some of the information from this reference.
    • If you could please not ignore these issues, I have raised them three times now, because they are of concern and do play an important role in how the AFC Wimbledon page is rated, as previously discussed. If you cannot add references for the remaining players than they'll have to be removed. Also the players referenced will have to be added...I mean they're referenced afterall.
    • I'm not sure how often you talk to people on Wikipedia, but it comes across as being extremely rude when you do not reply to them, even with a simple thanks or something, but especially when they're raising issues with edits you have made and helping you improve them. There may well be a reason you've chosen not to remove the unreferenced players and not added the referenced players (though I can't think of one) but if you do not communicate then it appears that you're just ignoring these issues, especially when they're raised multiple times. This also extends to when giving other users tips like remember to reference all new data you add to an article (which, as previously mentioned, is one of the things seriously preventing the AFC Wimbledon page from being a good article) and again it does come across as rude when there is no reply. Just common courtesy.
    • Please don't keep ignoring the issues raised, I'm bringing them to your attension as you're the one who has either added the unreferenced data or adding references but not any or all of the data they include. Thanks. Pawac (talk) 21:07, 20 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
      • Thanks very much for your response, for sorting these issues out and for your co-operation. Though I have noticed that Nehemie Mole, Dalvin Donnelly, Jordan Jackson, Ola Fadehan & Tyrell Samuda are still not included, is there a reason for their omission? About the possible issue with under-18s and the college acadamy, I am about 80% into creating a seperate page for the AFC Wimbledon development & under 18s squad like other teams have, that will be linked underneath the 1st team on the main wimbledon page, mainly to not make the wimbledon page look so long (another issue raised in reply to the good article nomination) and so that more information can be included about said teams. I am hoping to complete it and get it online in a day or two. Once it is online it should allow us to expand upon the under-18s and college acadamy without fear of taking up too much space. I'm sure you'd be able to contribute greatly to this when it is online, which would be great, such as the staff you mentioned in your reply. Thus far it has squads, brief info and list of graduated in the same style table of those on the current wimbledon wiki page.
      • Indeed it is good to see that people care about this article and can bring a lot of information to improve it, such as yourself. Though we do have to ensure that everything is correctly referenced to get that good article that we all want. Thanks again Pawac (talk) 00:13, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jodie,

You seem to have had problems with your Featured List nomination. I have deleted this page Wikipedia talk:Featured article candidates/List of AFC Wimbledon seasons/archive1 because this is not the place to nominate lists. I have looked around and found that you have (correctly) nominated it here also: Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of AFC Wimbledon seasons/archive1. Best wishes. August 2013 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Jonathan Meades (footballer) does not have an edit summary. As a result, I undid some of your edits here because you did not justify them (e.g. removing valid data - the author's name - from a reference). Dave.Dunford (talk) 09:00, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you're going to undo people's edits, the least you could do is provide an edit summary. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball and nobody knows how long Meades will be out injured. He also won't be 21 for ever. The score in a pre-season friendly he played in is inconsequential in a summary of his entire career. I've reverted back - please don't revert unless you address these issues. You really should make the effort to read some of Wikipedia's policies. Dave.Dunford (talk) 18:15, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for replying. I've responded at User talk:Dave.Dunford#Jonathan_Meades. Dave.Dunford (talk) 20:49, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:30, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
