Howabout's RfA edit

Copied and pasteded message to follow: Hi. You four ,(User:Acetic Acid, User:Essjay, User:Jobe6, User:Redwolf24), have all, at one time or another, offered to nominate me for adminship. I now feel ready to try, for the fourth time, and it will be my last, no matter the outcome. If any of you feel otherwise, please tell me. The same goes to anyone reading this who is not one of those listed above. Since four nominators would be a little much, and I don't care who nominates me (you are all good editors), please decide who it will be. so why is their a term for hispanic then if they are considered Caucasian? If they are Mexican, then they are considered Caucasian not hispanic. (Jessica Liao 17:45, 30 October 2005 (UTC))Reply

Hispanic is an ethnicity and their race is Caucasian right? (Jessica Liao 18:04, 30 October 2005 (UTC))Reply

I'd like to ask those fellows who have not indicated whether or not they grant permission for a wikibio on them to please do so soon. I'd also appreciate it everyone could expand or create the wikibios for which permission has been granted. The wikibio project simply won't be useful unless fellows actively participate; so I'd like to issue a challenge that each fellow contribute at least one sentence to two wikibios. I'll be on wikibreak for the next week and when I get back there will be prizes in store for the fellows who have the three highest edit counts on wikibios. Hi Jobe6. I would just like to say please reconsider your vote on account of this was not a self-nom. I wasn't expecting a re-nom today or anytime soon. Nlu renominated me because Mcfly85 was polluting my recent RFA. Im not asking you to change to support by any means but I would like you to think about it and put your vote under neutral. I saw you also commented on my edit to Mcfly85's user page. I am sorry for ever editing it because it started this whole mess with him. Hi Jobe6,

I just wanted to thank you for supporting me in my RfA. To tell you the truth, I was surprised by all the support I've gotten. I never saw myself as more than an occasional Wiki-hobbyist.

My wife sends her curses, as Wikipedia will likely suck up more of my time. She jokingly (I think) said she was tempted to log on to Wikipedia just to vote Oppose and let everyone know that she didn't want her husband to be an admin.

I'll make sure your trust in me is founded. --Deathphoenix 14:48, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Image Tagging for Image:Concertoguitar.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Concertoguitar.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Badmotorfinger.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Badmotorfinger.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Yes about a year or so ago almost all of my accounts of any sort were keylogged and I lost almost all of them. I lost this since Wikipedia does not have any sort of password request question. I eventually found out the password except that my talk was protected so I couldnt tell anyone. I decided to forget about wikipedia until recently when I discovered my talk page was now editable. Welcome back edit

I'm glad you got your account back, alot of things have happened, I changed my username and became an admin over a year ago. Esperanza doesn't exist no more, many editors from 2005 left the project, and new ones came in. WP:BLP is a new policy, AFDs aren't considered as a vote anymore, etc. Just read all the old signpost articles if you want to learn more. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 20:30, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I second that welcome back. I remember you from 2005 as a good contributor and was sad to learn of your block all that time ago. I hope you continue editing. Cheers! — Moe ε 05:20, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Spoonman.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Spoonman.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:05, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Malmsteenalchemy.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading Image:Malmsteenalchemy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 15:21, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Werehappyfamily.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Werehappyfamily.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 03:46, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Jobe6! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 944 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

AfD nomination of List of bass guitarists edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of bass guitarists. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of bass guitarists. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
